I love it!

I have had this car for three thousand miles and I love it! The shifts are always smooth, has adequate pickup in low rpm range if you want to get good gas mileage, but stomp down on the gas and you really go! Disappointed with quality of peripherals. Bought the car used with 53k, after 1k miles needed a new idler pulley. Fixed the idler pulley and they told me that the tensioner pulley bearing is going bad too. Not to mention spending 10 hours getting my third gear fixed. While I did that I had to get my sun visor replaced ($75) it was falling apart. All in the first month of my owning (53-54k miles).

Great little car

I previously owned a tuned 2003 Ford Mustang GT, but got this Civic because I was driving 70 miles round trip to work everyday. The civic gets great mileage, 35-40mpg on the highway. Unfortunately, I've had to have the water pump and ac compressor replaced. But that was done under warranty, and other than oil changes, tire rotations and gas, I don't have to spend any money on her. The only downside is that there are some serious blind spots around the C pillars in the back that make it extremely difficult at times to change lanes. I love the two tiered instrument cluster and the Ipod jack. I wish she had more power, but I love the great mileage.

I do not miss my 5 speed manual Accord. This automatic keeps me busy, watching all the readouts, trying to maximize my fuel efficiency, while reducing global warming. Driving has almost become like land surfing, using the topography to propel as much as possible before applying the pedal. It's surprising how many times the hare and the turtle (Hybrid) end up in the same place at the same time. I save my brakes, am less likely to get into a serious accident not to mention less pollution in the atmosphere and the obvious saving the ever increasing dollars at the pump.

Over all I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Performance, fuel, economy and looks are all up to par on this car. I sold my 04 RSX type S for this and i believe it was a good choice.

I just turned 2500 miles on mt 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. I have had no problem acheiving over 50 MPG city driving now that the weather has turned warm. Just got back from a 700 mile highway trip. I drove mainly interstate highways. Kept the speed at 65MPH or under for part of the trip and got 48 MPG returning I drove at 70-75 MPH and got 54MPG. I ran the AC when the weather turned hot and watched my MPG fall significantly. Looks like 36-38MPG is to be expected when running the AC.
