This is an outstanding car. After research, it looked like the maximum bang for my buck. I have not been disappointed. I added an alarm sysyem for security and auto door locks when car put into gear. Dealership experience great. Another hint for those used to auto headlights or daytime running lamps is to leave lights on with EX. The auto off will turn off lights after 10 or 15 seconds. The car drives great with good power and outstanding fit and finish. You cannot go wrong with this car!!

Drive Great - Not Japanese Anymore

The Honda Accord is a blast to drive, and gets reasonable, if not great, mileage. Cost to own will be in line with Honda's of the past. Honda stands behind their cars, but I did NOT expect to find any Honda that had problems direct from the factory. My car had major window seal leaks, and water in the car after the first rain. The dealership promptly fixed, but left an indelible impression on my opinion of their manufacturing process, which in my previous 3 Accords and 1 Civic were NEVER at issue. We'll see. Overall, an excellent car, and I hope to be able to write a different opinion as this car ages a bit. Jim, in Shawnee, KS

2005 Honda Accord LX 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A)

This is our 3rd Accord LX 4 cylinder (See similar reviews under 97 Accord and 2000 Accord Runs Foverer). 97' LX model has 209000 miles & still going strong with no major repairs, 2000 LX model has 73000 miles with no repairs. The new 2005 model finds an excellent middle ground between the 97', which runs and feels like a sports coupe / 2+2, and the 2000 which drives and feels more like a traditional 'family' sedan. I switched from Toyota after blowing the head gaskets in our 92' 3.0 liter V6 engine twice (@ 85K and 140K miles) due to an engine design defect which necessitated a complete engine rebuild. No more toyota's for this driver.

This is an outstanding vehicle! After doing the research, it was apparent to me that this car gives the maximum bang for your hard earned dollar. It has features you would not expect for a vehicle which costed under $29,000 (including destination, taxes and all). I added an alarm system for security and auto door locking feature when placed in gear. Great dealership experience. Another tip for those who might want daytime running lamps or auto on headlights is to keep your lights on all of the time. The auto off feature in the EX model will turn off the headlights after 5 or 10 seconds. The car has great power (240hp) and fit and finish. The Honda Nav system is second to none.

I have owned many Hondas over the years. I still can find a vehicle that beats them for the price. Fit and finish inside and out beats all the competition. Switching from a 2000 Trans Am to an Accord, I thought would be a hard change. But I don’t miss the rattles and road sounds I used to get out of the Pontiac. Going from a 305hp engine to a 160hp was not bad at all. The Accord it quick and gets out of its own way. Just a note it is a lot easier to get my two year old in car seat in the Honda. But when I bought the Pontiac I was in a different situation.
