Solid vehicle
Leased this SUV about a month ago. If you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, get the EX-L with AWD. Great acceleration, ton of room for people and cargo. Leather seats are very good and the sound system is decent. With Apple Car play and Android Auto you won’t miss the navigation which Waze and Maps usually does a better job with anyway. With Car Play I just do a ‘Hey Siri’ and it takes care of everything. Handles well for a big SUV and has a tight turning radius. Handles bumpy roads well. Blind spot and cross traffic alert work well and once you have it you don’t want to be without it. Also comes standard with 20” wheels. Test drove both the Hyundai Palisade and Santa Fe and while they were good, it only took one test drive to know I wanted the Passport. If you don’t need third row seating, but do want a V6, AWD, and a reasonable price tag, this just may be your next SUV.

Very Impressed
I have owned two Pilots and most recently the CRV. CRV was a fine SUV, but I missed having a higher seating position and wanted more ground clearance and more back storage. Passport delivers for all three and handles very well. The safety features could use a little more refinement, but it is great to have them standard. Only feature I don't like is the engine shut off when you are stopped. You have to disable the feature with a button on the center console every time you start the vehicle. Other than that, it is a great SUV positioned between the Pilot and the CRV.

Honda Passport 2020
Having just purchased a Honda Passport I have had nothing but problems with the infotainment system. The screen goes completely blank and the driver display goes completely black so you have no idea what is going on. It happens with no warnings. Sometimes the unit will reset itself and then go black again. This is not an item the dealer can fix. An Engineer from Honda has to come to the dealership and remove the entire dash. Getting an engineer to the dealership takes months. I have been a big Honda fan but no more. I would not recommend this vechical or any other Honda. There is a class action suit. Google honda infotainment problems.

Almost perfect but not quite
I have owned this car for 6 months and have driven 5k miles, I love everything about it except for.. Cons 1. The interior Temp gauge has to be off, in my other 2 cars I kept it at 71 and it was perfect (I keep it 71 in my house too), in this car I have to keep it at 67. In a normal sunny day if I put it at 71 the air shuts down and I get hot, not a huge deal, but for what I paid, I should have an accurate thermostat. 2. I detest the car auto-shut-off when you are at a stop, and you have to disable it every time you start the car. Maybe in an urban setting this would save you gas but in my setting it doesn't. The car is so quiet I don't notice it's off until I try to pull out into heavy traffic. That 1 second delay freaks me out. 3. The auto high beams. You can disable them but the settings don't seem to save so I am force to use the option to turn them off, which isn't worth it since I have to hold the high-beams on for 20 seconds to do it, so sometimes I end up turning on my headlights on manually from auto. In a rural setting when you are driving on a hilly road it looks like I am flashing my brights at the person in front of me and the people driving at me. 4. The arm rest just plain sucks, it's little and it works like a seat belt, if it pulls up to far I have to pull it all the way up to reset it. I now keep a 12" cube pillow to rest my arms on. Despite all that I really do love the car, it has a lot more pro's than cons, I love the lane keeping assistant, the adaptive cruise control, the fact I don't have to duck my head when I get into the car, the touch screen interface, the remote start and other little things. It's just sad that a couple of the problems I have with the car could easily be fixed if the engineers had given the option for us to shut that option off.

Poor quality
I've had my 2020 passport for less than one month and from the factory the AC compressor was bad (Was in the service center for 2 days) and now I'm having a clanking sound with the steering. This is the first vehicle that I have ever bought that is having issues when its brand new.

Scary braking issue/AC not cooling
Bought a 2020 new in Feb 2021. 9000 miles on it now. < 6000 are mine. AC is already failing. They replaced Freon and put blue dye in it so I can deal with it again later. Yeah. But evn worse, I was driving last week on interstate, and no other cars around, and nothing in the road, and the passport braked hard for no reason at high speed. It startled me as I didn’t know what had happened, and I’m looking everywhere but the road ahead to see what was happening. Very dangerous situation. Thank goodness no one was behind me like in Atlanta, or there would have been a crash. Took it into dealership and they don’t know either, but act like it’s not their problem. Just sensitive. Guess someone has to die first.

Passport Sways all over the place.
I bought a 2020 passport Elite and I had to get rid of it. The lane sensing is too sensitive and vibrates the steering wheel way too much. Also, the vehicle won’t stay planted on the road and sways all over the place. It makes long drives a chore. I got the alignment looked at twice by two different honda dealerships and they couldn’t find the problem. Also, gas mileage is horrible. Beware if you’re looking at a passport. I got a Subaru Outback XT and my life has been better ever since.

