The First of Many
I purchased this `95 Suburban new. Since I ordered, it had everything I wanted and needed. I have been very pleased with it's performance and handling. At the 100,000 mile mark it went in for new tires and the installer just had to remark on what a nice truck it still was. We are so pleased that we are about to pick up a 2002 Yukon XL, equiped much the same except we moved up to a 3/4 ton to pull a larger trailer. I wouldn't have anything else. I do hope that we are as pleased as with our last purchase. A terrific truck!
Good Overall
I have 142,000 miles on my Suburban now. Other than the brakes needing regular maintenance, this vehicle has been quite good. The plastics on the interior are now starting to break, this is likely due to the hot summers here in Sacramento.
Great for Many Uses
I bought this vehicle with 64K and have now got 163K and going strong. This vehicle had a customization package which enhanced the interior with middle buckets and entertainment features - great for the kids on long trips. Whether hitting the highway, hauling the team to games, or loading building materials for the latest project this GMC has been awesome. Leather has held up great. Has gotten 13-16 mpg highway, 9-11 city. Am now looking for a little less size and better fuel economy, but this has been a great ride for many uses.
Family Truck/ Cost in Gas
Bought in 2008, This truck is a great truck , does everything including great cargo space. plenty of room for a growing family like mine. I have right now over 207k on the original engine and cranks everyday, had to replace brakes more than twice, but thats it. I have put about 50k on the engine. It has very poor gasoline, as you can imagine. takes 100.00 a week to keep going. That will break you over time. I am going to park it or sell it now because of that. And it needs some repair.
It was my baby!
I loved driving my truck. I drove it everywhere. I drove it from Texas to Kentucky which is 1,016 miles. I drove it from Kentucky to South Carolina which is 600 miles round trip. I loved the style of it. I loved every thing about it. Something went wrong with the front passenger side tie rods, bearings, rotaries or something cause it caused me to swirve, hit a ditch and roll. For some reason it would not come back to the left. I just came out of a right hand turn and the front passenger wheel just woudn't come back to the left for me to straighten back out in my lane.
