2015 Honda CRV EX-L

Our family purchased a 2015 CRV EX-L in October. Since then we have put about 5,000 miles on the vehicle. I think it is a good car; however, we have run into some issues. To me, road noise seems like it is still there. I guess it depends on what you are comparing it to. My second car is a 2003 Toyota Tacoma, so compared to that, the road noise isn't bad. Second, the CVT: It isn't bad; however, after the car has warmed up, the shifter is in drive, engine is idling, and the car is stopped, you can notice a significant (annoying) vibration. Finally, at lower speeds it has the feeling you get when driving a manual and you have accidentally shifted from 1st gear to 3rd. Update after two years... Good car. I don't notice vibrations anymore. I think we just got use to it.

They hands-free capability to place a call using voice recognition does not work. The system does not recognize a phone number that has been tagged with a voice command. Check this feature out if it is important to you.

Not what Honda said it would do

Bought 2015 Honda CRV LX February 28, 2015. Started out using ECON, but the bogging down and vibration was just too much for me, so I switched it off. I only get 23 MPG city, 25 MPG highway. The sticker says it will get 34 MPG highway. I had a 2006 Honda Civic 9 yrs. and it got 40 MPG highway, so I am extremely disappointed in the gas mileage of the new CRV. I needed more room for traveling. I also noticed there is a lawsuit to Honda for the vibration in the motor of the CRV. I hope there will be a recall in the near future for the motor.

2015 Honda CR-V Touring 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl CVT)

In spite of reviews that say this is a great car, we found it to be considerably lacking in almost every way. We opted for the Touring model and have regretted it ever since. The lane keeper and braking assist have minds of their own. The brakes will apply themselves when it "sees" a vehicle in the next lane exceeding a 45 degree angle. Not a good feeling having your brakes applied hard at freeway speeds that could possibly cause rear-end collisions, and a definite safety issue. Lane keeper assist constantly beeps at you even though you are in the correct portion of the lane, or will attempt to steer you down an exit ramp if you are not paying extra attention. We have had the dealer check the camera calibration and they say all is well. What is even better is that we had to take a trip to northern climates in the winter. Road spray froze into a thin layer of ice on the bumper which disabled all of the safety features. Additionally, the windshield washer fluid froze and we could not clean our windows. Not sure how they can sell cars with these features up north. We have disabled these features which renders paying the extra amount for them a waste of money. Hondas attempt with the safety features are a good start but are not ready for mass production. Interior road noise is also loud. At the price paid for this vehicle you expect more - therefore it is not a good value. The voice recognition in the navigation system is abysmal. Lastly, we are on our third battery in 2 years. Again, the dealer says everything is fine. Attempted to trade it after the latest battery issue and found their resale value is not as it was in the past. Have been a loyal Honda/Acura owner for over 20 years but this is the last one we will own.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR!!! UPDATED

Update 2020: I got rid of this car. Best decision of my life. No more violent shaking while at red lights. Had to cut my losses and buy new car with a 6 year amount of payments to get rid of it but I’m glad I got rid of this car. 2019: I have had this car over 2 years, basically stuck with it after I tried addressing Honda with my issue of the car’s RPM issue. It still shakes violently at red lights and I am at 79k miles. I won’t be buying Honda ever again. I bought mine pre-owned and it had 16,000 miles on it. When I went to drive it with no AC on due to cooler temperatures, it started to shake like it needed a tune up while in drive at a red light. The idle is very rough once it gets to 500-600rpms while at a red light. After doing research, I found thousands of complaints for the same issue from other Honda owners. There is a couple class action lawsuits. I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN BEFORE BUYING MINE. I would have bought a different car. Also, when I am going down a hill the transmission revs and gets stuck at 3000-4000RPM and then bucks as I get to even terrain. It’s scary and I don’t feel safe. Also, I have been to a couple Honda dealers and the TSB was performed but the car shakes worse! I even took videos to take to a lawyer. Honda claims my shaking car is “operating as designed”. UNACCEPTABLE and please don’t make the same mistake as me by buying a Honda! UPDATE 10/31/18: I really hate this car. I have done all required and suggested maintenance for this car. It violently shakes while I am in drive at red lights in drive gear at low RPM. This car is a lemon. It got worse and and now even if I turn up AC air fan it is still noticeable to passengers and myself, the car continues to shake. Honda claims that this is the way the car was designed to operate. I WILL NEVER BUY A HONDA AGAIN. If I could I would get rid of this car.
