This is my 2nd Ranger. I traded in a 1994 with 170,000 miles on it and it was still running strong. I like the 2003 overall. It rides a little rough on bumpy pavement as trucks do. I really like the rear doors. The gas mileage is 22mpg with a 3.55 Limited Slip Differential. I've had it for three weeks and 2700 miles and so far so good.

My 2003 Ford Ranger experience

I owned my Ranger for 4 years before getting rid of it. I loved it! I bought it my senior year of high school and did so much with that truck. As a matter of fact I would have kept it if it would have towed my families 30 foot camper. I had the 3.0L in mine and it was a good engine. Next time around I'm going to get the 4.0L for sure and four wheel drive. I highly recommend this truck to anyone looking for a small pickup.

A good truck at a good price!!

I have had this truck for 3 weeks now,and I am loving it more and more everyday!! The truck handles wonderfully, and is easy to drive. The handling of this truck is much like that of a car's. But has full capacity of a truck. The accelleration is quick, and the 5- speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. And the a\c is ice cold!! Last, but not least, I love the mp3 stereo system. You can burn hours of music on one disc.

This is my 3rd Ranger in the last 14 years. They are a great truck for the price. I have had the 2.3, 2.9, and now the 4.0L engines. The 4.0L is by far the most powerful. I love the looks of the truck, both inside and out. I only have 885 miles on it, but if the reliability is anything like the last two, I will be happy. Be sure you you get the 4.0L. Keep an eye on the speedometer, because this truck will fly down the road.

I purchased this truck four weeks after buying an Explorer with the 4.0L V6 and 5spd auto. I was so pleased with the performance of the Explorer I decided to look into the Ranger. The Ranger feels very solid, the engine is strong, and the transmission is silky smooth. The ride can be rough on less- than-perfect roads. Gas mileage is reasonable for a truck with this size engine.
