Used 1999 Honda Accord Consumer Reviews
60,000 miles and not even broken in yet
I purchased my 99 Accord EX 4cyl new so I figure now is a good time to write a review. The car has been exactly what I expected it to be. Its been extremely reliable, great gas mileage, very good ergonomics, and fun to drive. The car has not seen the inside of a repair shop expect for routine maintenance and the one recall. The ergonomics is great as is the fit and finish and the type of materials used. To keep the cost down Honda choose not to illuminate the locks, power windows and the secondary controls on the steering wheel when the lights are on at night. The pedals are perfect for me and I really appreciate the large dead pedal.
What a blessing !!!
We are the original owners of this car. Our Accord has over 180,000 miles on it. I have changed the oil every 5000 miles and done all other normal maintenance myself. We took it into the dealership to have the timing belt replaced as spec. by Honda. Other than that this car has never needed anything but gas and someone in the drivers seat. This has been the most amazing vehicle. I agree with one of the other reviewers when they said "they got more than they paid for." Honda has made a believer out of me.
Got more then i paid for
Awesome car. You get more then you could ever pay for. The most reliable car I Have ever had. It does not sacrifice anything. Put it to you this way I will never buy anything but a honda
Keep shopping
I bought a 99 Honda Accord EX V6 Engine, three months ago. When I bought the car it had 64,000 miles. Less than 2 months later the transmission went on me...what a headache when you are 200 miles from home. There has also been several recalls on the vehicles ignition switch. Even after having the ignition completely replaced, my key would get stuck in the ignition...another headache. I brought it back to the dealership 4x for the same problem. Finally, or so I hope, they have pin-pointed that when the tranny was replaced, the gear shifter was not aligned properly (???) which caused the key to get stuck. Let's see what happens. In any event, I am frustrated with all the problems I have.
An Excellent Car if you don't Dog it
Bought this thing with around 45K miles on it in 2004 and drove it until some kid parked his Blazer in my trunk last week at 127K miles. Great car. Not the most fun car I've ever driven, but still not bad. No issues other than the cheap factory GM alternator had to be replaced at around 50K miles which I was expecting. No tranny issues. Driver's side leather seat started looking rough but not bad considering it was a 10 year old car. All in all no complaints other than the alternator and maybe a tighter, sportier suspension. Super reliable, what you can expect from a Honda.
