Azera VS Avalon VS ES350
My family owns 2 other Toyota. I did not even consider a Hyundai when I first started looking into purchasing a new car for the family. But I did tons and tons of research reading online review sites as well as forums. We decided to test the Lexus ES350, Toyota Avalon, and the Hyundai Azera(we never considered an american car). The Azera turned out to be quite a suprise. It is a extremely good car even without considering the low price or long warranty that Hyundai is known for. If you factor in the fact that a similarly equipped Avalon is 5K above the price of an Azera, we picked the Azera without hesitation. I am now an extremely satisfied owner of a Hyundai Azera.
Loving It
Can't say enough about my 07 Azera Limited with Ultimate package. Unbelievable in terrible snow storm (Denver blizzard). My mileage, with regular unleaded, has been in the 23-24 range around town. (about (2K so far). Great power, very quiet, love the power side folding mirrors for my garage. MANY luxury features. Its getting comments like "very swanky" from the parking valets. My only regret is that Hyundai had not yet started started delivery of Azera/s with XM radio at the time I got mine. I understand the ones produced after the first of the year will have that too, on top of a great Infinity radio, amp, and speakers. Could not be happier.
Best sedan under $40K
Compared to Maxima, Avalon, even Lexus ES and Infiniti G35, this Azera limited edition outperforms in a solid way. It is cheaper, but that doesn't mean that performance is worse. I feel that the quality and performance are even competitive with Lexus GS or LS series. Excellent car. If you're looking for a TRUE luxury car at a reasonable price, this is THE car.
excellent!!!
This is a wonderful car to drive! The power is awsome and it looks beautiful! will recomend it to everyone! really happy with it.
Yin and Yang
Great car for the money. Looks and sounds high-end. Great engine, nice stereo, acceptable mileage, very quiet inside, transmission is fine. Suspension is rough over bumps yet not firm in the corners. Rear sun shade is nice touch, until it broke (fixed under warranty). Rear mirror fell off. Big car but seat doesn't go back far enough. Trunk does drip in water when opened but that doesn't really bother me. Great trunk w/cargo net & split folding seats. Good in stop/go and on highway. Leather isn't super supple, but is durable. No problems with build quality, rattles, or peeling trim. No mechanical problems. Lots of safety features.
Better than a Lexus ES350
Yes, this is not a Lexus. But it is better than a Lexus ES350 in terms of overall quality and value. The price is about $12,000 cheaper than a comparably equipped ES350 but quality is equivalent or actually better in some areas. For example, the ride is not floaty as ES350 since the Azera provides a firmer (better road handling) yet very comfortable ride. Inside the cabin is quieter than the ES350 (closer to the LS430) since I could hear my wrist watch ticking at 65 mph on a hwy. Azera has a bigger interior space than the BMW 760i. It is a true luxury at a very humble price.
Wish it had better MPG but at least it’s fast
I bought this car used as my first car to get me through college (long trips back and forth to home). It now has 144,000 miles on it and it’s still reliable! So far I’ve had to replace the brake pads and rotars(normal) and a few tire balances but that’s it. Now it is an 11 year old car so there are a few things wrong that aren’t worth fixing such as the front passenger door lock won’t always work so you have to push it on or off manually, and there’s a clean crack on the dash, and there’s some sun damage on the interior paint (none on the exterior). But considering it’s age, and that I’ve never had to pay for any major fixes, this car is a great value and very very reliable. Of course I wish I got better gas mileage but it’s a powerful engine so I got what I asked for I guess.

A Good Car Overall
I've had the car since new. Quiet, good performance and decent mpg. A comfortable ride that's been on quite a few long trips. The only problems I've had are an undercar protective panel falling off on the highway (covered under warranty), the Michelin tires lasted only 30k miles and, now, the dash has cracked (I assume the dealer will also cover under warranty). I only have one little occassional rattle but don't they all have at least one? I've enjoyed this car and intend to keep it until at least the end of the warranty period. I would recommend Hyundai to all buyers.
A steal at this price
I could not be happier. Got the black / black and had the factory wheels chromed. Stunning to look at and an even bigger pleasure to drive. This is a "10" and a must see for anyone shopping at this pricepoint.
Engine Fire...2007 Azera
I owned this car for 3 years. I am 2nd owner. The 2nd owner only gets 5 year, 60K mile warranty. I was about 3 weeks past the 5 years when the engine caught on fire while sitting in a parking lot, turned off. It was a total loss... and also for others parked near by...as they too lit up. The fire started in the very front of the engine compartment. Hyundai denied any assistance or responsibility for the engine fire. They were not interested to investigate. I am just so thankful it happened out in the open, rather than back in my attached garage. I will never own another Hyundai or Kia again. I value my safety and that of my family first.
