Great Ride and Better than Highlander
When my '01 GMC YukonXL was needed as a farm vehicle, began the search for a new family car. We loved the drive and comfort of our previous GMC yet no longer needed the size of the YukonXL. In addition, with a 6'2" all leg 14 year old and another boy growing, comfort was key. Looked seriously at the Toyota Highlander (family discount available). The boys tested both for legroom and comfort and Acadia far superior. Second row bucket seats have more mobility to move forward and recline than Highlander. Third seat easily accessible and comfortable to average- sized adult while not compromising space. AWD fabulous! In recent 3' snow, drove superbly. Overall a quiet, smooth drive.
Loved it at first, now not so sure!
We have had our Acadia 1 year. We have an engine noise that can't be fixed. Dealership has changed motor mounts, air conditioner compressors, drained oil from the new air conditioner compressor and still the noise is present. The car used to accelerate great but now you must floor it to get the car to go anywhere. Seriously GMC, a brand new car should not be in the repair shop for 17 days in 1 month! We are going to either just cut our losses and eat the fact that the car depreciated $16K in 1 calender year or try our chances with the lemon law. I knew we should not have bought American! Never again GMC!

Mixed Review
I was torn between the MDX and the Arcadia. By the time I built similiar features there was only a $2000 price difference between the two . I believe the resale value will be an issue. The Arcadia rides very well but doesn't carry the prestige. You hear road noise and the transmission stinks. They don't have full leather seats (fabric on the corner of the front seats). The gas milege in the city is really bad. On the highway it's much better. I've only had the truck 2 weeks and wake up every morning questioning the decision.
Buyer beware
I bought my acadia used a year ago for 10k plus. I LOVED it. Or at least I thought I did. It's been broke down more than not. 3 weeks after I got it had to replace transmission. Then I took it to gmc dealershi dor leaks 3 times! They 'said' that it was do many other things. I had to take it to 4 diff mechanics b4 they found it was as simple as the ac line clogged. Now the intake valve is stuck open. I've put in as much as I spent on it. I love it, if I could ever use it.

Electronic, A/C, Transmission Nightmare
I would never recommend buying a 2008 GMC Acadia. It has been a nightmare from the day we bought it used in 2016. The 1st day driving it home we had transmission slippage, traction control light kept coming on and seals started leaking. We returned the vehicle the following day to the Dealership and had them fix the issues. They had our car for 2 weeks and returned it to us claiming everything was fixed. We picked up the vehicle and headed back home and the traction control light came back on again just after leaving the dealership. We turned around and went back to the dealership again! They took the car back and off we went without our car. To make a long story short, the AC Unit kept going on and off intermittently, the traction control light does the same, it is always leaking something. The dealership we bought this Acadia from had our car for a total of 6 months before we actually got the car back permanently and many trips back and forth. The Owner of the Dealership sold the business and supposedly had fixed all the issues that we had complained about from day 1 but only bandaged it to get by. We have not gone more than 2 weeks without some kind of light coming on. We have had the transmission replaced after owning for a year but only driving for 6 months after receiving it back from the dealership and the air bag lights, traction control lights, check engine lights just continuously keep coming on and off. The electronics are so quirky in this car. Now the electronic dashboard cluster comes on and off, the traction control light keeps coming on and off intermittently and tells the transmission to switch to high and low gears immediately when traction control lights come on while driving. Very concerned of our safety!! Especially with my family in the car. We have had diagnoses from the local dealership and other professional shops and no one knows why or what do it's doing. The other day, the traction control light dings on while driving down the frontage road doing 50mph and the car jolts very hard and slows us down like it just went into 1st gear with my kids in the car and keeps shifting up and down quickly. I have to pull over, turn off the vehicle, take out the keys, restart the car until the lights go off and then I amy be lucky to drive it down the road without any concerns or it will last for half the day or more. It has made a definite conclusion that I will never ever buy another GMC again. All the mechanics I have spoke to and dealt with tell me that the GMC Product is one that they see often with a few others they do notrecommend. We are very disappointed in this vehicle and gave the dealership an opportunity to make it right or we were going to take further action. I am a man of my word and was expecting the same with the dealership. I should had giventhe car back and filed the Lemon Law Case but I was too nice to offer the opportunity to have them make it right. In the end, even if I made poor choices on not returning the car, the car still rates as the biggest maintenance and lemon I have ever purchased. There is always something wrong with this car. There are some serious electronic issues or a computer issue, as well as transmission issues that I have also read multiple complaints about, right along side of the AC problems. My defogger didn't work when it rained bad one day and we couldn't see anything and almost caused us to crash just off ththe freeway with our entire family in the car. AC is now totally shot. Blows air but not cold or hot and defogger is useless. The car had 115,000 miles on it when purchased.

