Used 2006 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
LOVE this car!
We recently got the EX with navigation system to replace our station wagon. I am having such a great time with this car. The drive is smooth and the power is impressive. The interior space is great, with room for a family and all the stuff that goes with it. There are so many extra features that make the whole experience so much more than any car I have owned before. The rear-view camera that comes with the navigation system is wonderful with children, pets and toys in the driveway. The audio system is awesome and is equipped with satellite radio. Drive one and I think you will have to have one.
Biggest Bang for the Buck
We've put almost 2k miles on the car in a month. Great family car. Paid less that $29k +t,t&l. Get the all weather floormats if you have younger, messy kids. Smooth ride, great safety features, solid feel to the car. Updated styling on '06 much beefier than prior years - more of a truck profile, less minivan-like. 3rd row seating better than most. Others considered - Toyota Highlander Hybrid - too small. Acura MDX - Pilot a better value, more room. Dodge Durango - Build quality issues (we previously owned a '99). Gas milage better than most, but no where near as good as the Highlander Hybrid. IMHO - this is by far asnd away the biggest bang for the buck, in its class.

2006 Honda Pilot EX 2WD
The Honda Pilot is an efficient blend of practicality and good looks. It rides and handles well with a solid feel, and has plenty of room for passengers and cargo. It accelerates strongly yet averages over 20 mpg in every-day traffic. The V6 uses only 3 cylinders under light load, yielding about 25 mpg on the highway. Reliability after one year and 12,000 miles has been perfect.
Very Disappointed So Far
After less than two months and 1,500 miles, my new 06 Pilot died (leaving my pregnant wife stranded in a snow storm). Apparently the "third bearing was contaminated" from the factory and "disintegrated." Engine was oil starved, and now short block and cylinder heads need to be replaced. Aside from that, the car suffers from a number of annoying interior creaks and rattles. Audio (both stereo and nav) "blacks out." The fr p door rubs the body panel. I have a 2003 S2000 that I love, but my faith in Honda has been shaken. Maybe it is a problem w/ the Alabama plant? I've filed a case w/ Honda asking them to replace with new vehicle (rather than rebuild the engine). Will post an update.
Great SUV for family with 2-4 kids
First I was not sure if it was enough space for us but it is plenty. Have 3 kids and me the driver is 6 feet 2. Plenty of leg room. We love this truck. Suprisingly great handling for its size. Handles like a sedan. Plenty of goodies including XM radio. The sound system is a little bit boxy. If sound that you are looking for this is not the SUV for you. Very comfortable, love the side curtain air bags and the stability control. Very well thought design interior and exterior. Friends and neigbors love my truck. 4 has been bought around my way since I got ours. Nice heated leather seats with heated mirrors. Overall this is a solid SUV that also has a great engine.
