Love my coupe
I've owned Nissans, Toyota, & a Mazda and this car is the only one still standing. I just reached 200,000 miles and I look forward to seeing 300,000.
Best car ever
Bought it in 97 with 40000 miles on it. It now has 271000 and still is going strong. No oil burning just keep up on the maintenance. Four starters, has original alternator and struts. Rear brake shoes have not been replaced yet.
Why should I buy a new one?
The '93 EX Coupe (6 cyl manual 5 spd) was the closest thing to a new car I've ever owned. It was also by far the hottest, coolest car I've ever owned. I bought it in '95 w/ about 28K miles, it, and at 146K, it's still so amazingly reliable and fuel-effecient that I can't bear parting with it just because I want something modern and stylish with less wear-and-tear.
BEST USED CAR TO BUY
I can't believe how good these cars are. I bought a used one with 190,000 miles on it. Everyone thought I was crazy to pay $3500 for it but let me tell you. Now I have 250K on the car and IT STILL RUNS LIKE NEW. I will never sell this car, Cheap on gas, but you do have to fix few common problems every now and then. CV axes, radiator, speed sensor, and oxygen sensor. THAT's it. And only every 60K or so... not bad. So don't just keep reading this, go and buy one. You will love it.
i love this car
in seven years we did not have a single problem with our accord. nothing broke, just had routine maintenence, oil changes and a tune-up at 120,000. still looks good, feels good, and drives good.
Fast and Fun!
I purchased this vehicle about a year ago, and have driven the car almost 15000 miles. I really like this car, she is really fast! This is my favorite year out of the early 90's accords because of the extra power etc... Some of the mods that I have done are; full intake and exhaust, indiglo guages, supercharger. The thing that I was scared about the most when I did the exhaust kit was that it would sound like a Civic, but that I4 2.2L sounds great and its definitely a head turner! The only thing that I would do to change the car a little bit is to make the engine more accessible and repairs less expensive, other than that I love this car, its gonna be hard to let go.
Great Car!
I love this car! Looks good, runs smooth, good mileage... Ive had the car for about 6 months now and Ive had people making me offers for more than what I paid for her. I see a LOT of 3rd and 4th gen accords on the road where I live so I know she'll probably last a while. The factory stereo and speakers dont sound too hot but once you put a nice system in there she's perfect.
I expected much better
I bought this car because of its' reputation. I was let down. 75k miles when I got it and the ABS pump was shot. $1300 to replace, no thanks. The counter balance shaft belt broke and now it shakes like crazy at idle. Trans vibrates bad between 35 and 50 mph like it's trying to shift but can't. Oil leaking at every possible place. Both interior door hanldes broke. CV joints on both sides went this year. The factory radio was the worst thing I've ever heard. Now, the engine is very strong and burns no oil. The seats are very comfortable. Everything works inside. The style is the best. Still a great looking car.
Ode to a great car
I bought this car new in 93 the cruz- contol shorted out and caught the car on fire 9-15-02, it had 280,000 + miles and never gave me 1 problem until its sucide, well the fireman helped as they had to chop the hood off to fight the fire, their dmg is what totaled it..reg oil chg & svc will keep a honda going, I saw a prelude with 850,000 miles on it. I am very sad for my loss.
The '93 Honda Accord is a Great Car!
This vehicle is the Best!
93 Accord SE
Without a doubt, my '93 Accord SE has been the most reliable car I have ever owned.
My first car
I bought my accord just a few months ago. It has been great. Its my first car and I love it. I had issues with the alternator and car starting and electrical stuff. We replaced the battery and the alternator to no avail. When we got it looked at, it turns out that the previous owner replaced the alternator belt on incorrectly, and now it is perfect. I love the gas mileage...300 miles per fill-up! A great first car. Its got 92,000 miles and is still going strong!
A great car
I am now selling my 1993 Honda Accord because, with our kids gone, we have one car too many... but I part with it with great regret. Mileage is good, and it has had no major mechanical problems. Very, very reliable. I have never kept a car with 131,000 miles, but this one drives as good as ever.
113,000 and Still Kick'n Butt!!!!!!!
