Used 2002 Hyundai Elantra Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Love It!!
Dropped it with some Eibach Springs and threw on some 18" wheels and my neihbor with a Lexus IS300 is jealous becuase the kids in the neighborhood think mine looks better. I get heads to turn all over town and people in parking lots are always asking me if it really is a Hyundai. Couldn't be happier.
First Impressions 2002 Elantra GT
WOW. This beautiful Carbon Blue GT AMAZING. Comfortable, loaded with features, and ride quality more like that expected from a luxury car. The car ride quiet; sits up tall, smoothe and silky compared to Civic EX. Amazingly, the GT $3-4K less than Civic EX . GT's ride is smoother, quieter, and the stereo better sounding. However, paint finish quality on the Civic superior. Considering other amenities like fog lights, digital clock, heated mirrors, leather seats, the Hyundai comes out ahead. Four wheel disk brakes--stopping power galore. Acceleration good. Car sturdiness and safety features (including side air bags) totally up to snuff.
Incredible value
I have the Elantra GT, and what other vehicle offers 5 year 60K mile warranty (bumper to bumper), full leather interior, 4 disc brakes, sunroof, CD player, fog lights, and very stylish guage display for UNDER 14K before tax, tags, and title. i have recevied many compliments and surpirsed looks from people who have taken rides from me. It's not the same Hyundai that your broke uncle or older sister drove ten years years ago. This is a real car at an incredible value. This is the best big purchase I've made in as long as I can remember.
1,000 miles later...
What a gem-I looked for 3 months- researching cars-Hondas, Toyota...(I thought that would be the ONLY car I would ever buy). I noticed an Elantra GT on the highway-was very curious-and started to research. After the test drive I was hooked...Fabulous car...Highly recommend!
Great car and value
At just over $14k, this car may be the best value on the market in its class. After 3 weeks, we love it all the more. It's more comfortable than expected for its size, has just enough pep, and looks good. The GT's hatch is versatile for cargo. Rear 60/40 seats fold flat by flipping up bottom seats - nice. You can't get more for the money. After over 8 years & 120k miles with a Hyundai Excel, I'll attest to the long- term quality, low mtc. cost and reliability. Not to mention how far they've come in that time with design and value-added features. You can't go wrong with a Hyundai.
