We were looking for most reliable, comfortable, low maintenance cost car that would drive tall guy from A to B. It should be powerful and with good MPG… We have tested Optima, Sonata, Mazda 6, Outback, Escape & Avalon. I fell in love with Accord 2016...Instantly, so I am biased now :). From the moment I sit in a car it was easy to see myself driving it. About Accord: 1) I do like 2016 design for its aggressive front stylish rear and sporty sides. Beautifully designed front grill and wheels. 2) I do like Android connectivity. Based on reviews I was looking for EX-L with no navigation and sensing. I love my google map on Galaxy and Honda gives you an amazing technology to “mirror” your screen for several apps like Pandora, Google map, Amazon music, Phone/text etc simply connect it by USB cord (1.5 amp). I love google map (free updates) so there is no need to pay extra for Honda navigation & its expensive updates. Also Bluetooth works just fine when my galaxy connected via cord… not sure about IPhone. BTW, it does connect Skype conversation which is amazing. 3) Speech recognition is very friendly! Click on microphone and send message to any number while driving … it’s pretty accurate. 4) I do love power of V6 and automatic transmission. It’s beyond Optima &Sonata options with much better fuel efficiency. (Honda’s 278 HP and 21/34 mpg VS Korean 2.0 turbo with 20/ 31mpg). When you click economizer button accord makes it even more efficient. With V6 it does turn off 3 cylinders on a freeway and my avg mpg is about 40 or higher. 5) It’s Quiet. It’s a truly quiet vehicle. We test drove Optima & Sonata and the road noise was a killer. We could not hear each other… no exaggerations. May be a little. 6) Also Honda sound system is amazing! EX-L does have 7 speaker system (6+1) and the quality is outstanding much better then Infinity system in Kia. Pandora Jazz#$%^& just phenomenal. 7) We saw very good Mazda 6 reviews online but we didn’t like the car. 8) We think Honda Accord has made a big step forward in design while nice & attractive Optima became more & more boring and Camry… what have you done!? 9) Acceleration is amazing, turning radius is good. 2nd row is super roomy (5’11” person sits very comfy behind driver). 10) Good Michelin tires with pretty 17” discs. 11) Crosstour was an option as well but price was higher and it’s discontinued… First tank of gas gave us 26 mpg avg fuel efficiency. With second one we have a little above 28. We do like exterior white color a lot. It comes with ivory interior which is nice but requires a bit of cleaning.

Hi all,I am sharing my car buying experience with all , hope it will be helpful to those who are thinking of buying a new car. I live in California.Car purchased on December 28, 2015 : 2016 Honda Accord EX with Honda Sensing, White Exterior MSRP on this car was $28115 and dealer invoice cast was $25777 Price paid $24000+ DMV and Sales Tax = Total OTD -Out the Door $26302.15 I don't have excellent credit, but I was able to get %2.2 for 72 months from a credit union. My experience sharing with potential car buyers:Online research helped me a lot to select the car I wanted and to get the right price. I read many forums. I am trying to return favor to online community through this comment.I was doing online research for long time almost for 4 weeks. First up all I wanted to buy a 2-3 year old used car to save myself from big hit of depreciation cost which happens mainly in first 2 years, but then I wasn't able to find a car with all recent safety features. So finally I made my mind to get Honda Accord with Honda Sensing Features. I found these features are very cool and I am amazed to know how useful they are just after driving about 250 miles. I didn't wanna spend another few thousand dollars to get Touring or EX-L trim, I found EX with Honda Sensing is 'Value for Money ' package. Before settling on Accord I test drove many cars which were in my budget. On Truecar.com best target price was $24554. My target was to get a deal better than that. I read and experienced all dealership's strategies, marketing tactics. In beginning , I visited neighborhood dealerships tried negotiations, but was worthless. Dealers makes most of the money by selling you financing through them, by selling extended warranty , GAP insurance and selling(forcefully selling) accessories. I have seen dealers charge anywhere from $500 to $1000 just for aftermarket alarm security system. After you buy car you can get this system fitted in your cars for way less money. They try to sell you wax polish packages, now a days factory paintings is so state of the art, I personally dont think it is important, at least not at expensive price from dealerships. Their GAP insurance is always very expensive, I got one through my Auto insurance provider for $15 per 6 month. Anyways if you still want few useful genuine Honda (factory) accessories, you can always buy them later from any dealerships at discounted prices later, look for coupons on their websites under specials. Or just send emails to parts departments get quotations, ask for discount, and compare quotes. Most of the dealerships want you to invite you to store instead of giving you upfront quotation by using their marketing tactics , please don't fall to their tricks , be a strong buyer, your goal should be save your hard earned money. They try to focus on monthly payment, instead you should tell them I am focusing only on sales price nothing else, do your monthly car payment calculations on google. My advise to potential buyers:When I decided I want to buy 2016 Accord EX with HS , what I did is went on autotrader.com, cars.com and carsdirect.com entered the car, trim level and color I am looking for. I searched for 200 miles radius around my residential zip code. I found as many as apx. 50+ cars were in stock at different dealerships in Orange, San Diego , LA , San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Then I sent emails/messages to all these dealers through cars.com and asked them about my target price. I started getting email replies to my inbox within few hours. Few dealerships sent me there internet pricing with there terms and condition in smallest fond size. I went and visited one of the dealership which is about 40 miles away from home, found out they were playing games, when I went there they told me they did a mistake and accidentally quoted me different car, then finally agreed to honor the quote of $23500 but at condition to finance through them (Honda Financing) at ridiculously higher Interest rate, obviously I walked out of the dealership. Then I came home and emailed these dealerships who had this particular car in stock, about written quote with OTD pricing on it, clearly told them I will not buy any extras. I got 3-4 competitive quotes around $26300 OTD (~$24000+ tax and dmv) pricing in writing. So on Monday 12/28/2015 I drove into one of the dealership who gave me $24000+ tax and Dmv quote. Car had 2 miles on it, test drove it for 1 mile. Saw sticker had $995 alarm system added on it, told clearly to salesman that I am not gonna buy any extras. He said he will not change his words and there will be no surprises. Went inside after test drive. He printed the numbers on paper. The price he presented was exactly same as we agreed through email conversation. I signed the papers and option contract paid my down-payment through card. I reached at dealership at 7 pm and I was out with my brand new car at 8 pm.