Traded My Tahoe For This
I was intially drawn to this vehicle by the great styling and looks. Loved my 2005 Tahoe, but was looking to save gas money by trading it off-not happening. Finally convinced my husband to take a test drive. Loved the seating, dual moon roofs, and great room. Made the purchase 6 months ago and it is very aggravating. When the warmer months come around, I roll down my back windows-you can't do this at all in this vehicle! The vibration is so awful it is like you are directly under a helicopter. Made a complaint to GMC, told it was a design issue. The transmission shifting is more than awful! Overall a nice vehicle if they change the transmission and noise issues, but miss my Tahoe.
Initial quality only
The TV commercials are correct when it states "Highest in initial quality." The SUV is quite, smooth ride, great storage, a billion cup holders, and comfortable. We do love the vehicle. We take great care of this vehicle. ...... Now the bad part: THERE IS NO QUALITY TO THE VEHICLE! Without any exaggeration, everything on this vehicle has just about broken. it is ridiculous how many things have broken and stupid stuff. For example, the vanity mirror covers no longer stay up when the sun visor is down. The vanity mirrors maybe were used once in a blue moon. The 3rd seat upholstery seam for the seat has come apart. We only use the third row when family comes to visit. From inside to outside, if you plan on owning this vehicle for longer than a lease period, expect it to fall apart. I will never purchase a GMC again.

would be great without issues
We loved our Acadia til the windshield leaked. When they fixed that, the back Windows leaked. Then the windshield would leak and then the back Windows would leak again. The ignition wouldn't work at times so you had to use the remote start to start the car and then the ignition would work. After numerous trips to our dealership, gmc did a buy back. Its a Nice car but they need to work out all the kinks in it.
Best terrible car ive ever owned
Living in minnesota roads are potholed, snow covered and salt abused. It is fantastic at cushioning out bumps and drowning out road noise but that os where the praise stops. One massive problem is MPG the car computer says i average 19 in mostly hyway driving, ive done the math countless times and found it actually get between 13 and 16. The interior seats cause back pain and visibility out the back windows includes the sky and tops of trees. In the winter this car on winter tires with awd has proven itself less snow worthy then my son's fwd volvo sedan on all seasons, thats mostly because in order for the awd to actually kick in you need to floor it. We baught this car new in 2008 and it now has 121,000 miles on it and weve gone through 6 transmissions 2 computers 1 gage cluster, 2 radios, both seat motors, and 2 sets of rims because theyve shattered, weve talked to gm about the constant issues and they claimed normal wear and tear. Idk about you but i find 2 transmitions before 60k miles a problem. The next time something on this car dies its gone and im buying a new volvo!

I can't believe no one said!
Just over 1200 miles so far. We like it, but my wife misses her Tahoe. No major complants so far except has no one else opened their second row windows yet? Oh my god the air pressure variations will blow your ear drums right out! Major problem.
