Bought it new! Best Car I have Ever Owned!

Bought my 2007 Elantra new (Built in Korea/Purchased in Canada) -- top-of-the-line SILVER Elantra with BLACK LEATHER, sunroof, OEM full digital climate controls (blue glow buttons at night), 205/55R16, 170 watt stereo w/apple auxiliary, fog lamps, ABS, traction control, power mirrors, power locks/windows, heated seats, heated mirrors, 8 airbags, loaded, loaded, loaded! OVER 200,000 MILES with just ONE TUNE UP, 1 major brake job and 3x replaced the brake pads. I have driven through Canadian winters and crossed the U.S. in midwest snow storms and the Sierra's. The car is a camel!!! Still runs smooth as silk with proper service oil change intervals. Everything still works like the day I bought it new!!!! Amazing!!!! I've owned Honda Accords, Ford Escape, BMW 3 series, and a few muscle cars: Mustang GT and Camaro Z. This is by far the best car I have owned. 15 years of reliability and unbelievable affordability. I can't give it up, even though my wife is begging me to buy a new car. Lol! I'm not giving up my Elantra. It still looks and runs fabulous!!!

So sad that my 2007 Hyundai Elantra is gone

We purchased a 2007 Hyundai Elantra with Limited trim in 2008. Leather interior, automatic climate control, sun roof, and a fantastic sound system. It has run so well for us for the past 13 years with only the usual regular maintenance and one CV axle and a pair of struts. Finally at 311,000km it spun on ice and had a bit of plastic bumper cover damage to the front right and our insurance company wrote it off!! So sad. It likely had another 100,000 km of life left! Body was still 100% rust free. RIP Elantra. Best, most reliable car I’ve ever owned.

I had this car for 10 years & never had a problem. All I did was keep up with scheduled oil changes and that's it. Problem free car...ultimately I was in car accident and frame bent/engine was still good, but it would have cost more to fix frame than car was worth:/

Love This Car

I bought this car back in September '07. I loved it then, and I love it now. Previously, I had a '99 Saturn SL1. I definitely discovered what I had been missing all those years. I love the way this car handles, how safe I feel in it, receiving multitudes of compliments from the interior design, the roominess, and more.

I purchased my Elantra early November and was genuinely excited as it was my first vehicle bought from a dealership. However, that excitement quickly dissipated the more I drove the car. While the acceleration is adequate, it does leave much to be desired, especially when the vehicle returns a mild 26 MPG on average with a 5-speed. The 5-speed on my Hyundai is also in need of repair with only 100k miles on the vehicle. The handling responds, but without a sense of urgency, leaving a very dull engagement, even on curvy roads. When thrown into a turn, the car listens, but in such a way that it seems lethargic. All-in-all, not a bad car. Just an incredibly lackluster experience. *Two and a half year update: Unfortunately still have the vehicle and loathe every day I have to use it. The upside is I bike a lot more. The downside is that as a result of financing it, I've dumped over $14k into various repairs over the last two years. As far as Hyundai as a whole, I will never purchase from them again. When I put forth the myriad of issues I've had with the car, they informed me I had 50k miles left on my warranty only to not honor the warranty because it was subjective. If you're looking for value or a great warranty, Hyundai looks decent on the surface, but from my experience, they are nothing but thrifty salesmen looking to get you stuck with a massive liability.