Great car, actually the best I have ever owned. Will never buy a domestic vehicle again. Only general mantinance required. New clutch at 98,000. Good pep with the 5 speed. Still drives very close to when it was new. Mine was made in Japan. Awaiting the new 2003 Coupe, thinking about trading if the price is right. I will not be gouged just because it is a new design. I will be glad to keep this one for an other year or more. Hope the Hondas made here in the USA are as good as my current model.
Honda for Life! ! !
Great car to own and drive. My two sister's had one right after college and they are just upgrading to brand new Honda's and love driving them each day. Being a used Honda, I still haven't found a thing I don't like yet. It's better than my Grand Am.
awesome little car
I truly enjoy owning my little 93' accord, it's fun to drive and it goes... well lets just say realy fast!
"My Baby"
I am a junior in college and my parents bought this car in 2002 as a high school graduation present. I LUV my car! I will drive this car until it won't move and the way it runs at 123,000 miles, that may be a long time from now. It gets regular services and the only thing extra I've had to do was to replace a CV axle last year. It cost about five hundred dollars and on average, including services, i spend about $600 a year on upkeep. Better than $600/month on a piece of junk. Don't sit there, go buy one now!
Trust My Car
I bought my car brand new with 7 miles on it in March 1993, now 11 years later and 205,000 miles, it still has as much power as it did the day the day I bought it. I have not had any problem with the engine in any way, except the manufacturer defect of the distributor (which was recalled). We do maintain it, with regular tune-ups and oil changes every 3 thousand miles. The only thing we have done, (aside from interior, mostly cosmetic problems) is regular maintenance with only 1 battery and of course tires.
A Little Disappointed
Bought this car (my first Honda) used with about 84,000 miles. 2 months later I had to do the head gasket because, followed my the flex pipe on the exhaust. 8 months later and 100,000 miles oil sending unit, oil pan gasket and now my water pump is starting to leak. I also have a front tire shimmy when braking, a transmission mount that needs to be replaced and my clutch shudders in the morning. I bought because of Honda reliablity but know I can honestly say that I'm not so impressed. I've owned Chev, Ford and Chrysler products so far my accord is no better than them. Good thing for high resale value.
11 great years
Bought it new and got 202,000 miles before the tranny blew. Low maintenance costs throughout. Change the oil and it just keeps on going. I drive hard commuter miles and got my money's worth and then some.
Great Buy
I always like to tell my college friends about my '93 Honda Accord EX purchase. After graduation in '93, many of my friends decided to save a few dollars and buy American. Years later, one by one of the Ford and GM products went to the junk yard or were sold for a few hundred dollars while my investment continued to drive hassle free. Last year, my wife talked me into a Volvo S60 and I sold the Accord EX for an unreal price. As cars go, this was an increadable investment. Not very many car makers can say that they have cars on the road for over 8 years /100,000 miles without a single repair not to mention the resale.
Owned 15 Years and Still Love It
I bought my Accord in 1993 and thought I would keep it 10 years max. Nearly 15 years and over 140K miles later I have no plans on replacing it any time soon. This has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. It's required relatively few repairs although it started to show it's age a few years ago needing new clutch, radiator, etc. But you I would expect to replace that kind of stuff on a car this old. The only problems I've had is with the cruise control that has acted strange from day one. Also the temperature control gets stuck after staying in the same position all summer. Too bad the new Accord's seats are too stiff and uncomfortable or I might have bought another one.
Honda is number one
This year Honda was well designed. The interior has held up well for 11 years and 211000 miles. I have never driven a better car than a Honda. I have long legs and yet I do not even have to put the seat all the way back to drive. It has plenty of power for a high mileage, four cylinder. I would suggest everyone get a Honda.
1993 Accord is my Best Friend
This is the most wonderful car ever made. It has been totally reliable, saves you a ton on gas and insurance, and is very zippy and fun to drive- especially in a 5 speed. I have had mine for 11 years, and it has never let me down. When I'm ready to reitre it and get a new car, I plan to put it into storage for the next 40 years untill its considered a classic. That's how much I love this car. No Joke.
Myhonda
I have my accord for 3 yrs.now. I not had to do much other than normal maint. I've had problems with the fuel pump relay and front-end susp. All in all pretty good car in 2010 I went on a 5 state trip @ 15 hr.drive with no problems
Great Car
I just bought this car four months ago and it is simply the best!! I upgraded from a little Honda Civic to a more powerful Accord. I am very happy with the power that is has! I am also VERY happy with the very low maintenence on the engine! I have NO rust and is still going strong. I am very glad I have a Honda as my parents are having with their 96 Windstar that just hit 100k!! (the problems are here!!!) I have and I will always say: Ford should learn from the Japanese to get the product right, THE FIRST TIME!!