Get On Board
By far the best crossover out there. Great handling with the stabilatrac, not like an SUV that can roll over easily. All the controls are very close. Getting 21 mpg, I think that's great for this vechile. If you don't need AWD get the FWD you'll save about 1700 on the price & get 4 mpg more. If you need more MPG than this buy a Yaris.
Love my Acadia
Best vehicle I have ever owned. It is so comfortable especially on a long trip. It handles like a champ. If you want more plush look at Enclave as well. Friend sold his Lexus for Enclave after driving my Acadia and loves his too. No regrets.
First time GMC owner
After looking at every make and model of 7 passenger SUV's and Minivan's my wife and I quickly narowed it down to the Acadia. This is our first "American" badged vehicle and have to say that we are both impressed. Ours was purchased in Nov 07 and with the exception of a leaky sunroof (fixed under warranty) we have had no problems during its first 7500 miles driven. The May 08 transmission reflash was done two months ago and did wonders for the everyday drivability of the car.
Nice but time working car
This car is really great and nice looking and comfortable but this recently happened to me where the Trans started to slip alot. DEAR TO ALL BUYERS... and people who have problems with their transmission. This also goes to the outlook enclave and traverse. It's definitely nothing wrong with the engine or the Trans oil. It's is your shift solenoid in which it is glitched and si the car can not shift correctly because it dosent no what to do. So if u can get your shift solenoid fixed than ur all good
My Acadia
This is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. The handling is superb in all weather, with outstanding styling, visibility and comfort it is a true joy to drive. I went from a 4wd Super Crew pickup from another manufacturer, that I truly loved, to the Acadia and have never regreted my decision. What an awesome vehicle. I am constantly getting comments on it and everyone who has ridden in it is impressed with it's options and ride. Thanks GMC for coming up with a true winner.
Buyer Beware!
We recently bought the Acadia because we wanted a car with better gas mileage than our Expedition. Big disappointment. We are only getting about 12 mpg. Since the sticker advertised 16 city/24 highway, you can imagine my surprise when I only got 12. The car is beautiful in design and interior layout is excellent. But if you're looking for a wonderful car with great gas mileage, buy something else. I will be getting rid of this car as soon as possible. Looks aren't everything and if GMC can't do better than to make a vehicle with such poor gas mileage, they should stop making them. I'll take my Expedition back anyday.
Awful gas mileage, beware
I bought this car expecting much better gas mileage than my 2004 Ford Expedition with a 540 horse V-8 engine. Sad to say, my Ford had better gas mileage in town than this Acadia. I only get around 10 miles per gallon in town. I do quite a bit of stop / start traffic, but it shouldn't be this bad. When I drive, I try to excercize all the gas efficient ways to drive, ie. don't drive with a heavy foot, don't stop quickly say at a light, slow exceleration from a stop, no gunning it up a hill, etc. The transmission is a bit sluggish. It tends to be delayed when trying to go up a hill. I really like the car and it's quite stylish, too!
Better ride and features than imports!
I have driven many different vehicles, having worked in the automotive field, but I'm very impressed with the GMC Acadia. It has the space of a mini-van but definitly not the look of one and it rides as smooth as a sedan with the ability of an SUV. GM hit it on the head this time. It's truly a vehicle that covers all the bases. Plus a 5yr- 100K warranty and roadside assistance, (some of imports don't even offer roadside unless you purchase it), how could you lose. I give it a big thumbs up.
gmc acadia 2008 tranmission problem
i bought gmc acadia 2008 .the transmission went back because of a leak ,so had to take it to a mechanic and spent 2000 on it for used transmission and labor ,because new transmission is almost 2300 or more .then problem with fuel pump .the car does not start . then tranmission slipping again .as i noticed this car has transmission problem because of the design inside or something .this car is bad .and i would never buy one again .stay away from it . especially ones with more than 100000 miles .bad car.

Very Comfortable. A joy to drive.
