I bought my 2013 Accord LX 3 months ago with 120k. I've put about 5,000 miles on it already and I'm very happy this far. The K24W1 is peppier than I'd expect for a 4 banger and the 6 speed manual feels exactly like a Honda manual should, tight and notchy. The suspension is comfortable without being soft, and it still handles decently well. The cargo space is pretty good, and maintenance access is all pretty easy for the most part (except the fuel filter). My only real complaint is that MPG isn't as good as I'd expect for a 4 cylinder with me averaging 25 pretty consistently with mixed driving, but I am admittedly a bit of a lead foot, so I won't rag on it too much.

I looked and looked for a 1 owner car and found it. I scanned the internet used car postings for weeks until I found what I was looking for. The same day this trade in was posted for sale by our local Mercedes dealer, I went to look at a 2013 ACCORD 4dr. LX. The car was in "like new condition" except for few tiny paint chips on the hood, it had 88k on the odometer and a clean 1 owner car fax with all service up to date. I drove it and found an old insurance document in the glove box with the previous owners name on it. I googled her name and found out it had been owned by a 75 year old lady that had just passed away. Back to the car, it looks and drives like new, I'm having none of the rattle, vibration, cvt, or wind noise issues reported by others on this site. The cars drives like a dream, accelerates wonderfully and much to my surprise, the gas mileage I'm getting is considerably higher than advertised by Honda. I am consistently getting low to mid 30's around town and upper 30's to high 40's highway. In fact, on a recent weekend drive from Sonoita Az. to Tucson (about 50 miles) I got a whopping 54 mpg albeit driving from 4000 ft elevation to 2300 over a 50 mile distance. My only complaint is that it had the dreaded sun visor sag! About 50-75 dollars for a used one. I drove Prius previously………never again!

I absolutely love my Accord, this my third one and I wanted this generation (9th gen 2013-17) because it is the only generation of Honda's that have LaneWatch - which might seem silly but I use it more to just be extra aware of my surroundings. I owned my previous Accord (07 LX Sedan) for 6 years and after driving and researching I will always drive Honda. They hold their value, excellent safety, and they have a little pep so it's not boring to drive. The only thing I would change is if I could get my car but with a V6 6-Speed, either way I'm keeping this car for at least 5 more years or longer!

It's a Honda. And despite the slap of the 2011 and 2012 models, the 2013 Honda is back. My mom had a Honda 600, a CVCC Civic, and a CRX. Dad had an '87 Accord. We have an Odyssey, a Civic, and now we have a brand new Accord. I'm not married to Honda. We looked at Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, and Volkswagen. Our new Accord is not even through its first tank of gas. My first impressions: Highway, 38MPG with the "Econ" button pushed. 26MPG in town. We have the EX-L 4-cyl with all the nice gadgets. The rear-view camera with three modes is great. The lane departure and distance warning are pretty weak and unreliable. Fit & Finish are excellent. Power is great. Ride is a little firm Follow-up Impressions: Driving down the central valley from Davis, CA to Mission Viejo, CA, I got 42.5 MPG for the first 300 miles. Getting into hillier country at the end reduced the overall 450 mile average to 40 MPG. I still made the entire drive with a little less than a quarter of a tank of gas left. Last Impressions: My Accord may have saved my life. It certainly saved me from injury. I was stopped, and got rear-ended by a Hyundai sedan going about 40 MPH. At least it push my Accord about 40 feet, and accordioned the rear end right up to the back of the passenger seat. The car was totaled after only two years of ownership. I walked away with a skinned knee.

Fantastic Car

We've owned our 2013 Accord Coupe EX (4 cyl.) since March of 2013. We bought it new. We have never owned a more reliable car. With over 150,000 miles now it has never let us down except for a dead battery once (not the car's fault). We've gone on cross country road trips through heat, dust, snow, and ice. We still use it as our daily driver. It has decent pep and handling with great gas mileage. We've been religious in simple maintenance and have never had a major issue. The CVT is actually really good too. I was worried about it initially, but it has proven to be reliable. It stays in the power band under hard acceleration but simulates gears when driving conservatively. The paint and interior has also held up well. We even had a toddler in the backseat spilling things everywhere when the car was new. You'd never be able to tell now. I'm sure the black cloth seats have helped in that regard. Overall it's a great car. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants something with good gas mileage. It's a great daily commuter car.

My 2013 Accord EXL has been a great car. I have 65000 miles to date and the only expenses have been for tires; batteries; oil changes/filters and brakes (once). Highway gas miles are 33 -36 mpl. But that's what i expected from Honda. I still own a 2001 Civic w 89000 miles and the only major repair was a timing belt!!