Best car
I've had my car for three years. I needed a car that was dependeble which this one was. I'm a single female that dosen't have time to take my car in and out of mechanics. I never once took my car because it gave me problems. I believe that Honda makes awesome cars. I plann to purchase another Honda.
My "new" car
I still call my 1993 Honda Accord my new car. I do love it, but I don't like the whistling from the windows if I go more than 30 mph. Otherwise, I love my Honda and I will buy another. I love the style, the large front window and the large back window. No cars compete with that so far. Otherwise, I love my car.
Couldn't be happier - 11 years later!
This is a GREAT car. No problems and great performance through its entire life. I'm ready for my next GREAT car - a hybrid.
I love the hondas!
Because of my history with my last accord and because of the reputation of Hondas in general I decided to stick with Honda for my next car. I think i got a good deal on it, i paid 5,400 from a dealer and the car has 119,000 miles on it. The dealer also put a new paintjob on it, replaced the timing belt/water pump, and about $600 in other improvements. The interior is perfect. My car also came with a kick- butt stereo system which included 2 10" subs and a graphic equilizer! I am very happy with my purchase and will stay loyal to hondas no doubt! An absolute pleasure to drive!
225,000 miles & tearing up the highway
I run my cars hard with no mercy and this car is awesome like all the Honda's I've owned! 225,000 miles and still tickin'. It'll still cruise at 80 mph for hours without worry.
Pretty good car
It drives pretty well, I have the 5 speed manual, and it can go, iv done alot of mods to it, and tons more to come, and very easy to customize. New H22a engine on the way too. WOOHOO!
Great car
Bought this car last summer and its been sweet. Fuel economy is pretty good and its rather zippy for such an old car with low horsepower and torque. I've had no problems except with a broken door-handle but that was there when we bought it. I'm planning to upgrade the exaust and intake very shortly to give it a little more boost. Planning on having this car for a long time. (It only has 74000 miles on it).
May 93 Accord
I have owned Honda vehicles for some 20 years. I have had very few issues which would make me consider changing brands. The only issue I consistently had to address is the air conditioner compresor failures which required an approximate $1000 replacement cost. My 1993 Accord LX has had 3 replacements since I purchased the car.
Great car
This was the first thing I bought when I finished college. I still have the car today, and it still runs great. You just follow the recommended Honda maintenance scheule, and you get no problems. I've had to replace the battery, a couple of lights, and the muffler. Great car.
Pros
Bought this car new for my wife. (and me too) traded in 1988 century. Bummer. Have had wonderful luck with it. Expensive to recharge A/C but worth. Thinking of trading in for 2005 Odyssey. Seating kinda low making getting out uncomfortable. Engine purrs like a kitten.
Great Car
I bought this car at the end of 2002 with 92,000 miles on it. It was an extremely reliable car. I drive round trip 72 miles a day to work. I always said I would drive it till it died. It was a great car for the last 8 years and I just traded it in on a 2007 EX-L Accord. My '93 had 232,000 miles on it and still going. Had begun to replace things over the last few years - but that was to be expected. Got 180,000 miles out of the original clutch! AC / Heat still worked. Great, dependable car. One of the reasons I traded it, was the newer Accords are roomier and my kids are growing up and needing more leg room. I hated to see my '93 Accord go, but so far I love the 2007 as well.
Best Car I Ever Had
This car ran like it was new when it was 16 years old with 190k miles. Its life was cut short by an accident, but I loved this car. Many cars (even newer ones) make noises or everything just seems flimsy, but this car ran and felt great. I chose not to buy a Honda again because I believe they have actually become overrated. I loved this car, but the prices for cars like this have become outrageous in the past few years. It was a great car, not a magical car that never will die or require maintenance.
Runs like a clock
This has been the greatest car that I have ever owned! I have owned it for 3.5 years and I have never had to change the breaks (I down shift). It has never left me sit. The only two problems I have had are the power antenna mast, and the drivers side power window gets stuck sometimes. Thats all! No mechanical problems at all. I had to replace the exaust from the cat back, but that will happen with any car. But It's treated me very well.