Fabulous Accord - Honda Does It AGAIN

There were BIG changes made with just about all of the mechanical aspects of this car. The outside appearance is about the same as prior years. Having had it less than a month, it is more sporty.... this car purrs as moves along, our prior Accord was extremely quiet and business like. The 2016 feels so different, as well as sounding different. The suspension is improved. we like the wheels MUCH better. We can't rate maintenance cost, or resale value but our prior Accord was outstanding, which is why we bought another one. But the 2016 is not just another one. We didn't know what was in store when we bought it, not entirely. After a very short time owning this outstanding value, so much for your money, we are so very, very glad we did buy it. The only thing that needs any attention is the navigation. It does not work as well, as smoothly, as our 2008 Lexus. We hope that a technician can improve it's performance....

I'll start and end this review with the same thought: pricepoint. I did my research and suspected this car to be a great value, with the dealer discounts and great service. I drove it once. The second time I drove it (after driving other, similar mid-sized sedans, Mazda, Toyota, Ford), I drove it home. Why? While it may not be #1 in any category by which I or anyone else values vehicles, it hit the top 2 or 3 in just about every category I was looking for in an affordable, efficient car. It holds value, gets good mileage, and is reliable. The Honda service is excellent (look it up). Great cargo space, comfortable (and biggest of all comparable cars, I felt) interior, great safety features. Great re-sale value in 3 years..... I like that. A lot. The CVT was a mystery to me. I broke the car in, then started testing the transmission. It is an entirely different driving experience from any car I have ever owned. In short: fun! I could drive a CVT car without paddle shifters, but I think I would miss the fun of engine braking and challenging myself to nail a good rpm setting. I can see why Honda offered this package with a Sport label. With the CVT, the forced paddle downshifts are smoother than downshifts on the other transmissions. Paddle-downshifting this car into a sharp turn is a breeze. Highway on-ramps? Drop it into 'S" and manually (yet more smoothly and more quickly than manual or automatic) upshift until you are at highway speed, then bring it back to "D", set the cruise. and let the CVT get you 35 mpg. The electronics are basic, but very functional. I don't care about navigation in my vehicles, as I have a cell phone with GPS. So does everyone else I know. Bluetooth and USB are easy to use and nearly fully controlled on the steering wheel. Climate control is adequate. The trunk is impressive, and the seats split 60/40. These features are worth noting for those on the fence between a sedan and a crossover or full-fledged SUV. This car handles very well, with smooth steering and manipulative suspension. By that, I mean one can still drop that nose into a corner, like the Accords of old. Some out there will know what I mean. For the price, I cannot recommend a vehicle with more value, reliability efficiency, and ... the "F-factor" ... fun. "Value"... so subjective. Consider bang-for-the-buck, resale, maintenance, technology, mileage, performance, safety, service, insurance, cargo space, interior space... Taken altogether, the Accord Sport is a diamond in the rough at this price point. It outshines more expensive vehicles in every category aforementioned, yet it can be had for <$23,000 out the door. The money the buyer saves on maintenance and fuel , coupled with the performance, should push any "used luxury" buyer (you know who you are, I am you) toward the 2016 Accord. One just has to drive it.

I recently migrated from a 2002 Accord Coupe EX V6 and so far I could not be happier with this new car. I was concerned about moving to a 4-cylinder but it has enough pep to get the job done. The sporty look, inside and out, along with the paddle shifters for manual mode add enough juice to it I am not missing the V6. All the chrome trim inside with the aluminum peddles really make it feel like a more pricy European vehicle. I'm was pleasantly surprised at how roomy the back seat is. I expect the same quality I have come to appreciate from Honda.
