Used 2015 GMC Terrain SUV Consumer Reviews
Love my 2015 Terrain!
After shopping around using Edmunds as my guide, I decided to give GMC Terrain a serious look having been an owner of Buicks for over 15 years. Reviews were very decent as well. Have to say although its only 2 weeks old I absolutely love my purchase. Was a little skeptical of the 4cyl. engine at first, however it has plenty of power for my needs. Interior is very rich and well designed and comfortable . Like driving in a cockpit . Smooth ride, feels like a higher end car ride. Considering what 2 year old SUV's go for nowadays I say this is a tremendous value for the money. Fully warrantied bumper to bumper with a 2 year service agreement makes this vehicle for my family a wise choice.
Terrain talk
I love my Terrain. The safety features about drove me nuts but once I got used to them (or turned them off) they were fine. I love the interior, very comfortable to drive and the seats feel great. I especially love the heated seat feature. I previously had an Envoy that I dearly loved. The ride in the Envoy was much smoother and less stiff. I have found though, that all the smaller SUV's have that log wagon feel, where you can feel almost every bump. I am 100% satisfied with the overall performance of this vehicle, however I may consider a larger SUV next time to improve the ride. The gas mileage is good, I like the infrequent trips to the gas station.

Unreliable
Do not buy this car! We bought it used at 40,000 miles. At 58,000 we couldn’t handle it anymore and traded it back in. Lots of computer and electronic errors, stalling, turned off on the freeway as it was being driven (thankfully no injuries!), and final mail in the coffin was the stabilitrak and Abs acting up. We had the car less than 20000 miles and experienced all this. Would never recommend.

Terrain derailment!
If we had known how many troubles we would have had with this vehicle, we would have left it in the parking lot at the dealership! First 6-8 months owning it the paint started to peel. Manifold had to be replaced, 4 wheel hub assemblies had to be replaced, the guards under the doors came off, leak in the rear light filled half with water and the light rusted, can't fix, catalytic converter had to be replaced, windsheild wiper arm motor had to be replaced, hydraulic arms on the back door are rusted, the awd goes out when really needed up over snow/slushy hills and the latest is the trailing arm bushings had to be replaced and they could only do one because the other is so rusted onto the axle that they cannot remove it because if they do the vehicle will not longer be able to be driven! The vehicle is a 2015 piece of crap and ready for the bone yard! Take my warning, Never Never purchase a GMC Terrain! They are garbage, A total Terrain Derailment!!! Save your money and purchase something else!!! For the price of the vehicle it should have lasted longer then 7-8 years! And it was brand new off the lot! Waste of money!
I love it
So, I originally wanted third row seating and honestly a Honda Pilot. Once I got to the dealership they had already sold the Pilot I wanted and tried to turn me on to quite a few vehicles. None of them caught my eye until they showed me the Terrain. I’m gonna start with I LOVE the interior. It has the digital dash along with the actual needle point speedometer. I love the color scheme and the fabric on the seats. I drove my vehicle with my 2 kids all the way to Michigan from Florida and none of us were uncomfortable driving for 15 hours. Next, the gas mileage is perfect. I previously owned a Ford Fusion, and this SUV gets better gas mileage. I didn’t expect much power from a 4-Cyl, but I was surprised. It definitely has some get up and go on the highway. I get around 28-30 MPG and at least 430 miles to a tank, which that digital dash also tells you! The outside isn’t very sturdy, mine has a dent from nothing more than a bump and if you put your body weight onto a door (leaning and I weight 120 lbs) the outer part of the door starts to sink in. Lastly, let’s talk about under the hood. I have had ALMOST no problems with anything under the hood. I have changed my oil, spark plugs, kept it clean, everything. However, my cam shaft actuator went out causing my SUV to shut off while I was driving it (I was doing 50 down a main road and it cut off). The good thing is, GMC is covering it with their warranty! Overall this car has been incredible, but the fact that the actuator is a common problem in the Terrain kind of aggravated me as it should have been double checked if they knew it could go out and I was not warned.