Nicest SUV I have ever driven
I traded in my 2016 4Runner that was a very nice SUV for the 2020 Passport. The 4Runner though has gotten a bit stale and fallen behind other mid-size SUV's in technology and available options for the money. It has the best ride of the other models I tested including the Ford Explorer, and have more options. If your looking at a mid-size SUV, I'd give this one a shot.

Less than yr old with multiple repetitive problems
From the time I picked up my new Passport, it has had repetitive problems ranging from constant vehicle instability warnings, a driver’s side window that gets stuck open (in Minnesota in the winter), defective front windshield (internally chipped under the mirror encasement) that spidered throughout, auto-start that does not reliably work, a defective seatbelt that damaged the footwell, a defective infotainment center (see class action lawsuit against Honda). The undercarriage began to rust just months after purchase (I have just over 6000 miles on it and rust continues to progress). When one attempts to shift from park or reverse into drive, it often takes two or three presses of the drive button before the car will move forward. We have been a honda family for almost three decades but this will be our last. DO NOT buy this car!
HADIT HONDA
The car is fine, a bit rough riding, but very solid driving and stable on the road. A bit of interior wind noise and too many gadgets to learn how to operate, Steering wheel hand grip is sized for GOLITH . Power, engine quietness, fuel mileage all agreeable. All in all, in less than 600 miles, a satisfactory purchase. Ask me again after 50,000 miles ! Way, way too much electronic junk on the vehicle if you have a minimum speck of brain about driving a vehicle. If you need all this junk and warnings, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING A MOTOR VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY ! The electronic junk is very annoying while a person with any common sense is operating the vehicle. The automatic CRASH ASSIST BRAKING IS VERY DANGEROUS ON WET OR ICY/SNOW COVERED ROADWAYS! It will cause loss of control and a crash itself by its own operation! Since the above 600mile review, I now have 13,500 miles on the vehicle and find it to be solid, rough riding but very economical in the fuel mileage and very powerful in performance. It drives very nice with all the electronic assist junk turned OFF and is relative quiet and comfortable even for my 6 foot 4 frame. It also fits my 5 foot spouse very well with the fully adjustable power seats. My biggest complaint came as a surprise with the second engine oil change. Well within the recommended mileage , the dash computer first indicated the need for an oil change, a number 1 appeared as the code.NO PROBLEM, getting close to mileage! THEN a number 6 code appeared. Checking this code revealed THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL/FLUID NEEDED CHANGED BEFORE 15,000 MILES?? Questioning, I verified this with the selling dealer who has done ALL the service on this vehicle. I tried to buy the special HONDA REQUIRED differential fluid to do the change myself; NOT AVAILABLE at any local parts outlets???At the dealer service center I was told the fluid had to be changed because of metal debris in the fluid caused by the internal gears WEARING IN to each other?? Cost quoted was $65 to n70.00 dollars I HAD TO PAY! I agreed and the fluid was SUPPOSED to have been changed while they changed the engine oil and filter. At checkout, the actual cost to me was $104.20 with NO EXPLANATION! I questioned the need for the change of fluid and received the same WEAR IN EXPLANATION?? I explained it is the result of HONDA'S VERY POOR INITIAL GEAR MACHINE AND FINISH WORK WHICHPUTS THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR POOR MANUFACTURING SQUARELY ON THE SHOULDERS OF THEIR CUSTOMER WHO MUST BEAR THESE RIDICULOUS EXTRA COSTS BECAUSE OF THEIR POOR INITIAL MANUFACTURING! I have never encountered this ridiculous charge with ANY OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE EVER HAD! We buy large trucks that haul 75,000 pounds every day, in all sorts of rugged conditions, and do not have to change the differential fluid until 350,000 miles simply because they do the manufacturing right and don't place the responsibility for their shoddy manufacturing on the customer. The service writer girl told me she has a high dollar Honda car and had to do the same change of differential fluid, PLUS, brake fluid and engine coolant all before 30,000 miles??? A very poor statement of their shoddy manufacturing and pushing these costs on to their customers. In a unsolicited telephone review from a HONDA Representative, asking how I liked the vehicle, I explained the above, which was apparently not what he wanted to hear because he hung up on me before getting all the explanation! I asked other BRAND OF auto buyers if they have encountered these charges and have found NO OTHER person who has had to face these charges with a new vehicle! I DO NOT RECCOMEND BUYING ANY HONDA BECAUSE OF THIS OBVIOUS INDICATOR OF POOR-QUALITY MANUFACTURING!

