Best Minivan/ Best Auto Maker
I drove a 2003 Windstar, 2004 Freestar, and a 2003 Sedona. I used my father-in- law's 99 T/C Limited and 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan (falling apart)as baselines for the Chrysler products. These guys are not in the same LEAGUE as Honda. We so happy we made this purchase. I don't know where to start: design, quality, structural integrity, handling, drivetrain (3.5L/240hp)...Buy the Best (Safest/Quality/Design/Engineering/ Resale) for your family, Honda! Chrysler may sell more minivans than Honda, true, but that is due to the rental fleet sales and production volume. Why do you think Chrysler introduced an "EX" model??? Still playing catch up...
Yes, Nice Work Honda!!!
This automobile has been the best we have owned in almost every way possible. I would highly recommend the Honda van for any large family.

Honda Odyseey
Excellent handling, accelleration, and braking. Quiet and comfortable ride for all. Great for getting kids and adults in and out.
happy with the purchase
Great van for a family that takes lots of little trips here and there. Not too sporty looking, but we had great customer service from Honda (not from Toyota) and loved what Consumer Reports had to say about it. The ride is a bit stiffer than my old Grand Caravan, and the dash is a bit awkward, but the reliability is what I wanted most of all this go around. See ya, Dodge!
Honda Review
Great vehicle. Reliable, drives great, lots of room, very flexible. Out performs any other vehicle in it's class - we drove them all, and the Honda was by far the best.
Great Minivan
Excellent engine/transmission. Very smooth ride. Drives like a car. Interior room huge and versatile. We have the DVD system with wireless headphones which works flawlessly. Build quality is very good and the van feels solid. Will definitely consider buying a 3rd generation ody in a few years.
Best Van for the Money
This is the best van by far!!! It is much cheaper than the Toyota and is built better than the dodge!!! A definate keeper!!!
Car
Best ever. The most comfortable drive. The "Best Buy"
reliable and sturdy
I am very happy with my Odyssey -- First of all I feel very safe being such a sturdy auto. The seats are so comfortable that you don't mind taking long drives (guests have said this too!). The navigational system has allowed me the freedom to go places I would never attempt by myself. I highly recommend this vehicle!
Great van.
This is just a great van. However, with competition from Nissan (styling) and Toyota (AWD), who have finally got the disappearing seat, it race is even now. Hopefully the next model will address it.
Honda review
This is the absolute best vehicle I have ever owned.
excellent
putyour body for 12 hours driving and you will understand
The Odyssey is Awesome
The van is the greatest. Test drive the Dodge caravan and then testdrive the Odyssey. You wont be able to resist it. The only thing it needs is a larger gas tank. Other than that I dont have one complaint.
oddssey
We love this car. It is comfortable, and fun to drive. We have had no problems with it and love it.
We love our 2004 Odyssey!
We love our Odyssey! We had a Venture previously and our Odyssey far out does the Venture in all aspects.
our first honda bye bye rover
just drive it and the rest will take care of its self.
Best Mini Van Ever
This is our 3rd Honda Odyessy. I owned a 1996 Model for 7 years, traded it in for a 2003, which I wrecked (oops) and traded it in for a 2004, which I LOVE! Rides great, has plenty of room and excellent gas milage. I am a BIG fan of Honda's. I also owned a 94 Accord...
I wouldn't have another car!
This is my very 1st time to ever own a Minivan and trust me, I Love It and I would only change it to up grade it because it would either stay comfortable or it would get more luxury! I just love the Van.... Figah
Honda of Hillside AAA
My wife and I purchased the 2004 Honda Odyssey at Honda of Hillside Ave and love the minivan and the delearship. We have owned Plymouth Voyagers, Fords Explorer and Expedition but they do not compare to the Odyssey in regards to room, comfort, and power.
Odyssey rocks since Previa is gone
Odyssey is the King of the Class: Familyroom sedans. It has way more power than it needs unless you have a boat or travel trailer. For most of us that's not an issue, and we'd love to trade 50 hp for 5 more MPGs! The Odyssey has great road feel, decent cornering, and will stop quickly enough. The TCS (Traction Control System) adds fractionally to road holding on bad roads but not nearly as much as either rear wheel or four wheel drive would. The sound system is very good. The heating and cooling work well, and quietly. The new front seat only seat heaters are a nice touch. The new leather seat covers and interior is very well appointed.
Good car
This is the best, reliable, ouality, design, fun to drive, fuel, comfort, and perforamce car I have ever drove.
Honda Odyssey
I was previous owner of a Ford Windstar until it was totalled in a car accident, perfect opportunity to buy the van I have always wanted.I've only had the Odyssey for two weeks and can compare pros and cons. The differences between the two are below.
New Odessy Owner
We just bought our Honda van and we love it, very smooth, extremely powerful engine. Runs well and handles very well also. Kids love the entertainment system and its easy for them to use.
Excellent car for your money
After shoppong for quite a while for a minivan we so pleased the find the Odyssey. It was the exact price range,a nd all the features we were looking for.
Quite a Bargain!
Honda has a way of "doing it well" with anything that they do! The Honda Odyssey provides exceptional performance (240 HP)with great gas mileage (18-25 mpg and a 5 speed auto transmission, in a 4400lb vehicle... and that's quite an engineering accomplishment. They also provide Exceptional QUALITY! Everything fits, no rattles and no squeeks.
awsome
THE CAR PERFORMS WELL IN ALL KINDS OF TRAFFIC AND IS VERY COMFORTABLE TO RIDE IN WITH CHILDREN THE DVD PLAYER IS A MUST
rating
The brake system makes a noise. Was told it is normal for these cars when I took it to the dealership. Dealership at Honda Curry - Buford hwy said this some of these vechicles have the noise, some dont. If the test car I had driven had this noise I would NOT have purchased this vehicle.
