I have leased cars from Ford for over 9 years and this is definitely the smoothest ride to date. I have driven Concord, Taurus SE and Taurus SES in past (loved all cars) but this Fusion is nicest and smoothest ride yet.

No complaints. I think Ford has finally pushed there #1 selling car (taurus) to second spot. The Fusion runs, handles, and looks great. I am a former ford owner of a Mustang. Many head gasket problems. I told myself I would never again go Ford. I did, and happy I did so.

Three hours a day commute

Since I spend a lot of time on the highway, the little things really affect me. First off, the 6 speed auto trans is smooth, but the Fusion gives me no feedback or control over what gear it is in. When punching the gas (6 cylinder) to pass someone there is a pause while the engine revs up and the 6 speed fumbles to find the right gear. This seems fairly unsafe to me. I would like to have a control to send the transmission into lower gears. Also, while the cruise control is on, if I increase speed with the gas pedal, the transmission fumbles around too much. I can see the results on the tachometer. Otherwise, WOW! What a lot of car for the money!

A little disappointed

We traded a 2003 Ford Explorer for a 2006 Fusion to obtain better fuel efficiency, however this was a big mistake. We are only averaging about 19-20 mpg with the Fusion, but have sacrificed a significant amount of space. Our Explorer was roomy and held 7 passengers. The Fusion is small and even with buying the V6 SEL loaded, it is missing some of my favorite luxury features. Also, we purchased the fusion in May 06, then in July 06, Ford offered an extended warranty to all the 2006 models purchased after mid July. What a slap in the face to those of us who took a chance and bought Ford's first year model Fusion!

COMMUTER CAR TURNS INTO FAMILY CAR!

We bought the Fusion to replace the 2003 Focus as a commuter car. Wanted the cheapest model but on Sunday trip we stopped to look at the fully loaded black and loved it. We bought it for wife to commute in approximately 126 miles five days a week. We liked it so much we gave our daughter our 2004 Toyota Solara and sold her 2003 Monte Carlo. With me retired we found we didn't need three cars in the family. Everywhere we went on weekends, like Lake Tahoe, we take the Fusion and love it. If and when we need another car we might just buy another Fusion.