Should have never brought passport back
Bought our passport in nov 2019.. its a 2020 model. So its been 14 months . Spacious interior... great acceleration... comfy seats. The bad... suv constantly tries to brake on 2 lane roads with on coming traffic- alignment always out at every oil change... dealer suggested not driving on rough roads. REALLY. THE 20 INCH were a bad idea since the rubber band tires ride like on skids... guess that may be causing problem with alignment. Has same motor as my old odyssey... but 2k less weight and same fuel mileage. This is our 4th honda and our last. Only buy if you like rough rides - bad ailgnments- and terrible fuel mileage.
Several minor complaints
Let me start by saying I have leased my last 5 vehicles, from an Infiniti Q35x to a couple Jeep Grand Cherokees, so I’m always used to having a brand new car. None of them had given me anything to complain about. I got a sweet lease deal on the Passport two years ago in the midst of Covid. It has a roomy interior and I like how it rides up high. However, there are multiple issues that others have mentioned here that drive me crazy. First, the armrest is so small and cheap it’s almost useless. Literally my least favorite thing about this SUV. Second, the A/C system is so weak-on hot summer days it needs to be turned all the way down to low to feel cool, and sometimes that’s not cool enough. Third, the audio system has been plagued by a terrible crackling sound when being played on any audio source-radio, Bluetooth or USB. I just had to take it in to the dealer for them to overhaul it completely as part of a warranty extension. They told me this is happening to 90% of Passports, and sometimes it doesn’t get entirely corrected. Fourth, the adaptive cruise control is SUPER sensitive. It slows down way too quickly on the interstate, even when I have it on the lowest setting. Fifth, as others have said, the 20” rims are a tad too big. They hang over the edge of the tire, and I’ve managed to scrape the front ones while curb parking a handful of times. Finally, the backup monitor only beeps for moving objects, not stationary ones. You have to be very careful when backing because of this. I nearly clipped a concrete beam in a parking garage because if this. In conclusion, this vehicle is a great value in its class, but be prepared for nagging issues. Looking forward to getting out of my lease next year.

Initial impressions excellent
Very comfortable and roomy. All the advanced electronics make for smooth driving. Automatic brights, adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, collision avoidance it’ll even automatically lock the doors when you get out and walk away. I am getting great gas mileage from my mostly highway driving 28 mpg for first thousand miles; leaving me wondering how much weight they were pulling when they did the fuel standards tests. Couldn’t be happier so far.

Super except 1 big thing
This is an amazing vehicle. Super luxurious, any trim mostly above sport. Best value was said to be EX-L but the Touring has similar look and feel as top Elite trim. Unless you need all wheel drive this is just extra cooled seats, auto dimming rear side mirrors, 1” higher ground clearance than non AWD, granted the awesome Black 20” rims are only available on Elite but the graphite on Touring are good enough without risks to getting scratches as much. And roof rack-cross beans are standard on elite along with towing hitch and rain sensor wipers. So if those are what you need then get the Elite for extra 4K. if not Touring is the a great way to have everything else great about this model. It’s sporty comfortable and I dig the push transmission. The 1 Big Thing that is unacceptable is there is no adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow. It’s frustrating that this isn’t a feature on any v6 model and dealers don’t know this info. Or care to pass it on to potential car buyers. This along with the other safety Honda Sensing features are literally half of what they are in a civic or a Accord or CRV for that matter. Yet this is the most expensive vehicle in the Honda line-up. Honda if you’re listening, explain to owners why you’d drop ACC and the let you cruise right into a vehicle if your vehicle is in Bumper to bumper traffic that drops below 20 mph. Plus also it will not steer itself back from Lang keep assist like it does in other Honda models as mentioned before. Please do an over the air update to get these features in place, or and give a reason took potential owners or current owners why this feature is not in the cars. bumper to bumper traffic that drops below 20 mph. Plus also it will not steer itself back from LKA lane keep assist like it does in other Honda models as mentioned before. Please do an over the air update to get these features in place, and/or give a reason took potential owners or current owners why this feature is not in the v6 models. All that said it’s just the Honda Sensing that keeps my 4 star from being 5. Granted I’ve had my beautiful white Touring for just a week but I’m still getting to know it. But I do know it doesn’t have these features mentioned and Honda should tell owners when they will be installed. It’s dangerous to just be let free of ACC when the car is below 20mph then boom! Your beautiful Passport has new dings. I mean This hasn’t happened to me yet but I know there are people out there this has happened to. One more thing Insurance is more expensive on this than the pilot by a long shot.