Switching to this car from my 1999 Nissan Maxima, I expected to be disappointed on handling and performance. The handling has been a pleasant surprise, as the car drives like many far more expensive sports sedans that I've driven. Performance was as expected, like a 4 cylinder with a rubber band transmission, but it is especially disappointing getting onto expressways. The seats are brutal. My wife, who has back issues but is comfortable in our 2010 Odyssey, 2002 Toyota Avalon, and 2022 Toyota Sienna, simply cannot ride in any seat in this car. The headrests force you into looking at your knees, the seats feel like cardboard with a plywood backing. I wanted to love this car, but I can't wait to be rid of it.

I lost my Accord Sport 2015 recently in the accident. Ford Escape hit me in the driver's door on 80km/h approx. Two airbag were deployed and I had no one scratches even, thanking God and Honda as well. So, with the limited budget what car I decided to buy? You're right, I bought Accord 2013:) One owner, low mileage (less then 80k miles), very well cared. Somebody may say I'm stupid. Ok, fine:) But I know that car as of myself, I know how to keep it in perfect condition mechanically, etc. etc. Finally, that car saved me so I have enough reasons to stay with. I'm 63, I like more classic design, I like how it drives and fell of myself very comfortable in. Never regret buying Honda.

Yes, my 1st Honda so expectation was high. I have gotten a Nissan Frontier & Sentra before and had owned and driven countless others. Before getting this I was debating between Toyota Camry & Hyundai Sonata; didn't test drive and went straight to Honda instead. Good = Roomy & comfy w/ nice design. ect.. Bad = Wind noise! Cold reverse doesn't catch so fast. Black fabric is a lint magnet. Done.

Do Not take for granted the excellence of the 2013 Honda Accord. It is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned (63 years young here) The ease of operation is unmatched. Today's vehicles with their thoroughly annoying infotainment panels are enough to continue driving 2013 Accord a Sport until the wheels fall off. Why they ever messed with and removed the smooth of easy to use knobs and buttons is beyond me. PLEASE PLEASE bring back the display panels that were implemented during the 2013 to 2016 era. With knobs and buttons that will keep up safe while driving and happy

Overall I'm happy with this car. Looks nice, fun to drive, good gas mileage and comfortable. My only beef with this car is the poor quality stereo system. During the test drive my focus was on so many things that I that I really didn't check the sound system out like I should have. I took it for granted that Honda put in a good stereo like on my last Honda. They didn't! Honda, if you read these reviews, please come up with a fix for this.

After a couple months, 5,000 miles and a road trip here's my take on the Accord. Fuel economy is outstanding, equal or better than the EPA estimates. 36+ on the highway typically cruising 5+ over the posted speed limit. 33 mpg combined since purchase but admittedly much of it was hwy miles. The car is designed around fuel efficiency. The Ambient meter is a brilliant but simple reminder giving instant feedback of your driving habits. The cabin is much quieter and improved over previous models. The CVT transmission takes a little getting used to but not a big deal. In fact the more I drive it the more I appreciate it's smoothness. The stereo reads the media quickly and sounds good.

Prior to purchasing this car(2013 EX sedan) I was driving a inherited 96 Galant that had 145,000+ miles on it. I only had it for about four months when major things started failing one after the other(radiator,a leak in the rack and pinion etc). I made a bad investment fixing some things because the car had sentimental value but you live and you learn. Now I have my new baby. This is my first new car and I'm 31. I paid for it in full so I have that new car syndrome where I don't want anyone to park near me in fear that they'll scratch it(I have it in black crystal). I love the exterior. It looks like it is really packing some muscle under the hood. You feel a little bumpiness but its not bad.

115,000 update: Car performs same as it did when bought. Very satisfied to date 75,000 update: CVT (transmission) still jerking at 10 mph cruise (problem in stop and go traffic for metro areas) Gas Mileage is unbelievable. ECO mode @ 65 mph from Charlotte to New York and back - 45 MPG with 38 psi in tires. 70 mph usually get 39 MPG. 75 mph 35 MPG, etc. Dealer fixed the break pad bracket (recall) Trunk floor cannot get wet...I had to replace and re carpet myself Maintenance minder schedules oil changes about every 9,000 miles (based on driving conditions) Still have on the factory tires, probbably need new ones within a year Really hard to complain about the car: reliability has been great for 4 years 13000 miles and going. Interior a plus (leather and all the bells and whistles) Software is lacking. Audio has demonstrated software problems. delay in the Wiper system has already malfunctioned. Gas Mileage is amazing @ 36 average...sometimes 39. Extreme delay in initial acceleration with CVT transmission-Would prefer the gears. Overall a sharp looking car. So far has proved to be reliable. 89 out of 100