This vehicle is very comfortable and is fun to drive. The feel of the road and the handling is fantastic. I just cannot believe it is a 5000 lb vehicle. The gas mileage is good and the performance is better than I expected for the weight. I am impressed with how quickly it will move when I need it to. The shifting is smooth as silk and I continually am amazed at how quiet the interior is. GM did a great job on this one!
A High Miler with High Praise
I am a high-miler business traveler and typically trade about every two years at 100,000 miles. Have lots of experience with minivans through SUV's. Thought about another Jeep G. Cherokee, but gas mileage is a problem there. The MDX's were good vehicles although don't pretend they are problem free (transmissions at 50,000+ miles). The Acadia fits my needs very well. In comparison to many vehicles on the road today there is a lot of vehicle here for the money. My late father-in-law was a career engineer for GM, but this is the first new GM vehicle I've purchased in my life (age 54). The Acadia is impressive to drive, beautiful to look at, and clips along at 70 MPH at about 1800-1850 RPM.
Excellent says it all!
We needed a vehicle to haul 2 children and thier friends. Gas mileage was a concern. This vehicle has plenty of room and great gas mileage. A added bonus was the fact that everyone that sees it comments how great it looks.
Time for another Acadia- Maybe
I love my Acadia however I must say that this Vehicle has had more problems than any other vehicle I have ever owned. Headlight $500 New Transmission $3,500 New Odometer $500 sqeeking noise in dashboard. We also Own 2 Buick Enclaves. Just bought my wife a 2012 Buick in March. I'm waiting for the 2013 GMC Acadia's to come out but I worried about any problems with new models and the fact that my current SUV cost soooooo much in repairs. What to do????? I would love to hear back from GMC customer relations.
Have to get rid of
The Bad: Repeated water leaks. Headliner removed numerous times, carpet replaced. Rubber boots that hold the wires between the door and the vehicle are full of water. This i would not have noticed had it not froze and made noise while opening door. This will fill up repeatedly even after being emptied. Sometimes won't start without a jump. Battery is not the problem. Front struts had to be replaced at 37,000 mi. Noise in steering column. Ice builds up on windshield while driving in snow or sleet. No longer under warranty so i am going to get rid of car.Can not trust to be a reliable vehicle especially with the water issues we have.
Not a Honda
Buttons, too many and too small.Back up sensors, rapid beeping when your 1" away, you might as well hit the object.Sensor lights, too high in rear of truck, you have to bend down to see them, then you can't see out rear view mirror.Windshield wipers,a dial, stupid, should be arm,as on foreign cars, easier to use at night.Controls on steering wheel, too close to wheel hand grips, radio changes when you don't want it too.Worst feature, transmission doesn't downshift quick enough at high speeds. You step on the gas,NOTHING,poor and slow to no response.Worse with AC on.Overall, too many features not though out.
Updated to new car
I simply cannont tell in words how much fun it is to drive this car. I have been a faithful Chevy Blazer driver since 1995 with the same car! Coming from that car to this car gas wasn't an issue. I love all the cargo space and easy to use features. Remote start is a wonderful feature when it is cold outside and your car is warming for you. It is easier to drive in the wind it doesn't blow me around as much. I couldn't think of a better car to come over too if you are a Blazer, Tahoe or other SUV owner without the need for towing. I highly recommend this car to anyone.
Happy Customer
Very pleased with our Acadia. Upgraded from VolvoXC70. Looks great (summit white) and a real pleasure to drive. Bigger, better layout and way more interesting than CX9, Highlander or Pilot. They really got the suspension right on this vehicle and steering is light and handling is crisp. Good balance of power, not minivan like and not a big V8 SUV nor does it cost as much as one. Integrated entertainment package w/wireless headphones sans NAV system is sweet. Back seat and front seat can finally listen to what they want (XM, MP3, DVD, etc.). Transmission/Power gripes in other reviews are overblown. Six speeds are going to shift more. Works fine for us.