I love my Honda!
I've owned this car for 9 years & love it. It has never left me stranded & loks as good today as it did when I bought it many years ago.
Excellent all around vehicle
Bought this car new 16 years ago. Now has 175K and it still runs well and looks good. It has needed some repairs recently, which I would expect with all the miles, but overall it has been an excellent and very reliable car. The four cylinder engine is economical delivering 23 city/28 highway, yet offers plenty power to "get up and go". Easy to drive, with excellent handling characteristics. Comfortable seats and nice view of the road with low dashboard and large windshield. Economical to operate and maintain. Tires wear like iron, I get almost 50K miles on a set of tires. Brakes last a long time too.
Trusted Old Friend
I bought the car new, and was looking for a reliable vehicle. I haven't been disappointed. In the 9 years it has been driven, I can count on one hand the number of times it has refused to go (battery twice and starter once). The interior has held up well, but the paint shows signs of age--hurried along by exposure to weather and a detailer who power buffed the finish. Now the clearcoat is peeling. I've kept up with the preventive maintenance, so at 157,000 miles it is still mechanically sound.
Best car you'll ever own
I rescued my 1993 LX after a friend of mine was about to let her go to a dealership trade in. That was 15k miles ago, at 155k. I'm up to 170k now, and have loved every minute. I've had a few easy fixes (main fuel relay, rubber trim, valve adjustments, etc), but no way can I complain. Especially not with 37mpg on the highway, a decent ride, and fair enough handling for a front drive sedan.
Love my Honda
My wonderful boss who just bought a new Civic EX coupe was sweet enough to pass on his all stock '93 Accord EX Coupe to me for free when he found out I needed a set of wheels. It had only 82,000 miles at the time and in mint conditon with the exception of a dent in the driver's fender. The rear spoiler and alloy wheels really brings out the sporty look of this car. I get a lot of compliments especially from women where ever i go. I even get people asking me if I want to sell her. This car starts up everytime and runs extremely smooth and tight expecially on the highway. Getting 23/27 mpg avg with A/C on. I will not part with her and plan on driving it for another 200,000 + miles. ;-)
My accord
Bought this car in April of 2010. It had been owned by a couple since 1994 but had been sitting for 6mons. After a jump, the car had no issues coming back to life. The five speed manual makes the most of the zippy 2.2 L. It's way faster than my moms 01 Vtec Accord! Its ultra reliable. I with 171K I drove it 3.5 Hours at 80-90 mph and over a mountain pass no probs and averaged 37 mpg. Let's just say I drive a faster, better looking, and significantly better looking and practical prius! Acon works, but it doesn't love the heat. Sunroof is awesome. Stock stereo is actually great, an aftermarket cd deck would make it excellent.
Happy
My Honda has 190,000 miles and still going strong. I had to replace the entire front end and 3rd gear just went out, but I believe this was from lack of care from the previous owner. I'm getting around 36 mpg on the highway. This car takes a licking and keeps on ticking
Love this car
I just sold my 99 Passat and needed cheap transportation until I find the convertible of my dreams. I bought this one owner car with the original tires (replace yesterday due to rubber rot). What a sweet car, I have people beggin me to sell her to them. It didn't look so great under the car port with two flat tires, dead battery and an inch of dirt but today she looks like a brand new 9 year old car.
1993 Honda Accord SE
Love my car. I've never had any problems except with the power windows and the lighter socket.
Cheap & Reliable
Nothing to recommend it except that it is incredibly reliable and costs next to nothing to run. Comfort, handling, features all pretty mundane. Like any good appliance, it does all you want to to do, but is not in any way memorable. Maybe that's what a car should be. I've had this since new (wife's car) and it now has 188,000 miles. Never failed to start. Never quit. Not a dime spent on anything but routine maintenance(and not much of that...tires last 90,000 miles, still have original struts, etc) except for one flat tire and a brakelight bulb.
Ok, did nickle & dime us a bit
Got this 5spd from my wife when she went mini-van for the kids. I sold my auto trans 1992 Accord. This one has been a good car, except for two major repairs. We had to do the AC 2 seasons ago for a few thousand, brakes once, and a new radiator (blew out on me and almost left me stranded). Other than that, pretty reliable and durable car. At 122K still on original timing belt!
