Buy this car!
Bought this car new in 2000. I had owned Honda cars in the past and trusted them to be reliable. As of today (5 May 08), my trusty CR-V has nearly 150,000 mile on it and still runs perfectly. All I have done is change all the fluids regularly and drive it gently. I changed the timing belt at 100K, but other than that, it has never been in the shop for anything. Still has the original brakes. Paint is still in good shape, too. I like the fabric seats. Tons of space in the rear. Easy to clean. I'd buy another in a heartbeat, but I don't think this one will ever wear out.
not for me
We found the seats to be very uncomfortable. None of the cupholders in front are usable, can't even make small turns without everything falling over and spilling. You can't set somethng on the floor and expect it to stay they, things slide everywhere. We do like the folding table and the cd changer under driver seat. Gas mileage is good.

Great buy for your $$$
We purchased this car 0 miles, today the odometer reads 155,000, besides regular maintenance (brakes oil, gas!) this car has given us no problems. It's true what they say the car does not have a lot of power on the road but it drives great, it's very spacious inside, it drives great in snow, and you can't beat the gas mileage. My wife loves it so much we are trading in for another CR-V and we hope we enjoy it for many more years.
First Car
I purchased this as my first car and it's fantastic. The 5-speed was one of it's major selling points for me but the excellent quality and safety record were important to my parents. I have had no problems with this car thus far, even with 85k miles on it. The car isn't blazingly fast but the 5-speed makes it fun to drive anyway. I agree that it needs more power though, if the engine is under 3500 rpm, good luck moving with any ounce of agility. The only other downfall is the goofy auto-window switch placement. It's right on the dash; hard to get used to. Overall the car is excellent and very roomy, even for my 6'5" body and my equally large friends. Kudos to Honda for the large backseat.
Wonderful vehicle
I'm approaching 100,000 miles on this car, which I brought new. Am very pleased with its performance. Have only had it serviced at Honda dealer using Honda's maintenance schedule. Still on first set of brakes.
