Used 1994 Ford Taurus Sedan Consumer Reviews
I'm ready for a new one
I bought my 94 taurus in 97 with 45,000 miles on her, I fell in love with her from day 1. From the smooth and extremely powerful 3.0 liter v6 to her beautiful looks on the outside I can't decide which is better. Other similiar cars such as the mercury sable are slower than the taurus I've raced a few. Getting back to the title of my review, I can't wait to buy a new taurus, just think of all the advancements they must have made in 8 years to an almost already perfect car, it's definately gonna be my next car purchase since my 94 has over 100,000 miles on her with no major problems just routine maintence.
Solid vehicle
I got this car with 92,000 miles already on it and didn't really expect to drive it too much as a second car. However, with it's great mpg and roomy interior (as opposed to a truck) I drive it all the time know. I know have 130,000 on it and have had to replace the normal: tires, battery, and fulids. I plan on taking it on a 5,000 mile trip this fall.
Stories the same one.
I just bought a Taurus & am in a dispute to get my money back. the guy lied on the disclosure sheet but more important, I getting all the problems I'm hearing over & over in these reviews! Tranny, jerky shifting, thumping on taking off or shifting. Thing is, I like the car, really. Even though, as I've read here, the electric windows and locks leave something to be desired. I found the previous owner, who told me it has always knocked and shifted jerky, but you get used to it, and its been a great car, so I should have Arden fix the motor mount and ignore the rest and it'll be a good car for me. I'm 60, alone, no man to help me if I have car trouble. But I really like driving this car!
the money pit
spend 850 to get the trans fixed, still doesn't work right. water pump started leaking at 98000, cost was 1150 when all was said and done. ate tyres like candy. driver seat though power was not conforable. will not bye one again. oh yes; hope you make sure you got lots of money for the engine repairs.
Why did they ever build this car?
This is quite possibly the worst car on the road ever. I would rather risk a Pinto of the 70's than spend one more minute in this pile of junk. Let me sum it up; 3 transmissions, 2 head gaskets, new steering knuckle on driver side, numerous brake problems, plastic buttons on climate control are gone, suspension problems, and tie-rods. All before 100,000 miles. POS.
