This is my second odyssey. As you can see, I must love the honda minivans. I find them easy to drive, esp on open highway and long trips. They are very economical and comfortable. I love the body style and the interior. Honda could have done better with the speaker system. There should have been separate speakers with independent controls for the rear of the van. The sound is too loud in the back for the back passengers and can hardly be heard by passengers in the front with out blasting the rear passengers.

We are very happy with this van. We were thinking about a sedan but decided to get the Odyssey lease instead. We have been very happy with the ride, it's sedan like handling, comfortable interior and how sharp exterior styling. We've been averaging 22 mpg around town and on our last road trip average 26-28 mpg through the mountains of PA. Better than the manufacturers 17/25 for sure! Have had no quality complaints. The ride is a little rough at times, but definitely nothing to complain about. Even my pregnant wife does not complain about the ride. Definitely give Honda a ride before making a minivan decision!

Moderate build quality at best. Tin can sheet metal that dents at the touch of a child, poor paint job, and substantial NVH presence. My biggest gripe is that I paid for leather on the sticker but the vehicle has this crappy vinyl imitation leather inside. It doesn't even feel like leather and it tears very easily. I remember better interior on my family's old 1981 Chevette. Truly pathetic.

Wonderful design for the interior allows the driver to decide everything or let it all be automatic. Comfortable, too - like driving around in your favorite easy chair. So much passenger room means many on-the-road parties. All my passengers comment, unsolicited, on comfort, fun and feeling of being safe. I do wish it were more economical on the gas mileage.

I was tired of my GM's lasting only 110k miles, so I decided to try Honda. So far it has been very good. We did notice that the power slider doors have a design issue. The kids feet fit into the door track and little stones from their shoes drop into the track and they stop the door from working. Also, the entertainment system is not easy to figure out. Overall, the van has been very reliable.

After 14,000 miles and 10 months I think it rides a little better than the first few months. Still very responsive, handles well and very stable at high speeds even near 100 mph.The engine & transmission are smooth and with a slight braiking in downhill, I feel some engine braking automatically engages in. Had a chance to drive almost new dodge grand caravan. The ride was superior to that of honda though the engine wasn't as smooth as honda. The transmission was about the same. Overall I noticed that the Grand caravan was easier to drive than honda. The Sienna has a better ride than honda but not as responsive or stable as Honda.

My Chrysler T&C LXi was refusing to start at random intervals, so I decided to get the gold standard; Honda Odyssey. I paid full retail and got a van that had a mystery groan. I owned it for three months. After 3 weeks in the shop, they'd found and welded a body joint that never got made in the factory. I refused to keep it; Honda refused to replace until we were on the verge of a BBB arbitration meeting. The replacement (which still cost me $1000 more) had a rattle in the A-pillar, a noisy front seat tray, and some buggy dome light switches. This is not the great van that I expected. It's only okay. Detroit can unpucker a little. I guess Honda's are designed and built by humans, after all.

I got the last of the 04 Odessey EX- RES for $25K_tax and title. Unbeleivable price for the bay area. $3.5K less than MSRP. The vehicle rides great and everything works perfect. Mine was built in August 2004, must be one of the last to roll of the line in Lincoln, Alabama before the new 2005s models took over. I think Honds has had time to fix every little design and build issue in the 6 years they built this truck, becuse I have not had a single problem or even a minor irritant with more than 2500 miles on the van already. I drive over 80 miles a day in long freeway stretches and the great hight visibility of the van is good, without a major sacrifice on

At 14000 miles we are generally very pleased with the van. The ride is smooth, reasonably good mileage for a van this size and performance has been very good. Excellent storage capacity for a minivan. We have no regrets in the fact we purchased this van over several other makes we researched and test drove. However, after seeing the 2005 models I wished we had waited as they have made several nice feature improvements in the 2005 especially internally. Also like the 2005 exterior styling as something different from thesame old same old style. If the van continues to perform as currently we will trade for another in the future.

