Honda 2016 Transmission Blackhole
Yesterday after backing 2016 Honda Touring ( 9 speed 2 wheel drive)--29k miles-- out of garage transmission completion froze on middle of street. Got transmission failure screen and emission failure screen. Tried to put in N and push to curb. NO WAY, car would not move. Called dealer and told nothing to do but except tow to dealership. Called towing co. and waited about 2 hrs. By time tow truck arrived problem had somehow reset and was able to move out of street but dealer was closed by then. Next morning drove to dealer without problem and failure messages were off. After day of checking told problem was "probably" sensor in transmission was "probably" caused both failure messages BUT they weren't able to duplicate problem. Only fix appears to be new transmission BUT Even thought code is still in computer they say unless they can duplicate problem they can't replace transmission under warranty. Dealer is keeping car for now and I'm waiting to see what they intend to do. I don't plan on leaving dealer without the problems absolutley fixed. Can't believe it!! Got to be a safety hazard. Tech couldn't say what might happen it transmission fails while on the freeway?? Update. Honda has stepped up and replaced the transmission under the warranty. Happy day. Thanks to the local dealer for there efforts to get this matter resolved.

2016 Honda Pilot software updates
Fyi: took mine to a Houston dealer and all of the problems with transmission and radio have been addressed. Honda came out with software updates to correct the problems. Believe me I was ready to trade it in but the Pilot runs like a champ now!

Looks Like a Ferrari drives like a Fiat
We leased the 2016 Pilot with the expectation we were getting the same quality as the last 3 Pilots we leased. This was not the same Pilot we had come to love. This vehicle is tinny - the vibration and awful performance are staggering. We recently took it on a 10 hour road trip. It was like sitting on an airplane next to the motor. As we traveled down the highway I felt as if the hood was going to peel back like a sardine can. I am hoping the dealership will take the vehicle back as we have just exceeded our 30 day period. I should have been more aware of the fact there were 3,200 miles on the vehicle when we leased it realizing someone already knew what I was about tho find out. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

I did LOVE this car until it almost killed me
Transmission occasionally feels jerky within the year of ownership. Struggles to shift between gears and jolts, esp downshift when approaching stop. It's not consistent yet when it does happen, if put car in park and back to drive it resets and doesn't happen for while. (of course dealer can't replicate and sees no error) The engine idle stop feature then not working properly. Radio cuts out, pops or jerks to start. Car lags to turn back on when ready to go, no pick up and have 2-3 cars blow past you when starting from a red light due to the occasional lag. Randomly, and extremely dangerous, episode of malfunction with idol stop for entire vehicle and all functions to seize up. As in sitting like a dead duck in the middle of a busy intersection with a car that won't go back into drive, park, turn on or off with an error reading across dashboard and red lights light up.... onscreen instructions state to depress brake and push start button yet car would not accept those steps with constant tries for 2-3 minutes. Car was in the middle of a busy underpass, driver luckily not rear-ended in the dead car. Driver was thereafter able to follow on-screen instructions for restarting vehicle and taken to Honda for service. The best the Honda dealership service department appears to be able to do in diagnosing the problem is to suggest battery recharge or replacement, which has not been an observed issue in the car and is apparently a common suggestion from dealerships. Battery was replaced yet upon return from dealership the idol start no longer works at all. This is an apparently bigger issue than Honda has been willing to admit. It's extremely dangerous to have a vehicle (only 12k miles) that will stall and not respond to restarting, while in middle of busy roads! Complaint filed NHTSA for this issue (11230891), highly suggest all others with same problem do the same.