Best Thing We Ever Did
My wife and I have had this car for almost a year and we absolutely love it. We had a baby last fall and travel back and forth from Lansing, MI to Western New York (425 miles one way) several times a year and this vehicle has enough room for all three of us our Yellow Lab and all our luggage. It's a dream to drive and with the cruise set at 74 mph I still average 23.2 mpg. When the rear seats are folded down you have more cargo room that you can imagine. I've hauled lots of office furniture with it. I even towed one of my other cars (that broke down) from London Ontario back to Lansing. It towed like a dream too!
Nice car but misleading on gas MPG
Here is the review after 3 months of ownership and 3000 miles. The review is based on the maxed out SLT2 AWD (w/Nav & DVD). Overall the car is great. Nice ride, great seating, and seems sure footed on the road. Two complaints: Fuel economy - Don't believe the hype! We do City/Hwy driving. Avg mpg is 12 city, 16 hwy. To me, that's terrible for a V6 and compared to what GMC boasts of 20/22. The other complaint is the nav & backup camera has failed on a few separate occasions. Went back to the dealer and they will replace it. To sum it up, the Acadia is a nice car, good overall build and quality, layout. But misleading on the gas mileage.
Good Car.
After testing several other cars including the pilot, highlander, and CX9 we chose the Acadia because it had the best internal room / design and it also handles pretty good. 3 Row space is good as well and access through the captains chairs that fold is really easy.
Complete pile of JUNK
I could not have possibly imagined what a complete piece of junk and nightmare this vehicle would turn out to be. Bought it certified, and under that warranty (before 55k miles) had the transmission rebuilt, leaking sunroof fixed (but it wasn't), water stained headliner replaced, engine control module replaced when vehicle wouldn't start, and battery replaced when it wouldn't hold charge. Warranty is now expired and I have about 70k miles. Currently have: Nav system quit working, only reads about 50% of DVDs, sunroof still leaks and water sometimes pours into interior, service airbag light on, powered liftgate pops when halfway up then closes making it unusable. One word - JUNK.
Not worth the money $$$
I have had my Acadia for 2 years and had more trouble for what it's worth. I have had it in the shop for too many non-routine repairs then desired. Big thing is that they are leaky which can cause lots of problems with the electronic systems. It is too bad because the $$ you pay for these SUV's should represent a quality product. After my lease is done so am I with the Acadia.
Interior is going wrong!
I've had the acadia over 2 years. I love it! Well recently I've had some problems with the interior. The hydraulic arms to the back door have also gone bad. The larger seat in the middle passenger row won't move. The seat belts in the back are not comfortable (latches), they don't give at all. Good if you are tiny and can fit between them. I'm just disappointed in the problems going wrong right now. Sunglass compartment on dash also sticks. Nothing mechanical (cross your fingers). Wish the tires were a normal size so they didn't cost so much to replace! Love the car though!
Drives like a Dream
I am very happy with this Arcadia. It has a great ride, nice looks and is fun to drive. It gets decent gas mileage for its size. The interior seem to be of high quality. I have had it for two weeks and every day I like it more and more .
Terrible dependability
my family and i love the vehichle and the ride. however, the dependability is not existant. the vehicle currently has 87k miles and is the family event car. it is well maintained and we have owned it for 2 yrs and 20k miles. the following has broken while we have owned the vehicle: a/c compressor, brake caliper, cam cover seals, power steering pump, timing cover seals, breather valve, valve cover seals, a/c line, hood lift mech, front axle, speed sensor, all 4 brake rotors, front suspension, control arm, both taillights seals, headlight seals, power mirror control, power window control, door trim, etc. only owned vehicle this long due to warranty. we are selling. !
