Oldest car in the parking lot

I am a teacher. Mine is the oldest car in the school's parking lot. The students have newer cars than mine. However, it is a dandy. I bought the Yukon used with just over 100,000 miles. It now has 270,000 miles on it. I have had two issues since owning my Yukon: (1) Although, I have only used the 4-wheel drive maybe twice, the transfer when out and cost $1,200 to fix. That was about three years ago, and I haven't had any other trouble. (2) My heat and air act up. It is only on the driver's. The passenger and rear perform well. This is a common problem with these vehicles; I have heard many owners complain about this. I may have the air on in the summer and the heater will sudden come on full blast and will not turn off. It doesn't matter that I turn it off by the knob, it still will not go off and the fan will not slow. The opposite may happen in the winter. I have been told it is a $600 fix as it would require replacing two computers. Oh and I have a lot of road noise around the front windshield, not sure why. No leaks or seal issues. I average 15 miles per gallon no matter if I use cruise, drive slow, pull my camper, or speed down the highway. The paint is fantastic, no issues with clearcoat and it still holds a shine despite the fact that I don't park in the garage. The third row doesn't really have leg room for adults. In the future I would by the XL version because it has more storage. However, I am determined to get 300,000 miles out of this Yukon before I buy my next one.

It is the greatest truck I have had. I had a 1995 Chevy Tahoe, I would never buy another one, although the gas is not the greatest, the interior is great and the truck is quick considering it weighs just over 5,000 lbs. All in All I love my 2004 Denali, and would never trade it for anything, except maybe a new Denali.

Very fun to drive! Best SUV that I have ever purchased. Great turning radius, sleek design, very comfortable. Only downfall is the gas mileage, but that's to be expected on an XL SUV.

I trade annually, and I've owned many different vehicles. The Yukon Denali XL is my all time favorite. For ride and comfort I don't think you can find anything to beat it. The larger 6000 series engine make acceleration smooth and unlabored. Handling is a breeze with the power assisted steering. We test drove the Toyota Sequoia and were pleased with that, but we were convinced by the much more stable ride found in the Yukon.

The Yukon Denali has extreme power waiting to be unleashed. Had Hypertech/Headers/Exhaust/Volant Intake and gained some good horsepower to it. Our denali will go through anything. It takes off like a beast. The All wheel drive handles marvelously in the rain. Backing up is not hard at all, and the mirrors fold down so you can see the curb when parking close. The seats fold down in less than 3 minutes and are nice and heavy duty. The electric heated seats are a NICE luxuary in the wintertime. All and all this SUV is one of the best. It IS worth 50 grand.

I bought my 2004 Yukon 4x4 new, and I am content on keeping it. It delivers lots of power and is a very safe SUV to drive in all kinds of conditions. It will pull about anything you can hook up to it, yet will result in good fuel economy for something this big. In the past when I had to get a group of kids somewhere not far away, I had sometimes 18-20 kids in it (took to the side roads of course). Besides having a couple of small items go wrong, it has been pretty much a perfect vehicle. If you are looking for a load 'er up and go set of wheels, you won't go wrong with a Yukon!

I bought my 04 Yukon brand new in 10/04 and so far it has been the best SUV we have owned. The third row seat access could be better (2nd row seat should fold all the way down rather than stepping on the back of it). It drives great in the snow and ice, so far I have only used the 4WD once this Winter (Jan 06). This SUV is a beast, I only wish it wouldn't burn so much gas and what ever happened to .99 cents per gal, $60 for a full tank and only 310 miles OUCH! I don't drive it too much, time for engine improvement. Overall is great vehile and very dependable and roomy. Kids and mom love it.

The Denali has performed great under all conditions. We have driven through 3 blizzards and felt completely comfortable with the traction and handling. Towing a large boat and enclosed trailor are no trouble at all, you would not know that they are there except for the gas gauge moving. Which is my only complant about the truck, and for the power that it has I probably should not complain. I have put on 14,000 so far and it has been exceptional.

