Great, safe vehicle. Have a 2008 same model with 200000 mile and still runs great no problems.

Good on paper. Poor tech reliability

Looks great. Drives well but poor reliability. Parking and blind assist sensors went out within the first 3 months of purchase. Air conditioning broken after two years. Apple car play annoying. Definitely skip this one and consider the Expedition. Only reason we didn’t buy the Expedition is the new safety tech wasn’t available but with new model it has all the tech.

Do Not Buy!!!

I am so disappointed with my purchase of the 2016 Yukon XL Denali. The issues with this vehicle in just 1 month are endless. The main one being the brakes are sooo bad. I got in an accident after 1 week, because the brakes on the car just dont work. The quality of the seats are so poor, you can feel the springs in the seats. The transmission keeps slipping. I hate this vehicle. DO NOT BUY.

We bought a brand new Yukon XL. It’s still new but we feel its a great upgrade from our 2010 mini van!

Great Road Trip Vehicle

We purchased our lightly used 2019 GMC Yukon in Feb 2020 and it now has 36k miles. We bought this vehicle to handle our family of 5 on roads trips and shuttling to our kids' activities. It fills that role perfectly. Pros: - Plenty of space in all three rows and cargo area for a family road trip - Engine provides plenty of power for city driving and holds speed well on the highway even in the mountains - Smooth highway ride, easy to travel all day - Driver aids are very useful. Parking sensors front and rear. Lane keep assist is helpful without being annoying - Radio, bluetooth, etc. are simple and work well - Has been reliable thus fall, though it is still early - Mileage is great on the highway, easily over 20, usually between 20-22 mpg. City mileage is acceptable for a vehicle this size at ~15 mpg. Cons: - Carpeting is very cheap. Definitely recommend floor and cargo mats. - Rough ride on city bumps and pot holes. We just replaced the OEM tires and that helped a bit. - Maintainbility is more complicated than it needs to be. Simple items like replacing air and cabin air filters is more involved than other cars we have owned. Overall we like the vehicle and would definitely buy again.

Heaven on 4 Wheels

Bought a 2019 YUKON XL SLT 4 months ago. No issues or problems yet. The standard V8 has plenty of power and I get 22 mpg on the Highway, but I’m not a fast driver. Everything about it fits me perfectly. It does have a firm ride but I did get the 22” factory wheel that are the most beautiful I have ever seen. I could not be HAPPIER !!!

You really appreciate this vehicle after long rides. I've driven to Florida 5 times and taking kids back and forth to colleges all over and being a hockey dad - a lot of traveling - when you get out of this truck - you don't feel beat up! It's like sitting in a living room - very comfortable and very respectable gas mileage too!

After 70,000 miles, the transmission turns to mush. About $5,000 to repair.

GM Yukon XL Denali Strut Nightmare

Jonathan Mepham, 12/19/2023
2017 GMC Yukon XL Denali 4dr SUV 4WD (6.2L 8cyl 8A)

My family and I purchased the GMC Yukon XL Denali thinking it would be a good vehicle for the family. We could not have been more wrong. We have owned this vehicle for a little over 4 years now. We have had to replace both rear struts once. That cost us $2,000. We have had to replace the front struts twice. That is about $3,600 in front struts. GM refuses to help us and to fix the problem that is clearly due to their error. Did I mention my front struts are now locked up again and needing to be replaced for a third time? Do not buy a Yukon, run for the hills. It's unfortunate for my family that we had to learn the hard way. I grew up with a father that swore by GM products. But after seeing how they treat us as loyal customers for over 40 years we will never buy another vehicle from them again.
