Blind spots a killer.
The only thing I like about the car is the exterior design. The seats are uncomfortable and cheap. The armrest is worn out already. The sun visors are broken. The drivers side is getting ready for it's third one. I will give honda credit for the leg room in the back seat. The front pillars create a huge blind spot and you can't see anything. Besides that, the car is very reliable. I woudn't get another one.
Okay For Its Price Range
I love and hate this car at the same time. Love the interior/exterior styling of it. Having the Navigation is great. But it's no fun to drive. Choppy and hesitant. Don't know if it's throttle or transmission related. Post service to address this issue has been in vain. Very unimpressed with Honda service. Feel like I'm stuck with a car that's not quite right. Will probably trade the car in this coming year.
Great little car
I bought my Civic in November of 2005, one of the first 8th gen civics in my area. It been a great car, very reliable and perform well. With the exception of check engine light for and 02 sensor twice, I have not had it in the shop for anything. It still looks great.
Poor Reliability
From the time that we bought this vehicle new from a dealer, we have been disapointed. Within a few weeks the battery failed, and was replaced. Within a year the condensor of the airconditer failed and was replaced. Due a manufacturers defect the exhause bubbled the rear plastic bumper, and Honda denied responsibility. At 35000 miles the struts wore out and honda denied responsibility. At 60000 miles the air conditioning compressor failed. At 75000 miles both the front struts and rear shocks failed causing a $900 repair and then a new set of tires. So the struts failed twice in 75000 miles. There is no warranty, and Honda denies culpability.
Ideal Companion
After more than two years of ownership and more than 40k on the odometer, our 06 Civic EX w/Nav remains an ideal companion. The car offers sharp handling, hi-revving, if slightly underpowered engine, sharp hi-tech and roomy interior, comfortable, firm seats and superb navigation and voice recognition systems. Even after extensive and rather heavy use, the interior exudes a high-quality feel of a much more expensive sedan. The ride is European firm and the wind noise at high-way speeds is pronounced. Still, we are thrilled with our decision to have purchased a Civic. For a price of an econo-box, we received a sophisticated, sharp, reasonably sporty vehicle that continues to delight