Great SUV
Love the tall stance and power of this suv. Tons of room. Great visibility while driving and my actual mpg exceeds the sticker. Very satisfied.
Great all-round car
We went from a 2018 Mercedes GLC 300 to the 2020 Honda Passport Touring. We much prefer the size of the Passport over our previous car and is a much better value along with using regular fuel and not premium. We are very pleased with the gas consumption, as over 22,000 miles we are averaging 25.6 mpg. The Passport is enjoyable to drive, comfortable, good sound system and has numerous safety features, some of which are way oversensitive, plenty of rear storage and passenger room. An advantage of the Honda Navigation over the Mercedes is the updates can be done without going to the Dealership and you get 5 years of updates included. The question is would you buy this car again. After some early issues the Passport has been rock solid over the past two years. The Garman based Navigation and several of the safety warnings could be enhanced but overall, I think this is a great car and value for the money. We do like driving the Passport and it has done fine in the snow and bad weather and is comfortable on long trips. The cost of the regular maintenance grips to the Honda Dealer have been reasonable. We are pleased with the quality and would definitely by another Passport. It is sized right between the CR-V and Pilot.

Passport 2020
I have been a long time Subaru owner. I looked at Ascent didn't want a turbo engine. With that said I went with the Passport. I like the quitness of the Honda and the engine response. Also around turns the Passport doesn't plow as much in turns. How were I think Subaru beats Honda is interior layout. I don't think I'll ever get use to the push button transmission. I would like the tach to have a gauge instead of that silly bar. I would use the bar for coolant temp. Some of the controls just fell to hand better like gas door opener, rear deck and I liked the lane clearance light on the side view mirror instead of door panel. The other two things that are driving me crazy, it seems I'm never quite confortable with the gas/brake pedal location and the car sensing oncoming traffic which I see and then braking.

So far so good
Admittedly I have only had my passport for less than a week but have put over 600 miles on it. MPG running about 27. Comfortable, handles well, smooth shifting as i drive.
Not for big people
Very nice car: responsive, handles well, great console storage between the front seats, many nice features. But the arm rests are too close to the body. They should be made to adjust outwards/telescope out. I kept putting my elbow down too rest but kept missing the arm rest. It is for narrow types, not me. Comfort is number one for me. So I kept shopping.

LOVE the Passport!
Going on our 2nd week with the 2020 Honda Passport Touring. So far its been a wonderful experience. I had a 2018 GMC Terrain Denali and I couldn't be happier with my new Honda SUV. I really enjoy how high your view is on the road. 1 day after bringing my Passport home it snowed 14". Extremely pleased with how the passport went through the snow! I did not slide at all and it took off so smooth from stoplights, etc. I cannot say this of the Terrain. The tires GMC puts on the Terrain are horrible if you live in a state with snow. We bought new all-terrain tires for the GMC after just 10K miles. The safety features are great too! Its so nice that you don't have to add these features on for an extra cost - nice job to Honda for including them on all models. The interior is generous but not too big. We have two large dogs and they fit perfectly (it was a bit tight in the terrain) as the Honda seems a bit wider. Easy to Park! Fairly tight turning radius. Interior - Everything is laid out well from the driver perspective. I also love that I can turn off the "Auto-Stop" feature if desired. Which honestly hasn't bothered me much but sometimes when you are in stop/go traffic it gets to be a bit much plus not sure how hard this has to be on the starter. The seats are more comfortable to me in the Honda as they support your back. Also, a silly thing.... but the cupholders actually hold a Large convenience store soda! I had to give up just a couple of things - heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof and auto parallel parking. The benefits of the Honda definitely make it worth giving up these 3 things. I also am enjoying the fact that my Honda should run for a LONG time. :).

Minor Complaints, Maybe I'm Just Whiny
I got a 2021 Passport Elite, coming off of a 2017 Civic Turbo that got 38 MPG. I was kind of shocked getting about 18 MPG then I read a random review that mentioned the Econ mode which I had on since day one. DO NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE IN ECON! I didn't realize how sluggish this car was until I turned it off and BAM! Superior performance and gas mileage went to almost 22 MPG. Whatever adjustments Honda did for the ECON mode are useless. I'm not used to a bigger car so parallel parking has been a real problem, it's just difficult to judge curb distance. Auto parallel parking would have been major helpful. I get random beeping (I assume from the sensors) with nothing illuminating to indicate any problem or detection of lane departure or another vehicle. My biggest problem is that the Passport looks rather dowdy. I chose quality and comfort over looks but I wish (especially the rear end) wasn't so unremarkable. I'm still super happy with the performance of the Passport overall.

