Solid, luxurious SUV

The sticker price drops appreciably with the ever-present incentives. Comfortable ride, nice features, and reasonable engine performance from the base engine (remember, it's a SUV, not a sports car) make this a worthwhile purchase. The Honda is lackluster, and every Toyota I've owned had numerous electrical gremlins as soon as the warranty expired. The Terrain SLT has the features I wanted, and drives well.

I love it. Perfect for us taller girls and very affordable. I got like 5 additional packages but the elevation package is a must for this truck. I also got the black out package so everything down to the GMC logo is black. My truck is everything and it’s such a smooth ride. $22 on half a tank (89) and $45 on E (89) I love the lil safety feature when someone is too close to ur car... it’s like a lil vibration under ur bottom to let u know something is near and to look

This is my second terrain. Last one was a 2013. Just made a road trip and averaged almost 40 mpg at 60 mph with the 1.5. I absolutely luv this vehicle. My wifes 2011 bmw now up for sale and she getting a Terrain.

Whats going to happen next?

I bought a brand new 2020 terrain this year. I live in central Alaska where roads and temperatures are tough. Ice and snow are on the roads from October-April. I will not take my terrain out of AWD in the winter here because it just wants to slip and slide everywhere more so than most vehicles I have driven. It handles okay in winter but I plan on putting winter tires on instead of riding all seasons. The terrain doesnt have much of a get up and go but cruises at a steady and comfort. I have the slt model and it does not have heated seats/ steering wheel, roof bars, touch-less rear cargo, crash control. But it does have lane assist, great gas mileage and cheap to fill up even less than most sedans, its comfortable, roomy, and over all the SUVs I drove this one was my favorite. I am usually the only one who drives it but if I do have 2 tall people in it at once they are both very cramped. I do love how there are levers in the back where the back seats fold down to put longer items. What I am really here to say though is that my terrain has only 8500 miles on it, oil and service done at 5000 miles and my check engine light came on during a long road trip out in the freezing tundra of Alaska. I was not sure I would make it back home. I got an error message “Reduce engine power” then the terrain would not go from 0-60 without taking its time. I made it home and then to the dealership where they said it was the shutters in front of the inner cooler system. My suv had been in the dealership for over a week now, riding rough and they are trying to figure out what to do next since they had to tow it back into their shop. And in the meantime they lent me another suv that broke down on me and I am on rental car number two. The dealership has been great but I am not happy my new vehicle that I have only had for 6 months is in the shop. What will happen next?