When my husband and I sat in the Denali, after test driving the Tahoe and Yukon, we exchanged knowing glance that this was "The Car", although it was more than we planned to spend. We both loved the ride and the feel of this vehicle. We agreed, this surpassed all the others. We had our 1st child, who fit into our Denali 22" life style well, then the unexpected happened. My husband died of a heart attack at 38. I still loved our Denali, however, I will not be needing all of the vehicle room I once thought. I chose a different cat, however, I will always be very fond of our Denali.

What an unbelievable surprise. This truck rides better than Germans. More power and computer gadget controls than my so called "high tech BMW 7". Everything actually works like advertised, ride is good, brakes have been worked through very nicely for precise feel. Very proud this GMC is made in America. Would not have purchased otherwise, but very, very glad we did. Oustanding Quality Truck.

I am 6' and 225 lbs and always have golf clubs or hockey equipment with me and use my ski's alot in the winter. After reading and test driving a lot of vehicals this one I was the most happy with.

GM is letting me down

I very much like the Denali, but GM is lacking in customer service. I have owned my Denali for 7 weeks and tomorrow will be my 7th time back for service. The rear heat only works intermittently. The service department had it for a week, and the day I picked it up it stopped working. Recomendation from GM: Drive it around until it doesn't work, then bring it right in. This is great if you live near the dealership and you don't work. Tomorrow's visit isn't about that. Today, the radio went on, but I had no reception, sound, XM, CD, or DVD. I have asked GM to purchase the truck back, but they refuse. Suggestions on how to get rid of my gremlins?

I have owned 1 Ford Explorer and then 2 Expeditions and decided it was time for a change. My brother owns an 02 Denali and after careful review decided on an 03 Denali. Had a aftermarket DVD player installed for the kids, got the factory installed sunroof, captains chairs with heat, and can't get the wife to give it up so I can drive it! Replaced stock air filter with K & N airfilter and what an improvement in performance.

Bought it new. Been very tough on it, towing several tons through the 120° desert. In 2006 I put almost 50k miles on it. Survived some crashes, which, in a smaller car would have caused some major damage. In 2008 it started running funny, occasionally making some wierd sounds and smoke coming out the tailpipe. After it warmed up it was fine. Just recently, at 150k miles we found the problem. One of the valves is sticking. Also, at 130k miles the radiator and A/C began acting up, and it definitely has a leak. Now it makes terrible noises when the motor is cold, and idles at 500 RPM higher than normal under said condition. I feel it'll seize up in the next 10k miles, it's on it's last leg.

The spare tire is a 16" tire. At 25,300 mile I had tire damage, drove 200 miles on spare with 17" regular tires. Had to repace all 4 tires due to being a AWD and 25M miles on 35M mile tires. Repaced spare with correct size. Contacted GM and received a reply of nothing. Out $875.00 for tires at 25M miles. How cheap will GM go on a $50,000 car? Please check this problem if you buy a GM AWD. They will not stand behind any mechanical problem that may occur. They could at least put the correct spare tire on these expensive cars.

This 2003 I ordered is magnificently a better vehicle than my 1997 Yukon. The XM satellite radio I LOVE, and may add years to your life! On Star is a nuisance, never used. Get the stabilitrack and the autoride. It doesn't ride as well as my 89 Fleetwood with a 121" wheel base, but it's not bad.You don't need the Denali if you get these options, 5.3 engine, and you can save yourself $10,000 and get better mileage. I got the barn doors, and deleted the useless (to me) third seat. Climate system is great. Mirrors that blink left and right are also cool. I really LOVE this truck. It handles well in snow and ice, tows well, and goes like a rrabbit.

I have owned 16 cars. I currently drive a 2004 gmc yukon denali XL. This is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have over 203,000 miles on the original motor and transmission. It is an absolute beast in the snow in colorado. I drove it across the country to georgia in the summer filled with furniture and it gave me no problems. I've never had any major repairs. Only a new radiator and water pump at 200,000. It tows a pontoon boat with no problem. Very comfy and quiet. Lots of power and very smooth. I don't want to ever get rid of it because it is such a great vehicle. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Before I made my first payment I was hit by a stupid non insured and non licensed driver from the front panel to the rear panel down the drivers side of the Yukon. The stupid driver then totaled out the Ford SUV behind me. The Yukon stood its ground and took body hits but never attempted to roll. Its a perfect protection for your family on the highway. No serious bodily injuries were suffered even though all the driver side windows were knocked out and it cost $15,000.00 to repair. It still looks and runs great. For me to give a compliment like this to General Motors is unreal. I have always been a foreign car driver. Keep up the good work GMC.

