2023 and 2024 CRVs are having steering issues that hopefully have been fixed for 2025. Unfortunately, Honda America is of absolutely no help at all even though this issue is under NHTSA investigation. I love the vehicle, but two trips to the dealer have resulted in heavy dead steering and an effort to keep the vehicle in the lane. Whatever fixes Honda is recommending, it's not sufficient to provide a safe and comfortable driving experience. I've driven a 2025 model and it drives superb. If there was a guarantee that the sticky steering problem was fully resolved, I'd pay to get rid of my current 23 CRV just to get a vehicle that I'm not afraid to drive. ***Update 12/24. After haranguing both Honda and the dealer, the steering box was finally replaced in June. Two long distance roads trips later, I'm happy to report, my Honda is a Honda as it should be, no drama. Note, a recall was sent out for this very problem recently, so any buyers should be aware if the issue was fixed on any pre-owned purchase. Otherwise as stated, the vehicle performs as it should with no complaints.

The Goldilocks Compact SUV -It's Just Right

I've only had it 2 weeks, but I really like it. It's not adventurous or exciting, but it feels just right. I was smitten at first drive. The steering and brakes feel great, it's decently peppy, the CVT is not obnoxious, it's comfortable, very spacious, and everything is intuitive and easy to use. It's not cheap, and lacks some features (ventilated seats, a built in garage door opener), but it feels like a high quality vehicle. Doors go "thunk" instead of "ding" when you close them. The road noise level is a little higher than I like on some surfaces, the audio system is not the best I've ever heard, and the central display is not super hi-res, but these are quibbles. I keep coming back to how harmoniously it all works. The thing just feels good to drive. Fuel mileage is decent, running 25-30 so far. Yeah, it's sort of an appliance vehicle. By today's standards it's not opulent. It's humble. It's not too hot and not too cold. It's just right. No regrets.

Solid and quiet ride, Leather, smooth transition from engine to electric motor, not the highest mpg of the hybrid vehicles but it is All wheel drive. Roomy, wide opening doors, rear camera washer, lane keep assist works well, easy to drive. Does well for a 2.0 L non turbo engine.

DON'T BUY A HONDA even though lots are on sale right now!! Our air conditioning broke and we can't get a part. It's been three months. No end in sight. Wrote to the Canadian President of the company and zero response. Worst company ever. No one offers to help at any level.

So far the 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid delivers what Honda promises. I'm averaging around 42 mpg in combined city and highway driving. The driver's seat is very comfortable and the power adjustments are easy to use. All the safety features work well. The on screen options are relatively easy to understand and use. Acceleration is more than adequate around town or on the interstate. As I would expect, storage space is up to par, too. This is my third Honda CR-V, and it seems to me that this newest design in a big step up from the previous ones. UPDATE: I've owned my 2023 Honda CRV Sport Hybrid for about a year and half. To date, it delivers on all my expectations. The ride is smooth, it handles well, and it holds the road. Average mileage has exceeded my expectations. I usually average 43 plus miles per gallon per tank of gas, while driving both in the city and on the interstate. During a recent trip from Knoxville, TN to Franklin, TN, I got nearly 45 miles per gallon. Doing so requires that I pay attention to how I drive, but that actually helps me stay fully engaged in driving. The various assistance features work well. I have no buyer's remorse.