Great Deal
After spending 3 hours at a Toyota dealership we went to Honda and bought the Odyssey in 15 minutes for dealer invoice! Toyota was not willing to go below MSRP and the car had no power seats/leather seats ect... We got a great car for a great price!
elsenorbeto
Love the comfort, manuverability, style, ride and the feeling of "not" driving a minivan.
123
Peppy handling, more power than my SUV, comfortable, quiet, large interior, and reliable. Keeps its resale value, unlike domestic competitors.
Best Vehicle I have Owned
I have owned 2 other van models - a Nissan and a Toyota. The Odyssey is much better in every category. Power, Handling, Seating Configs, Quality Control, and great Gas Mileage.
Great Deal and Great Drivde
I bought my Odyssey using the Internet and Edmunds.com. this auto. My previous car, a Subaru Legacy, had died the weekend before, and I needed a car pronto. Fremont Honda responded right away, and they didn't play any games. The car had just come in that morning, and I drove it home that evening. This car has plenty of power, handles great for a minivan, and the kids love it (althought they wanted the DVD entertainment systems--sorry!). I'm getting about 20mpg in all kinds of driving, which is pretty good for a car this size.
My Odyssey
This is a great vehicle. Easy to drive, good engine performance from a dead stop and from highway speeds. The kids love the entertainment system and the fold away third seat -- when it was the only one on the market -- the greatest. Cant wait to see what Honda does next
Surprised
Overall the van is good. Took several trips to the dealership to correct the bad pull to the left. Turns out that the engine was not sitting in the cradle square. Seems OK now but still concerned. The van rides nice. I am very disapointed with the gas mileage. We are slow drivers and still only get 13.5 - 14.5 MPG around town. 22 MPG on highway.
excellent
the power is good the interior is excellent the space is very good the color is excellent engine is perfect
Honda Odessy
I traded in a Dodge Grand Caravan, best thing I ever did. The resale valus of the Dodge is terrible. I'll never buy anything but a Honda again.
Over Rated Van
Over the past 3K miles we have averaged 12-13mpg, on par with the Hummer. The dash rattles, the automatic doors sometimes work as does the DVD system. But when it does work it does produce enough static for a 3 yr old to complain. The van has times when it is very difficult to start after it has been driven and sits for a short period. Wem are currently in negotiations on a new Toyota. I do not advise this vehicle for any family.
A happy family
This is a beautiful and reliable car that can take a lot of abuse and still works and looks great. The power doors still amaze people daily.
last car was a caravan
totally reliable, very good mpg on the freeway, even totally loaded with people and stuff
Best deal in town
I love to shop for car. But being a family man my options were limited. I looked at the big three Honda, Toyota and Nissan. No one came close to offering what Honda did.The other guys prices were three thousand and more for the samre options. I take the Honda, the quality, the fit and finish and the same ponies under the hood and bank the extra cash to save up for the big screen
Good value
We traded in my wife's favorite car, a 91 Saab 900S, for an Odyssey in Jan 04. We never thought we'd be driving (and enjoying) a van, but it is simply the best vehicle for our needs (roomy, comfortable, and easily carries the sheepdog). The experience at the "no haggle" dealership was refreshing and devoid of sharks. The van was tagged at $1950 off MSRP, which was about $100 less than the nearest Internet quote. Despite the increased weight, acceleration while merging is notably faster than the Saab. Fit and finish is very high.
great van
Great car except for poor gas mileage.
Osdessy not my car
I have found the the Montana is a better car to drive than the Odessy. The Gas mileage is 25% better in the Montana. This will be my last Honda.
Still a Benchmark after 5 years
Finally bought our dream van. Researched all the others, chose the best (Toyota was not discounting the 2004 Sienna). Great value, the best design and engineering...it's a Honda. Great resale and safety ratings too. Powerful, solid body structure, great handling, good mpg. Does not have all the gimmicks that other have, just a well engineered vehicle.
Everything I wanted and more
The Ford has a couple more bells and whistles like the rear sensors and handling control but the Odyssey has better power, less noise and let's face it... what would you trust more on a cross country trip for reliability? The Navigation was a must for me since I am a Realtor. I own a 2002 Windstar and like it too but it, like it's predecessors has had plenty of trips to the shop for little things... heck, it didn't even make it off the lot the first day without issues. I still like the Windstar but think the Honda is the best choice.
Pound for Pound the Best Minivan
We looked at all the minivans (Dodge, Nissan, Toyota, Honda). The five star safety rating, options on the EX model, Price and powerful 240hp won me over.
Honda Odyssey
Drives as if you are in an airplane. Smooth and very reliable. You can almost put it in Auto-Pilot and it just glides.
What more could you ask for?
Sure, the 2005 are a lot better looking inside and out, but who's got $15,000 more dollars when you can get an 04 that's just as good. We've had ours a week. We shopped around for almost 6 months. It was between the Sienna and this. The Honda looks better outside. The Sienna has more "cubby holes" and looks a little fancier. But as far as SAFETY, RELIABILITY, RESALE VALUE, and LOOKS..Honda's got everyone beat. Your kids are the most precious thing, and you would want them to be as safe as possible... what are you going to trust? A van that's won the "Safest Car on the Road" for like 5 years now... HONDA ODYSSEY! Has that sporty feel, takes corners wonderfully, excellent for trips!
God buy
After driving Ford cars for nearly 40 years I switched to Honda because of price and performance. Friends had raved about the Odyessy and after a test drive I was sold. I haven't been disappointed.
Great Odyssey
Very fun to drive. Plenty of power. Great for the family. Good value.
