love it
My '98 taurus is my first new to me car, and i love it. Bought it with 57000 miles on it, and just turned 68000 miles with no major problems. The only things that have gone wrong, is that my day time running lights went and my power locks were a little weird. Overall i love it, its a great car, very dependable and lots of power for just the 3.0 v6.
Excellent Car for the Money
Aside for some finicky shifting and having to replace the rear rotors, I have found the Taurus an execellent car which has provided me with 50k+ miles of near carefree driving.

Let there be HEAT!
I have owned my car for three years now and for each year I have not had any heat, I have done work on the car to fix and it still won't work without changing the heater core. I have also had to change the battery twice and the alternator once. I changed my brakes and rotors twice and I am not a speed demon either, the upholstery falls apart and the car just is overall not a good buy! Don't Buy!
Great Car
I currently own a 1995 Taurus SHO. The last of the "true" SHO's. I enjoy the car, but i dont need a manual transaxle in a sports sedan. if i wanted to run the gears myself id buy a SPORTS CAR. Thats why im looking into the 3rd Generation SHO. They look great, perform good, and there is nothing like rolling up on an unsuspecting 5.SLOW and SHOing them the dual oval pipes out back.
Who said flames make you go faster
My Taurus SE caught fire at 290,000 km on the highway. These cars are not great I suggest finding something else.