It's a Honda, not a Mercedes, so my expectations weren't that high to begin with. The 4 cylinder model is not a race car by any means, but the CVT does a decent job at putting the power down where you need it and delivering a nice smooth take off from a stop night. It can feel a little slow and underpowered at first, but once you're up to speed it feels comfortable. Drives in a straight line, easy to keep a constant speed, low rolling resistance, and it steers with precision and refinement around corners. I find the steering to be too loose and over-assisted, sometimes over bumpy pavement especially around curves I have a hard time keeping the wheel placed in one spot because of how loose it feels...but it still delivers a precise and agile feeling. The brakes could be better, they vibrate a little and it sometimes requires finesse to get the car to stop smoothly, but they provide a nice firm response and a solid bite. The car also jerks when slowing to a stop, usually around 10 mph, but it's nothing severe that would bother me. I've had cars with far more annoying jerks and clunks, so a little bit of jerkiness here and there doesn't concern me. In stop and go traffic I find the CVT performs well, it delivers a smooth take-off unlike some traditional automatics that tend to hunt for gears in traffic. The ride quality could use some improvement, it's quite harsh and violent over bumps. The leather seats in my EX-L model are quite hard and unsupportive, I often feel like I'm sitting "on" the seat rather than "in" the seat. I find the overall feel of the cabin is a bit cold and utilitarian. Handling of the vehicle is adequate for the class. It has somewhat of an "old school" Honda zippy feel, but a great amount of that classic Honda feeling was lost due to government regulations and recent manufacturing standards. The bluetooth connectivity and media sources are finicky and complicated to use, the infotainment system seems to have a mind of its own. For example, I cannot plug my phone into the USB jack and use Pandora at the same time. The second I plug my phone in, Pandora stops working. There doesn't seem to be any way to get around this issue. I've also had issues getting Pandora to stream properly. I'd say about half the time it doesn't work unless I restart the pandora app on my phone, or exit out of the Pandora system in the car, change to a different media source, and then open up pandora again. Sometimes I've even needed to restart the whole car at a red light just to get it to work. It's also unnecessarily complicated to flip through radio stations. You twist the tuning knob expecting it to just jump to the next station, but instead it brings up a menu and you have to manually select which station you want and press it using the knob, or you can use the arrows on the touch screen. Both methods are extremely distracting and unnecessary. Again, it's not perfect, but it's certainly far from the worst car I've driven. It's easy to drive, and easy to park. If you're like most of America and just want a simple, easy to drive commuter car, the Accord will suit you just fine. Been over 3 years and the car has needed nothing.

The 2013 Honda Accord is almost there if Honda would improve in areas that customers have complained about for almost 20 years. The 4cyl engine in my Accord is efficient for the most part but it has a loud cheap clattering sound when idle. Honda should also make navigation standard in the EX and above models especially for the asking price. There is no need to have two large screens in the middle of the dash just to make the interior look more technologically advanced. My brakes which are new and just installed by a Honda dealership need more work because sometimes they will brake as expected and other times the braking distance is almost doubled which has scared us several times. It is a good car overall but Honda has to pay more attention to the small details.

I purchased this vehicle as the second owner in 2015. Coming from Nissan, I was wanting more reliability and Honda succeeded with this car. I bought the car at 20k miles. Since I've purchased the car, I started changing things out at 50k miles, from changing the springs to Eibach pro kit, AEM cold air intake, custom tune; tuned with ktune and ATLP J-pipe. This car has no oil burn and no motor knock at 89k, I drive the car daily. Interior pieces have held up great.

I drive rentals for work. I have driven everything under the sun. The best overall car in the class is clearly the Accord sedan. We love the heated seats so we did the EX-L model. We love it so much I am upgrading my 2013 to a 2017 due to enhanced safety features on the 2017. So far I’m not impressed with the 2018 redesign so I’ll pass for now and stick with this geration. Seating is comfortable and everything is intuitive. The only thing this model lacks is a awd option.

I purchased this car in late June of 2015 when it had about 26K miles on the odometer. When I purchased this as a Honda certified used car the car I bought a 7 year, 120K warranty along with it. Honda offers amazing warranties on Certified used cars - all of the work is done by local Honda dealers and you don't have to deal with 3rd party warranty companies who are trying to rip you off. So far I have had only 2 minor issues with the car - one was a wheel bearing that went bad, and the other was a broken cable (speed sensor). Both were fixed under warranty - and a suspect that the speed sensor cable was broken by the shop that did my tire rotation (it happened right after I had this done). As far as maintenance, I've had everything but the tires done at my local Honda dealer. Tires were replaced at about 46K. Other than oil/filter changes that only other maintenance has been a battery replacement, the front brake pads were replaced, and the brake fluid was flushed/replaced. The rear brake pads will be replaced in a few months and the transmission will be flushed. As far as the performance of this car goes, it's a great all-around car that is well-engineered. In city driving (Dallas) I get about 25-27 mpg - it goes to about 35 mpg on highway trips. The cabin is comfortable and I don't notice the wind noise some people have complained about in other reviews. Oh - and the six speed manual transmission. This is why I bought the car. It's a joy to drive and it allows you to get the most out of the engine (which is also a great 4 cylinder piece of machinery). Personally I love manual transmissions, and this is one of the best out there. Manual Accords are somewhat rare - but if you can find one and you like driving this is the way to go.