Nice look.....poor interior quality
I purchased my Acadia brand new in June 2008. I love the way the exterior is made and it is a totally fun vehicle to drive. I hate the fact that the interior of the vehicle was made so cheap. The rear floor vent covers keep coming off, the middle bench seat has never operated correctly since I drove it off the dealer's lot. Additionally, the driver side window will intermittently just stop working for periods of time. Unfortunately, the window never seems to act up when I take it to the dealership. I also hate the carpet material that is on the back of the seats, because over time it starts to look awful and is all matted. I live in Michigan, and the vehicle does not handle well in the snow
2008 & 2009 GMC ACadia owner
In regards to owning a 2008. The hour I bought it the rear window button was messed up. 2 weeks later the air conditioning went out. 3 months later the power steering gear box shaved part on the actual gears and I lost all power to the steering. At the time I was 6 months pregnant and I was scared to drive it. The owner CEO of GMC should remember my letter unless the staff signed it for him. Then within the next 7 months the power steering was reached a total of 3 times. I traded it in the dealer I bought it from for a '09' model. After owning this for 1 year and a half at about 55,465 miles same for the 08, now battery issues and it needed a new alternator. 800.00. I just bought a VolvoXC90
Matters Get Worse
I came on this site to see the reviews from other Acadia owners. We've owned our Acadia for a little over two years and I estimate that the local Dealer has had our vehicle for about 10% of that time. We have had both front struts replaced, power steering unit repaired, master brake cylinder replaced, computer work done, water pump problem, and now we are waiting to have our transmision replaced. The dealer ship has been very good about repairs, but they didn't build the vehicle. If you are considering the purchase of an GMC Acadia I suggest you walk away. General Motors should have recalled these vehicles due to all of the power train problems.
Acadia not for dirt roads
We traded off my 2000 Durango for this '08 Acadia and I am disappointed in that the Acadia leaks in a lot of dirt on our rural roads, mostly around the liftgate. A lot of dirt collects between the two rows of weatherstripping around the 2nd-row doors, also, so much that you sure don't want to lean against that area with clean clothes on. I also do not care for the constant shifting of the transmission. My Durango had a 4.7 and I really miss it.
240000 miles and still going sorta
i bought my 2008 acadia with 140000 miles on it already. it now has 240000 miles and the transmission is going out. other than that it has been a wonderful suv. rides great, drives great. no other problems till now. hoping to trade for a 2012 acadia. wish me luck that it is as good as this one has been...

water leakage
We too are having problems with water inside the vehicle.Pretty embarrassing having passengers notice water is dripping from the dome light in the back seat and they get wet putting on their seatbelt. We have had it to the shop three times now, first it was the drain tubes, then they said it was the roof rack and now thirdly, it's the sunroof. (they admitted fixing the drain tubes incorrectly on the first visit) Water dripped from the dome light, from the seatbelts, under the driver side soaking the floor board. We had it leak onto the dash board from the inside window. As much as we all spend on these GMCs this is unacceptable. We hope there is no long term damage. FRUSTRATING!!
Tried to love the car
I liked the external look and interior space. I took very good care of the care, always garage kept and oil changes every 3-5k with synthetic oil. From the day I drove it out the ABS light went on - that was a loose connector. The Air bag light went on all the time. On long trips the A/C would stop and for a while before coming back on. One day after stoping the car and getting out - the radio stayed on - I had to restart the car and move the steering wheel and stop it again before it would finally go off. I could never get close to the MPG stated, usually in my other cars I am close or higher than the stated mpg. I think the Acadia has real electrical problems and overstated MPG. I real
Weird Transmission
We're very pleased with our new Acadia in all respects except for one - the transmission shifts weird, especially under light acceleration. It seems to shift too early under light acceleration which then has a negative effect on acceleration. The shifts almost seem like it is skipping a gear. RPMs will go from over 3000 down to under 2000 in a single shift resulting in a significant loss in power. It doesn't seem like the transmission utilizes the 270hp fully, typical of a GM product in my experiences. It acts like it has a 100hp engine unless you put your foot on the floor and then it takes off like a spring chicken. Mileage has been respectable for this size of vehicle, 21.5 hyw.