If you need a rugged, go anywhere, tote your friends and family vehicle, then this is it. Very spacious, good performance for the size, and has a very sturdy feel to it. Although gas mileage is not good, I would hope anyone looking for a vehicle like this would consider gas mileage a priority. This vehicle has done great in MN's winter weather, and I've gone offroad in some tough spots and had no problems.

This Yukon has been the best vehicle I have ever owned in terms of functionality and reliability. This is my first vehicle with a DVD system and it has been wonderful. The kids love it! The vehicle has had only one problem (clunk in steering column) which was quickly repaired with some lubricant. The engine and drivetrain are smooth and provide enough power to pull our snowmobiles and camping trailer. The tow/haul mode makes it easy to ensure you are in the correct gear for towing. The seats are easy to configure/remove and it has cup holders that actually work. The turning radius is excellent and parking in tight spaces is no problem. Great SUV.

After owning a 1997 Yukon, I was not sure much could be improved. But our new 2004 is amazing. Interior comfort and appointment is so much better. Exterior styling is outstanding. The new 17" wheels are a great add-on. The ability to get a sunroof and DVD (not available in 2003) is worth the extra expense of a 2004 model. Turning radius is beyond belief. You can actually park the Yukon in a normal parking lot. Gas mileage is about the same (18/15) and reliability is not yet known. There's no denying....2004 Yukon beats Expedition, Sequoia and any other full- size SUV.

I purchased this SUV with 2 miles on it. It has been a great car so far, we have driven on several long trips; using the third row as a sleeping area. When using the K&N air-filter in the winter sent two error codes to the computer. I switch back to the original filter and the check engin light went out. Great SUV rides great and looks great going down the road. Went through two set of tires before I foung out it was out of line. Dealer told me they just had to torque the torque bar

Wow this car is comfy. Gas mileage is something to be desired. I don't know why you need AWD for highway driving - maybe they should offer a 2WD Denali.

First GM in 30 years. Volvo/Mercedes/Chrysler convert. Used dealer trade search to get 2WD, 5.3, 3.42, SD1 package, and middle buckets. Paid right at what Edmunds says is fair value. Just back from 1500 mile trip and ride is just super on interstate. With 3.42 was turning 1,800 rpm at 70. Got 18.6 MPG at 70 MPH. Thats just 3 less than old Chrysler minivan. In cruise, it pulled up a 6 degree grade without downshifting. Great torque. Overall quality is much better than I expected. GMC has closed the gap on the Japanese and Germans. I'll check back in 200,000 and let you know about reliability.

There's nothing like the size of an American SUV

Overall I am very pleased with this vehicle. The comfort, ride, and features are all way above average. I am 6'4" and this is one of the few SUVs that gives me the room I need. The stock stereo is excellent. I use the nav all the time. It's not a touch screen, but it works almost flawlessly in my experience. XM radio is well worth the money if you drive far away from big cities. it has a huge engine, tows great, will give you great acceleration for the size, and you'll have no trouble merging into traffic. Now for the negative. Poor gas mileage . At 11000 miles, I had a transmission issue. It shifted jack rabbit style into 2nd gear, the engine light came on, and I am still waiting for the warranty repairs from the dealer.

This was my first GMC vehicle and certainly not my last. The quality which was put in to the design and building of the vehicle is extraordinary. Everything fits, nothing rattles or wobbles, or makes noise, unless it's supposed to and you can just tell that the quality is there. My only complaint was that I couldn't get 17" wheels and tires...only on the Denalli which was not worth the difference in price (about $10,000). All in all, I am very happy with this one.

I drive alot of different SUV'S and GM still has the best bang for your buck. My last 2 Suburbans have all had over 250,000 miles on them when I sold them, and are both still running strong.
