I have had this car for 9 years, 140K on the odometer. I have been impressed by its reliability, have had no major repairs to make. I average 35mph in Summer, 28 in Winter (I live in Boston, so having the heater on requires keeping the engine going). What I like: the fuel efficiency, the excellent GPS and climate control. Exterior paint quality has held up very well, still looks shiny after a wash. What I do not like: the cloth interior stains too easily. Initial acceleration is not as quick as a regular car. I park outside during Winter, so some rust is appearing on the rocker panels. However, all in all, I have been very impressed by the car and plan to keep it for a few more years. 2022 Update: car still runs well, up to 175K miles, but a couple of the jack points have rusted through, making it difficult to have the car services. Both rockers have significant rust. It's a shame, the car otherwise has been faithful and continues to give me 35 mpg.

I have owned my Ford for one year now, driven it about 14,000 miles and love it. The fuel mileage is fun to watch (I live in NYC and commute to Northern NJ). When the temperature stays below about 40 Deg F I average about 35 MPG, between 40-75 Deg F about 40 MPG, and above 90 Deg F the mileage drops to about 36 MPG. I have the Sony sound system I don't know how I ever lived without the SYNC system. So far I have had no issues with the car.

Its November, 2023, and at 249,000 miles, this car remains trouble free. Average gas mileage seems to have increased up to typically 37 mpg or more, perhaps due in part to favorable weather temperatures. Car remains a pleasure to drive and is holding up well.

Overall the Fusion is a very good car with state of the art technology. I've gotten 52 mpg around town and 41mpg on the highway wile driving within the speed limit. When I drive faster, as I normally do the average is 35mpg. I sold a 2003 Taurus to purchase the Fusion and that car was much more comfortable on the highway than the Fusion and got 27.5mpg. Overall I have mixed emotions about the Fusion. A highy touring car it's not, A city or suburban fuel champ for it's size it is!! Overall, if highway driving is your major miles I would opt for something like the new Taurus. If running errands aroud town and stop and go traffic is your day than the Fusion is an excellent choice!

No major problems. Avg. 38 mpg. 52 in town, 43mpg to airport, 33 in winter(gas engine must run to heat coolant for heater). Good looking vehicle. Comfortable seating and ride. Fun to drive. Doesn`t save you any money. $8000 premium(only $500 Federal rebate) for hybrid, means at $4/gal you must drive this car 80,000 miles to start to break even(2000 gal times 40 mpg.)Cons-The brakes squeak horribly. The dealer saids to live with it. Claims the brake pad material is at fault. The A/C is dodgy. Somedays the car doesn't cool sufficiently. There is no cargo net or gas cap. The front end is all plastic. Rolled into a protruding trailer hitch at 3 mph and did $1400 damage.