piece o poo
We bought this vehicle brand new, 2 yrs ago w/15 miles on it! Have been diligent w/maintanence. All I can say is thank God for the warranty right now. We have had to have the rack and pinion replaced, transmission gasket replaced, strut bars replaced. also, found out to replace a head lamp bulb will cost $300! They need to remove the entire front end to get to the lamps! the car is beautiful, drives wonderfully (when not in shop), but the very second I can sell it and not lose our butts, I am doing so. I only have 30,000 miles on it now. What a piece of you know what. NEVER will buy ANYTHING from GM, Dodge or Chrysler again. NEVER! Run away from it, fast!
Happy Acadia Owner
I'm surprised at the problems others have experienced. We have had our Acadia for 2 years and 36,000 miles with no problems (fingers crossed). I love everything about the vehicle to include the look, feel, handling, interior room and features. We have taken 3 trips to the midwest and will soon take our 4th trip. The ride is comfortable and the kids love it! We have a 2 and 4 year old so we bought the model with captain chairs so that we can access the back seat easily. On occasion we have 6 passengers in the car, 4 adults/2 children, and have no complaints. We bought the vehcile for these reasons and because of its safety rating. If reliability isn't a future issue we will buy another.
Transmission Flash Does Wonders
To everyone mentioning the transmission, the 5/8/08 transmission flash is a must. You actually feel the 275hp of the engine and don't have to push the pedal down much. It's the way it should have been from the factory. Tons of room inside. I got the 2nd row captain's chairs. Where can you get those outside of minivan? 3rd row better than most vehicles and has 60/40 which is great. Power liftgate and rear backing sensors are excellent. Stereo system (with XM) very nice. OnStar provides nice security. Stylish exterior and underrated style inside. Large tires and off-road capability. All-wheel drive is passive but there if needed. Dual sunroofs. The total package, IMHO.
2008 GMC Acadia SLT2
I would love to give this vehicle an outstanding review but I can't. I love everything about this vehicle except that so many owners have had transmission problems prior to 100,000 miles just months after the warranty runs out. My vehicle is sitting in my driveway after 4 months of owning it and the transmission wave plate has gone out like so many others. GMC is not taking responsibility for their defective transmission's which is costing the consumer $4,000 out of pocket and in my opinion if people have extended warranty insurance they are ripping them off as well. They know it is a crappy design or they would not have redesigned it for the newer Acadia's.
Stay away from GMC
I have a 2008 GMC Acadia SLT, an expensive vehicle. I leased it, but decided to purchase it because my family liked the exterior styling and interior space. I currently have 84,000 miles and the transmission is failing for the SECOND time. It was rebuilt under the warranty, but now, 22,000 miles later, it is failing again and will cost thousands to repair. I have had no luck with the dealer or GM in helping to fix this problem of bad transmission design, and a faulty repair. I will NEVER EVER buy another GMC !!!
Sad Sad
I have had my 2008 AWD Acadia for 8 months. I have stop driving it because it is averaging 11.5 mpg hwy. I traded a 2004 Pacific for this that I loved I just wanted more room. I loved the car for the first month then all of the sudden the gas mileage took a dump. On my first road trip it got 22 mpg Hwy and 16 mpg city. This is the best I have even seen out of it. I am now in the market for a different SUV. I have had no mechanical issues and it has 76,000 mi. But if you don't care about what kind of mileage you get out of a SUV I have to say this is a great truck. Very comfortable ride.
Love our new Acadia
Just bought my wife an Acadia and I have been looking for any excuse to take a ride. We have three kids and mother in law who all fit very comfortably in the car. It is a smooth and quiet ride and the smart slide seats are easy to maneuver for the kids. The perfect car for large families and long trips. Love both interior and exterior design. My only complaint is the chrome trim on the interior gives off a high glare in the sun.
