Used 1999 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
I Love My Civic!
I have owned my Civic for nearly 10 years. It is by far the best car I have ever had. I have done the necessary maintenance throughout the years. As a result, it has been very reliable and I've had no mechanical problems with it at all. It gets great gas mileage and is an inexpensive car to own/maintain. I would definitely purchase a Civic again.
Great Buy
I've had this car since my senior year in High School. Nine years and one son later I still enjoy my silver civic. Paint is still holding up and still looks beautiful under the the California sun. True it has a bit of sentimental value but it also has monetary value. I've kept up the maintenance with no problems at all; great. The cabin does gets a bit noisy during freeway but not a huge issue. You learn to be frugal as a teenage father and college student; so this purchase made life a bit easier. When you want reliability turn to good ol' Honda.
excellent
I had a 1998 Pontiac sunfire, which I had problems with, and at eight months old I tried to get rid of it and Hawley Pontiac would not even look at it because I did not want another Pontiac vehicle. I walked accross the street and bought my Honda Civic, 1999, I have had it for three years and have not had one problem. I love it and would buy any Honda again--Maxi
becoming very rare
I really enjoyed driving my Si. The only problem I had was a bad strut. This car is very popular with thieves so if you buy one be sure to put an alarm on it. Check the vin to make sure that the car you are looking at is really an Si. Mine was stolen twice and both times the Si specific features were taken.
I'll keep it until the wheels fall off
Has it been 10 years? I used to live very close to work, so my Civic only has 95,000 miles on it. Had to replace the exhaust line (Ohio winters mean salt trucks) but otherwise no serious issues. Had the fuel filter replaced, new plugs, timing belt and a tune up around 85,000. Someone asked me why I buy cars (depreciating asset) instead of leasing - this is why. Mechanic says this car is just getting warmed up and I haven't had a car payment since 2003.
