Used 2001 Ford Ranger 4dr SuperCab Edge Plus 4WD Flareside SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Where's my 4x4
For the past 3 months I have had to take my truck into the dealer to fix the 4-wheel drive. So far it has shorted out 5 times, stupid electronic shift on the fly and none of the mechanics at the dealer can find the short. Not only that but my cruise control also shorted out. I have less problems with my '96 ranger then I do with this one.
Don't Buy A Ford
I have had alot of mechanical problems with this vehicle. The service department at the dealership has not done a single repair correctly the first time. I have contacted Ford customer service about this issue and I am not happy with the way I was treated. I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you want a small truck buy a Toyota.

GIVE RANGER THE EDGE
My 2001 Ranger Edge 4x4 extended cab is the first brand new vehicle I've ever bought. The Edge styling along with the 4x4 stance gives it a lean, aggressive look, combined with the jet-black paint, although hard to keep clean, just can't be beat! The 4.0 V-6 has super pick-up and acceleration, and the 5-speed auto shifts smoothly. Off- roading is also a blast!
Great truck
I leased a 2001 Ranger Edge 4x4 for three years. Problems I have had seem to be common according to the other reviews. The gas guage is inaccurate, the mileage could be better, the power windows have been worked on for the skipping and jumping problem while going down, and the drive shaft had to be replaced. It also had to have a sensor that runs the egr valve replaced. I still love the truck though. It does turn alot of heads. I have had it off-road twice and it performed flawlessly even when I thought I was pushing it over a little, and our northeast Ohio snow has proven to be no match for this truck.
Sharp Edge
No real gripes so far. Sweet little truck has it all. Very livable everyday driver.
