Still getting used to it
2000 miles in 6 weeks. Vehicle runs great, and is quick. Reminds me of a Grand AM GT with the space of an SUV. Looking forward to many miles of enjoyment.
Great SUV
5400 miles and I am still loving every moment with it. We are getting about 24 to 26 MPG on long trips and about 18 around town. Tons of room and then some. GM hit the ball out of the park on this one.
- SLT-2 4dr SUVMSRP: $4,999138 mi away
- SLT-1 4dr SUVMSRP: $5,911148 mi away

Disappointed With Options
I loved this vehicle when I first picked it up. Great ride, nimble handling, good in snow, great looks. Everything about it appealed to me. GM did a lousy job on design and testing the options. The remote start doesn't work from more than twenty feet away. The outdoor thermometer can be off by more than five degrees and you have to put the vehicle in "Park" to display more than five locations on the navigation system when looking for a gas station or resturant. They tell me engineering is working on the thermometer and remote start and the Nav sytem problem is a safety feature. How safe is it to pull over to the side of the Interstate to find a gas station?
Best of the best
Look good in and out fully loaded. We had 21.9 mpg from Denver to Colorado Springs, 2 adults 2 children one two years old one 4 months and about 150 pounds of luggage that was 5 months ago. We have now 17 mpg for 90% city and 10% high, no shifting problem is not a sport car it is a big (suv cuv van) but not a sport car. We just love it.
Avoid this car.
Our Acadia has 130K miles, which is on the low side for an 08. This car is full of gremlins. AC problems have been repaired multiple times, instrument lighting comes and goes, mostly goes, which is concerning because they always need to be on. It's had front end problems with the sway bar twice, and lastly the amplifier for the audio system has gone out...and everything runs through the audio system, including the turn signals! We liked this car when we got it, but now I hate it and would never buy one again.

Low miles? Expect major repairs after 10 years!
Our 2008 Acadia had 51k miles and served as a family car. How on earth does the transmission begin to slip after the 10th year with low mileage? Such a travesty! This shortfall lessens the trade-in or resell value Good grief! Buyers should definitely consider the extended warranty as an option.

Great Car
Best car I have ever had and I have had a lot of them. Had the car for 2 years, 41K on it. Never had a problem, never been in the dealership other than an oil change. Started making a whining noise it was just a little low on power steering fluid which was easy to fill. We love our Acadia.
Great vehicle
Have owned 3 Yukon XLs, Yukon Denali. Envoy--love this vehicle! More leg room than Envoy, but hate the transmission. Too much surging, lagging, no pick-up, changes gears too often & at wrong time. I'm a GM person, but the transmission needs serious improvement--it's my only complaint about the car, but I don't know if I can stand this for 2-3 yrs.
Happy
I kept my old car for 12 years waiting for a car I liked. Loved the look of the Acadia when it came out so I researched it thoroughly and test drove it before purchasing the 2008 SLT 2 AWD in 2007(no DVD or Nav). I love it. My family of four drove from NJ to NC last summer, filled to capacity w/the cruise control on--22 mpg...not bad. I feel very safe driving this car at night. Headlights/fog lights really illuminate the road. The dome lights stay lit entering and exiting and the headlights, taillights and backup lights stay lit as well, giving full view around the car. Great in the snow and ice too--even on inclines and declines.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!!!!
Had to have rotors resurfaced at 19000 miles, Won't start if gas gauge is at quarter of a tank. Had to repair something with my brakes @ 19258 miles. Strut replacement, Stabilizer shaft link replaced Link or bushings, front stabilizer shaft replaced @ 41000 miles. Air bag light had come on they disconnected and applied grease...did not fix it@59000 miles. radio had to be replaced. Steering column had to be replace@ 70000 miles and now @ 72000 miles the steering rack and pinon is being replaced.Too many clicks in the front end. I hate the 6 speed, when driving its all or nothing which sucks up the gas. Mileage is AWFUL. This car has been nothing but a headache. Thank God for Extended Warranties.
Crossover of the Year
I bought my Acadia in January, and I love it. The biggest surprise was the handling. It comes standard with stabilitrac, and you definitely notice how smooth the turns are. It has the room of an SUV but it rides like a Lincoln. If you are afraid to buy an SUV because of gas prices, I'm averaging about 20 mpg city and highway. It only takes $55 to fill up at $3.15 per gallon so it's doesn't hurt too bad. Another great feature is both the 2nd and 3rd row seats fold completely flat giving you massive storage room. ou can also move the 2nd row bucket seats back for more leg room.
Turn on the theft-deterrent alarm system
The acadia turn on the theft-deterrent alarm system and I follow up the instruction of manual many times, but the alarm no turn off, I had to change the fuse (2amp) and the alarm turn off and I can turn on my car, now the alarm turn on one time by day, change the fuse and and go, any body to know what happen with this and how I can fix. thanks!!

2008 Acadia Rocks
Got one of the first 2008 Acadia's and we love it! Replaced a Chrysler Town & Country. GM has done an excellent job with this vehicle, it continues to exceed our expectations. One minor problem with the power driver seat motor, but I won't take it back till it's time for the first oil change. Our gas mileage started out low - near 14 MPG but increased to near 18 MPG after 2500 miles. We have the AWD version. The heads-up display, nav and back-up camera work extremely well together. The sound system is also great. Only other wish was for bluetooth, but I'll add some aftermarket version - the rest of the vehicle is awesome, maybe the best vehicle we've ever owned.

ONCE A DREAM CAR, NOW A NIGHTMARE!!!
I always wanted this car and finally bought it and now absolutely hate it!!! The service air bag light stays on and there was a recall and still not fixed:( we got a DVD player installed and it will only play 2 movies due to the wiring, it has stalled on us because it was on a tilt and it had about a 1/4 tank gas and so it wouldnt start, plus it already needed a computer upgrade, the same time the back hatch sensor was broken so we couldnt open the hatch, the plastic falls off of the doors, the back seat, even on the outside of the roof its slipping off. We baby this car and it still has tons of issues. It doesnt get up and go when pushing on the gas, and if you go fast it shakes everything.
