After buying my first new Honda (CRX in '89 which I loved), I couldn't wait to buy Honda again after owning several other brands. This car gets so many looks and compliments--it's often mistaken for a BWW or Lexus! I'm so glad I chose the V6 model-the power is incredible..also the silver door handles give it a nice quality touch. The temperature and audio controls can be somewhat complicated at first, but I am starting to get used to them. Everything is explained in the manuals, so read up! The heated seats are a nice welcoming feel on a cold winter day. Great job Honda! What an improvement over the previous body style (yawn).

Transmission slippage

Over all I am happy to have bought my Accord Coupe V6. It's a fun car, handles good, lots of power. Recently though, I've been aggravated by the transmission slipping in and out of gear when when I'm trying to maintain a constant speed on the highway. I can actually see the tach. spike 200-400 rpms and then fall back into gear, with an accompanying pulse of acceleration. It's very annoying. The dealership seems to be avoiding the possibility that this problem exists and recently I spoke with the owner of the carwash I use and his accord and four other owners he's spoken to have had similar transmission problems - some worse than mine. I fear an ugly battle with Honda in my future.

Beware after 50.000 miles this car started using oil . Last oil change went 750 miles and used 3 quarts of oil . They did extend warranty because of this problem but good luck getting them to honor it. Just search oil usage Honda. They say one quart for a thousand miles is normal. Also say to let sit 15 min before checking . If there isn't oil on stick when you pull it out it isn't good . The oil pan is the reservoir for the engine if it isn't there the engine isn't getting it. I would really think twice about this car before buying . I was a GM Pontiac mechanic so I do know engines and cars. Update : They did rebuild pistons and rings , So far so good 6,000 miles and no oil usage !

Second owner at 80K

I've had this car for a couple years now, and it is at 166K (mostly highly) now. This car has treated me greatly, and I would definitely recommend one for anyone looking for a used model. It's a heavy car, but very stable, earlier models of the previous generation felt alot more nibble. If you use a good set of tires, it will make all the difference in the snow. It has its quirks here and there, but overall you seldom have to be under the hood to repair it past basic maintenance. When it comes to parts and repair, these cars are expensive when going through your Honda dealer, but they are so reliable it makes up for the cost.

Great Car, Bad Leather

Honda, 10/02/2009

Fun to drive 6 speed manual, Great features for the price. Decent MPG and excellent performance. Leather seats are poor quality, and wear badly. Only other disappointment is with the TPMS not working with snow tires after paying up for the sensors. Would love to have the EV-L options without the leather. Exterior looks are very nice. Really enjoy the car. Dash controls are a bit overly complicated. Car feels like a Honda, it will run a long time with no major repairs. Honda did miss their standard of quality with the leather seats.
