After having my 2009 GMC Acadia at the dealership for a month with transmission issues it is once again going there. After the check engine light came back on exactly a week after having it back. I used my neighbors diagnostic tester and the code P0700 came up. So it’s being towed back tommorow morning. I have been trying to contact gmc for weeks since day one and nothing. A customer service rep called and left a message so I called her back and I haven’t heard anything back. So I emailed GMC and now I am writing a review. I don’t want to shame the company because gmc is a household name and it used to be good. I read that if you continue to try you might get a response. I hope it works. I would like to resolve this ASAP this car is my main vehicle for my family. *10-02-2018 UPDATE My car is back in the shop again with the sputter issue. In March we spent close to $6,000.00 on trans/catalytic converter repairs. We thought it was fixed. I just dropped it off this morning after contacting the dealership and gmcs customer service. On the bright side they helped me get a loaner car to drive my kids back and forth to school. UPDATE 10/4/18 I have my car back. It was the coil pack and a spark plug says The dealership. So far it is running okay. I will update if it happens again.

GMC Playing Games

I own a GMC Acadia, on a day that I was riding home from work. I hit a pot hold in the streets and my side air bags deployed von both sides. I called the company about the situation. They had me to take it to a dealership to get checked. After the expert checked it he stated that the airbags deployed correctly with sensors responding to a roll-over. My car had no damage to it at all, I hit a pot hold. They told me it was my fault and I had to get it repaired. I love the vehicle but this kind of service response is not what I or any other consumer needs to here. The sensors malfunctioned so GMC should be responsible in repairing the airbags but because they cost so much they leave me the lonely consumer to pay for it. Which I can not afford or fight them about. If not repair it at least replace the vehicle with another one, this would have not cost the Manufacture a dime. Hopefully more consumers complain about the business practice of GMC.

Great Ride

Great ride, love the navigation, easy to use. Seems to shift strange. Mileage has not been as good as promised. Good looking and fun to drive. Have had many compliments on this vehicle from strangers in parking lots. Cannot believe that the back bumper is not real chrome. For the price of this vehicle it should be real chrome not paper.

Buy a Traverse Instead

What a piece...bought the car in 2019,had 75k miles, one owner. Day 2 check engine light is on. It ended up being a sensor that needed replaced - fine. 6 months later water is leaking in when it rains. Coming in passenger sode by glove box. Sincerely screwed up electrical. Car would not shut off. Leak was from moon roof. A year after purchase AC is blowing hot air. Requires rear lines to be replaced - 2k repair. So..had this car a year and have had about $4500 in repairs which is almost half of what this thing cost me. It's always always something w this car. Which is a shame because it is very comfortable to drive and a great family vehicle with captain seats, dvd system, leather, dual moon roofs, and towing package. It was between a traverse and the acadia and the traverse had much better consumer reviews. But this acadia had so many bells and whistles and I made the wrong choice.

Nice Car

A few weeks into the purchase and I find it a pleasure to drive. Though, I can't be sure if it still suffers a little tranny shifting issues like the 08 did. I'm not really a car person, but doesn't seem as smooth in some instances. I wish I paid a little more careful attention to the plastic dashboard and other pieces. While at first glance the interior looks great, a closer look reveals all the plastic which will probably get scratched in the long haul. It's textured, so good luck getting scratches out. So far, it's just a fine car.