This is the greatest car I've ever owned and I plan to run it till it drops. With regularly scheduled maintenance if lasts longer than 500,000 miles and beyond that is great for me. No plans to sell or trade this piece of beauty

Traded for CR-V - Miss the Mileage

From my original review, "Absolute Delight To Drive", we have traded the Accord in for a CR-V and both of us hated to "see the Accord go" but at my age - over 85 - getting in and out of the Accord was more difficult. Despite that the Accord was so much fun to drive with a feel somewhere between sportscar and family sedan. The Honda Accord is certainly one we'd recommend - particularly for trouble free driving. (Original Review) The Accord is our "short" drive care (although we have taken a 4,000+ trip in it) and it's a "fun" car to drive - for my wife and for me. Every essential driving component is very responsive - brakes, steering, cornering, displays, heating and cooling - and the ride is relatively comfortable. Our latest stats for Trip A show an average mpg of 33.7 in a mix of driving in town, on the Interstate at 80 mph, on slick highways and on a few gravel roads so we are quite pleased with the mileage. Down side for me is entry and exit from the driver's seat. I have big feet and during entry and exit have to drag my foot across the bottom of the door - which wears out a portion of the rubber door seal. The car also likes batteries and I find myself replacing the battery every two years - each time with a heavier duty battery so hopefully I've solved that problem. At 47,000 miles I'm going to need to replace the tires before winter arrives. Compared to other vehicles we've had, and one we're still driving, that's a lot of miles on original tires.

You can't beat the looks, reliability, ride and handling, and re-sell value of these cars. This coupe is very sharp and has sporty handling with excellent ride on the highways. I consistently get over 30 miles mpg, and average around 33.

I Purchased this car brand new and have had it for the last six years. It’s been my only car. I have had absolutely no problems with it. The front view Looks sporty as it drives down the street. It still looks beautiful and makes me proud to drive it. I was just told that it still looks brand new. It’s a pearly white color, which shines beautifully.

It is now time to rate my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L, 4 cyl CVT. The car was purchased on 4 Jan 2013 from my salesperson Sharon G. at Dick Brooks Honda in Greer, SC. Suffice to say the entire experience was outstanding in all areas. I now have 9,500 miles and it is a flawless product. I just finished a 430 mile trip on 12 July from my home in Columbus, NC to Canton, GA in the same day. The total consumption of gas was 13.4 gallons. Driving included interstate, city, A/C and heavy traffic plus heavy rain. I could not be more satisfied in the handling of the car.

Before I bought this car in June 2013 (2013 Honda accord), I had great standards for this car. I am deeply disappointed by the overall experience. My high standards are no longer high. In years past, I had heard such great reviews from prior clients, which is what made me decide to purchase one. I have an oil leak, oil changes does not last 3 mos, have to replace the starter at 65, 000 miles at 5 years, radio knob not completely operative, phone calls directory using bluetooth no longer present. I had a 2002 Nissan Altima, prior. At least the starter starter lasted 10 yrs!! Well next time around, I think I will return to American made cars. Signed, Disappointed

i LOVED my car for the first few years that I had it. Great features, drove great, good on gas. I bought the car at the end of 2014 and in 2020 I started feeling my transmission slipping and when I accelerate the car was not as fast as it used to be. Took it to the mechanic and paid a bunch if money that “fixed the problem” 3 months later, when I turned the car on a piston blew there the engine wall and a bunch of metal fell out if my car! For it towed to the mechanic again and they told me not only was my engine destroyed now but my transmission was on its last leg as well. Only has $3,000 left on the loan to pay, someone bought the scraps of it. Loved the car while it was good, but went down hill pretty fast

Purchased the car about a week ago and i've received nothing but compliments from people that have seen it. The car looks and feel's sporty (i especially like the LED headlights and dual exhaust) and i'm getting a combined 29MPG on an even mix of city and highway driving over the first 200 miles with ECON not enabled. I plan on using the ECON feature on my next tank of gas to compare the difference. The inside is roomy and comfortable. The technology features are great, there is just so much you can do with all of the bluetooh enabled options. The NAV screen is large and has a crisp resoltuion and the rear and side camera's are a nice addition. Overall, a great experience so far.