Overall the van is nice, but I miss all the creature comforts that come on domestic vehicles, like outside air temp, compass, day time running lights, automatic headlights & auto dimming rear view mirror. Road noise is also very bad. No tow package available except through dealer & they want $1000 to install. Any domestic vehicle I have ever ordered it on, was never more than $300-$400.

My experience with the Odyssey has generally been good except for a major repair to the AC compressor at 11000 miles. A small stone the size of a pea penetrated the compressor and required a $450 repair at my expense. Honda claimed this was a road hazard damage. Warning to all Honda owners: There are Billions of these pea sized hazards all over the roads in the USA!! Honda needs to add deflectors in the front grill to reduce the potential damage.

Sticker was $28,230 + $490 dest + $674 DVD + $160 Doc Fee = $25,108 + tax, title & plate on 8/2/04. Invoice was $24,284 + extras; We got ours after a $500 cash back with mud flaps, cargo tray and bug deflector for $25,528 + tax, title & plates. We drove 100 miles to get our deal near Detroit and was worth it. We also bought a 2004 Honda Pilot 12/26/03 from the same dealer and got it at $300 over invoice then.

My wife went from a 2 door Honda Civic EX, to a 4 door Honda Accord LX to the Honda Odyssey EXL with Rear Entertainment System. Before this van she swore she would never drive a minivan. But, with 3 kids now it is a necessity. We both love this van. It rides very smoothly. Has lots of room and the DVD player keeps the kids occupied on long trips. The horse power is great too. We drove a 2004 Toyota Sienna when we shopped and a Chrysler Town and Country. The Sienna had a couple more bells and whistles (second row power windows, more power outlets, power lift gate) and I really like the Town and Country's stow and go seats. But I am very glad we bought an Odyssey.

we researched all of the best minivans before we purchased our Honda. We chose the Honda due to great crash rates, the roomy cabin, fuel economy. Other vans were very over priced on the sticker for the exact features we got. I dont think you should have to go in and haggle over $5,000 difference. I love my Honda!I would definitely recommend this van, in fact I have.

Traded our '04 Accord in for this because of a 2nd baby on the way and wanted more room. Boy, is there ever tons of space! It's very peppy- gets up and goes quick for a family car. Dual sliding doors are so nice with kids when my hands are full. Turns on a dime and has great visibility. Wish I could've sprung for an '05 w/ remote rear door opener.

After driving a '02 Caravan Sport with the 3.3ltr engine & 4 spd trans., test driving the '04 Honda Odyssey was a real eyeopener and proved to be very reliable for my Midwest sales rep. territory. The Honda was hands down smoother in every way and more powerful to boot. I liked my GC, but the Odyssey has me sold and I will buy the '07 Touring for our family vehicle soon. I will buy another Dodge GC also, to run 'til it falls apart, hopefully later than sooner for my work vehicle. Utility van, this time bought with 80k miles, depreciated all the way out. Would recommend Dodge or Chrysler owners at least drive the Odyssey before making the choice

This car is 10 time better than our old Chevy Venture. America should learn a thing or two regarding reliability from Honda.

We leased our Oddysey in May of 2004. My wife had just given birth to our third child and we needed the space. We got rid of our 2002 Accord and purchased the Ody. The turning radius is amazing. You can literally drive in a tight circle on the parking lot. Roomy, comfortable and the DVD system keeps the kids quiet on long trips. We like this van so much we are purchasing it now that the lease is up. The problems we had were the OEM tires, Michelins. Bald at about 30K. Also the mileage was not great. Averaging about 17 mixed driving. Reliable, family friendly and comfortable. Good vehicle.

Bought our '04 in '04. It was great and easy to use with an infant car seat. Plenty of room for those darn rear-facing car seats. Somewhat difficult teather location, but manageable. Love Hondas for their "child-friendliness" Tons of cup holders, pockets, room. Had no problems with engine or handling. My big complaint is the road noise. When we have the kids tunes on and try to talk over the road noise, we pretty much have to scream at each other. Can't listen to talk radio when on the highway, because I can't hear what they are saying over the road noise. It is really my one and only complaint.

