Used 2014 Honda Accord Sedan Consumer Reviews
School of hard knocks, get what you pay for.
Edmunds asked for an update, so here it is...33,000 miles later i don't have one bad thing to say. I've had 3 oil changes, put gas in it and not had a single warranty issue. I average 28mpg combined and easily push 38mpg over several hundred mile highway trips. Previous review: In the market for a new car and a previous Accord owner I jumped ship to a 5th Gen Nissan Altima. On paper it made sense, it offered features the Accord didn't at thousands less. 2 transmissions, a new radio, nre moonroof, rattling dash, and rear deck later Nissan was finally forced to buy it back under lemon law. Back to the Honda lot I went and bought a 2014 EX-L V6 Touring. I'll say the car delivers. It's solid, quiet, fuel efficient (significantly better real world mileage over my 4 cyl Altima) and styled as aggressively as I'd like. The ground doesn't light up when I open the door and the seat doesn't 60/40 split (cmon Honda?), but I'm in love with the ride and comfort. Don't agree w/the seat complaints, 10 way pwr suits my bad back!

The 2014 Honda Accord EX-L 4cylinder
I have driven about 23000 miles on my Accord prior to writing this review. This is my 3rd Honda and the interior in this trim level is upscale and quieter than previous Hondas. The CVT transmission is responsive and takes a little getting used to and does make an annoying whining noise at times. However the car is responsive and provides you with adequate power when needed. The Accord handles well especially with the lighter 4 cylinder chain driven engine. I really like the electric assist power steering, it makes a big difference. The infotainment system on this trim level and higher is not as complicated and hard to use as the automotive press and many YouTube reviewers will lead you to believe. It's a Honda so maintenance is minimal change the oil when the maintenance minder warns you, rotate the tires and follow the "manufacturer's" maintence schedule and it will provide you with many years and miles of reliable service. I am unsure of the overall longevity and durability of the CVT only time will tell. The EPA fuel economy estimates seem very optimistic compared to what my onboard mileage computer is telling me: about 24-25 mpg in a combination of city & highway driving.

Car stalls and doesn't crank
I wouldn't recommend buying the 2014 Honda Accord. It has a major safety issue and it isn't reliable. I've called AAA several times for a jumpstart. The dealer says there isn't a problem with the car but they are WRONG!. I just paid over $800 to replace the defective starter that the manufacturer repeatedly advised me there wasn’t a problem.

This Honda is the best Honda I have ever owned.it is a thrill to drive. The sport mode with the shifter paddles makes it drive like a manual transmission. It has plenty of power expecially using the sport mode. It has a sporty feel while driving it. It really hugs the road. The seats are really comfortable and the material is awesome. I love the carbon fiber. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and feels awesome. The tinted glass is really nice. I have nothing bad to say about this car.