Peppy Passport
Love the way the Passport drives and all the included amenities. I think it should have more sensors on the bumpers, front and back. There are no sensors in the middle of the bumpers, which is a bigger issue in the front. I also believe they went cheap with the folding side mirrors. They should fold automatically. You should not have to press a button every time you park to fold the mirrors. They could also have included a cargo net. So many vehicles do now. the changes I'm talking about would cost less then $200.00, which would allow them to charge $500 to $1000 more. Probably! The "Blind Spot" indicator should be located on the mirrors, not on the post. It's more natural to look at the mirrors then the post. Really don't understand this.

Horrible gas mileage
I purchased the 2020 Passport instead of the Pilot because I did not need a 3rd row and the salesman told me "the Passport is basically the same as the Pilot be 2 rows instead of 3 so why to pay the money for the Pilot". I've had the Passport for about 4 weeks, I have 881 miles on it and absolutely can not believe how bad it eats gas! I am getting 16.7 miles to the gallon. I've called the service department and the technician said to bring it in, which I did. He told me it's the way I'm driving the car. I must be heavy-footed! I went home and decided to go back today and drive the Pilot. As I was getting in the car the salesman said " you are going to get worse gas mileage on this car because it's heavier" I told him I actually hope he was right. I drove the Pilot for 7 miles in the same area I drive my Passport and I got 21.8 miles to the gallon and the gas needle didn't move. When I drive 7 miles in the Passport the needle significantly moves. When I got back and told him I was getting much better mileage with the Pilot than the Passport he did not know what to say! I am having the car inspected but feel I was duped. I would have been happy to pay more money for the Pilot for the better gas mileage and folded the third row down.
Perfect Silver
After two years of ownership..no problems or issues. Honda quality.... After comparing to all other two row SUV....the passport was a standout winner. Smooth performance and a pleasure to drive...**update..it has been flawless! The only thing I have an issue with is the 20inch wheels...bad choice...18inch wheels with more tire sidewall should be standard

Too big for two, who are not adventurers
It is beautiful, comfortable, spacious, looks great, drives great, has all the bells and whistles Including AWD as we were looking at the Elite. We are just not going to get the value out of the size, off road capability, storage and such to buy it. So instead we got a Honda CRV EX-L which has all the above except the size and AWD. Since we are in FL and my wife whose vehicle this is is 5’3” and petite the CRV was a much better investment. She loves it and I still kept my Maxima since I like a “drivers” car And that really is! Everyone wins but you can’t go working with either Honda model depending on your needs/ wants.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this vehicle!!!
Maguire Honda was fantastic to work with and offered the best price right from the very first call. The vehicle is exactly what I was looking for to travel and haul my 4-Wheeler with lots of cargo space and its towing package I added. I have found it is also a wonderful automobile to drive locally and do my routine local tasks. I want to be on the go all the time again just so I can be in my car. Best of all I feel very safe in this vehicle.

Nice Suv BUT
The passport is a solid suv a little on the big side runs well its quite handles well but the Technology is poor collision mitigation goes off frequently when passing oncoming traffic object detection not consistent and the auto highbeams don't function properly or at all on the passports according to service department lane departure and cruise control function well as for the engine idle stop you'll have to disable it each time the car is started or you may have to replace car battery every 2 years not sure if that's what killed the battery but it was replaced under warranty great support with tons of room just wish the Technology was better

As roomy as my lexus
I did not know that honda has something to compete with my old lexus rx 350. This Passport Elite is very roomy inside & had a very smooth ride. The interior is very well done. The screen monitor is pretty large & its got seat settings memory & power seats for both driver & passenger. It definitely gets better mileage than the lexus too! It has seamless integration with my iPhone- calls & navigation are top-notch.

Built for Disaster
I was driving down the highway when a mattress flew out of a trailer hitch diagonal from me. I couldn't swerve around it so my passport ended up hitting it head on. The mattress was completely underneath my car, box spring and all. I pulled over and my dad/brother were able to get it out. My car is COMPLETELY fine!!! 10/10 recommend buying this car.