The Odyssey 2004, seems to be the model where the generation that started in 1999 got almost perfect. Most of the minor flaws that affected previous models were corrected, on the other side it does not suffer the early glitches of the new generation (AC failures). This minivan does everything right. I've been leasing it and plan to buy. Zero problems in 3 years. Some friends driving Chrysler are already "pals" of the dealer technicians.

We bought our Ody new in 5/2004 and have put 38k on it since. Unless you plan to tow or offroad, this van is an excellent choice. It is like a good leatherman tool - it does everything you ask of it. The seats are superbly comfy, even the 3rd row is useable (an I'm 6'7"). Plus, the driving dynamics are very good for a 2+ ton minivan. Steering is nicely weighted and precise. Handling is very good. Power is pretty awesome, especially when you feel (and hear) the VTEC system kick in at around 4600 rpm. Gas mileage is respectable for such a vehicle of it's weight and power. And it runs happily on Regular, unlike the Toyota Sienna in '04 - that was a big selling point.

We bought this van in March of 2004 and had driven from Central Texas to Seattle, WA four times and twice to Orlando, Fl during that time. The minivan just had its 82,500 mile checkup. The only thing I had to replace was the break pads. Strong while climbing/driving through steep mountains at level of 10K to 12K feet high. Great fuel economy for its size and weight. In interstate can give up to 31 mpg (Wyoming & Utah), 20 mpg in the city and 20-25 mpg when you mix interstate & city traffic. I will definitely buy another Odyssey whenever is time for an upgrade. Previous minivan was a nightmare (Chrysler Voyager).

I bought the van last year as a certified used with under 36K miles. I bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty. There have been several small issues with the car. The brakes made some noise and there was a squeak coming from the back. I had to bring the car in twice to get the issues fixed (road with the head of service the 2nd go round), but overall I'm very satisfied with this car. I did just have to put a new battery in it, but the car is over 4 years old. It rides great and I find it extremely comfortable on long trips (what others call stiff, I think is support). I've bought nothing but Honda/Acura over the last 14 years and this purchase will strengthen my loyalty.

The 2nd one got 375,000 relatively trouble free miles, and my current one just passed 250,000 miles and everything on it works correctly. I hope to surpass the miles I got on the previous ones.

This is a great all around van and and does everything well. I noticed an air noise coming from around the drivers door or window. Brought it back to the dealer who gave me the run around and said it was normal and all seals were in place. Adj. the door lock and changed the oil for free, because they couldn't fix the problem. Poor dealer service and i won't use them again. Nice van and plenty of room, great for travelling and the seats that fold into the floor are terrific. Nice smooth ride and handles well. All controls are laid out nicely and within arms reach.

The Honda Oddyssey is a great car. It's been 1400 miles and has cost us very little to operate. It gets excellent mpg and the seats are perfect for long trips. Its suprisingly compact engine propels it to 60 faster than any of its competitors. But chances are your not going to care about that much. Honda's legendary reliability is very present in the Oddyssey model. In the duration that we have had it nothing has fallen off or has needed repair. It has been a God-send to me for the ease of entering and exiting the vehicle, since I have bad knees. I just sit down and swing my legs in or out. No lifting my body to climb out or in! Now I know why I see so many "senior citizens" driving around in them. It isn't just for young moms as a "grocery getter!" Comfort while driving is excellent, as we found out on two recent little road trips. I have never enjoyed a new car as much as I have this Honda Odyssey. It is worth every penny we paid for it!

This vehicle is great for my family of five. The fuel efficiency and ease of entry/exit for my children (aged 3-5) helped us choose this one over an SUV. The car has been very reliable, with no out of pocket expenses other than oil changes for the past 2 years.

Great Van - Poor Gas Mileage

The ride is smooth & powerful. But you pay for that with a lower gas mileage (17-18 MPG). The gear shift lever is in an odd position. Missing some of our 95 Caravan features (auto door locks, pwr rear hatch, remote start, etc). Yet, with these "issues", the Odyssey is a great van, and would have been excellent if the gas mileage would have been nearer to 20 MPG...
