I got this as I was a dedicated Honda driver, and have been for years. I came from accord coupes so I knew there would be a acclimation period. I got the ex in silver. Added led headlights and fogs myself. Speakers are notably bad in ex, and I struggled to enjoy driving due to crap sound system. The infotainment system would go nuts randomly with brightness settings and only fix was to pull over and restart car. The plastics used on speedometer, shifted, and steering wheel are incredibly cheap and scratch even with a microfiber towel cheapening they look massively. The instrument panel was by far the worst. Next I learned about oil issues and sure enough, my dipstick was well over the full line and smelled of gasoline. In winter ( I’m in Minnesota) the car would not warm up. 2 remote start cycles on a January morning and car was still cold. Entire drive to work, car cold. Would warm up on freeway but temp gauge would drop to cold at stoplights. Heated seats were only saving grace. Finally tires needed replacement at 20k miles. Mechanic reported Honda uses crap tires rated for 20-25k miles which sucked. Had to buy all new tires. Then there’s driving the car. The turbo is sluggish and eco mode is useless. It’s boring, uneventful, and slow. Feels very mini van like. I tried to get around these issues because who wants to have buyers remorse? Finally I had enough when I got lawsuit info about oil dilution in the mail. Traded in the crv for the new RAV4. Difference is night and day in terms of quality, the drive, the sound system, and overall aesthetic. If you’re older and like a slower, basic driving experience and live in a warm state, then the crv might still be for you. I’ve never been happier to be rid of something.

Had the car for 2 months, love the handling, mileage and technology. Overall very happy with it! The turbo is a little noisy when accelerating.

I purchased a 2018 CRV in October of 2018. This is my fourth Honda vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with the 1.5 turbo charged engine. I have one complaint and to me it is a big one. The vehicle will not heat up until I drive it for 10 - 15 minutes. If the vehicle is parked with the heat on it will not warm up at all. This is a major inconvenience in the winter. The windows will not defrost at all making for a hazardous driving condition. To add insult, the vehicle came with a remote start. What good is a remote start if the vehicle produces no heat??? The Service Dept. at Honda advises that there is no problem with the vehicle. According to them, there is no heat because the engine was built this way to be more efficient. You would think that after paying over 30k for a vehicle you should have heat. After checking numerous online forums it seems there are hundreds of complaints about lack of heat but Honda does not recognize it as being a problem.

Bought it new Nov 2018. Now have 18.5k miles. 99% of miles is city, stop & go. Averages 27mpg. Freeway got 38-39 mpg regular gas. Been a great car so far. No problems. Has the 1.5 Turbo but no oil dilution yet. I still check the motor oil once a week & change oil every 3k. Love the safety suite especially backing out in parking lots with 2 big pick ups on either side. Very comfortable seats. Loads of standard extras. Good cargo. Can actually put 8 foot 2x4's in at an angle & close the hatch. EZ to park & manuver. Comfortable, good economy, spacious, spunky performance, reasonable price. Only complaint is the brake hold system at a stop lite. Wish it would disengage when u accelerate from a lite rather than having to push the button to release brake. Wish this model also came with a CD player. Great car & best value in its class. Best car I have ever owned except my '61 Corvette fuelie which was a love affair & not very practical. This Honda is VERY practical. If u shop for a used Honda crv 2017-2020 with the 1.5 turbo then insist on seeing its service history looking for issues with oil dilution on that motor. Most are ok but people sell for reasons. City driving is hardest on any car but my Honda has done well so far so I have to give it a thumbs up. I traded my 2014 RAV4 for it which I also bought new w/only 8k miles. I like the Honda much better. My only other complaint is when it is 90 outside & u first start the car & turn on the a/c it blows hot air for a minute or two so then works good. I just remembered another complaint. When backing out the sensor doesn't always react to small kids or pedestrians crossing in your rear but good with traffic. Still a very good car. Oh year 1 other thing my battery went kaput after 2.5 yrs but Honda replaced it for free, no hassle. Maybe the fault of my short trips. Now has 26k miles on it. A/C works now, has a slow leak & costs $600+ to recharge it. Had the cvt oil changed. Other than that been a reliable car with no major costly issues. So far so good.

This is not the Honda of old the outside is stylish and looks as nice as any in this class. Interior roomy and comfortable with plenty of storage. the turbo adds pick up and milage but this is not a rocket but suitable for entry to a highway. The weakness may be in the interconnect with the phone which now seems difficult the car is new but I have set up many phone interconnects and this ones tough.
