Used 2005 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
almost superb
This SUV is a very comfortable ride. The 255 HP engine gives it a nice kick with smooth acceleration. The interior is accommodating and cozy. The wind shield wipers are in an awkward position, however, and there is a six cd player and another solo cd player which is weird, but poses no problems. Also, a silver trim has been added to the interior for cosmetic purposes which I can do without. Despite some disappointment about some cosmetic decisions this vehicle is powerful, comfortable, handles beautifully and is thoroughly enjoyable.
Great GSW (glorified station wagon)
Needed a replacement for my aging minivan and had almost settled for a midsize sedan, but a stop at the Honda dealer changed that. The Pilot drives like an upscale sedan and has plenty of room when you need it. Seating is very flexible and comfortable, too. Agree with other owners about the windshield wiper stalk getting in the way of the odd gear shifter, but after a week or so learned to get used to it. Very comfortable highway cruiser and fun on the backroads, too. Great power train..very refined. Looking forward to extended trips in it this summer! Gas mileage is a minor concern, but if you drive a GSW, it isn't a priority.

Am Happy
I replaced my '94 Cad Seville and '99 Honda CRV with an '05 Pilot EXL a few months ago. So far so good.Have paid more for cars but think this may be indeed the best car I've ever owned overall. It is quieter than the CRV although still noisy on certain road surfaces, and doesn't get the fuel economy the Seville did (25+ mpg on the highway with 91 octane vs about 21 with 89 for the Pilot so probably a push cost wise? But worse than the CRV overall for sure. Worth it though overall I think because it is quiet enough I can listen to the radio at highway speeds--not possible in the CRV--and a much more comfortable ride. Will be adding a Toyota Avalon to my "fleet" for reasons unimportant to you.
pilot
The honda pilot is excellent. Very smooth and not bumpy compared to most SUVs. Very roomy and so easy to fold the seats down to make more room. Very fun to drive.
Solid performance great comfort
Drove up mt hood with excellent performance. I encountered sleet / ice roads and snowed filled roads. With my all seasons tires that came standard with the Pilot I experienced no slippage, excellent handling and felt very safe. Two thumbs way up!
