So far OK, hoping for a few more years

I've had my Focus for just under a year and 11,000 miles. So far it's been just oil changes and driving, with my only concern a slight growling noise that started in March which may be the pulley for the serpentine belt--that the dealer said wasn't a problem. My '06 Ford Focus was a nightmare with a blown transmission, two alternators, wheel bearings, motor mounts, axle seals, and so on. I only looked at another Focus as this was a $4,000 off special from the dealer and it was a manual transmission--my '97 Tracer manual had lasted for 11 years. It's been a sporty, well handling, surprisingly fast little car, I'm hoping with the manual transmission I'm avoiding most of the problems reported with these cars, but if it starts giving me trouble I'll trade it for a Toyota.

Bought my 2017 brand new had 23 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. 11k miles 1st clutch had to be replaced in my automatic, 21k miles 2nd clutch, 32k 3rd clutch, 44k 4th clutch now on the 6th it last around 19k and my car is now at 86k miles so no Ford wont do anything. My extended and factory warranties are done. Ford did pay me to go away but not even a 1/3 of what I paid for the car, or time I list at working going to the dealer every couple of months. They are fully aware they have not fixed the transmission issues in this model and do nothing to help the consumer. Dont waste your hard earned money on this pos. UPDATE finally got rid of it and it was stuttering again as usual between 9000-12000 miles. I now drive a 2021 Equinox and My husband drives a 2014 GMC we will never give another penny to Ford.

Had vechicle for 1 year before having issue with the engine. My check engine light came on about a week ago with a p1450 which was a error code for a evap purge valve. Car start to run a little rough then after filling up my gas tank it now stalls out and dies. Called 3 ford dealership to get replacement part but the parts mangers informed me that the part was on back order with no telling when the part will be available again. So now I have car that doesn't run that I'm paying on lol lesson learned never purchase a ford, Chrysler, jeep, chevy, fiat, and Volkswagen

Boughtb2017 at 7k miles. At 9k had a transmission replaced. Since then I had 2 clutches replaced and a solenoid. Took it back at 55k and told them it was shuttering again and overheated causing the tranny to shut off until it cooled down. They told me nothing was wrong with it and that I was driving in traffic. I told them I was on an open highway and regardless It shouldn't do that. I asked him if he would buy the 17 focus for his wife or daughter and of course he avoided the question. It is 12k miles later and I woke us yesterday morning and I have no transmission. If ford had fixed it when I asked I wouldn't be broken down with a 4k bill. We had a running joke in the house by ford told us shuttering was normal because that is what manuals do.i am not sure what kind of manual transmissions they drove but I never had any do that. But our running joke was "if your car doesn't shutter and shake -yourwrong and your car is broken-. Its not so funny now that my car is junk. I have only owned it for a year and it only has 71k miles on it. They tell me it needs 2 shift clips and a new transmission case.

This car has a lot of recalls and I have experienced some wiring problems with the ignition switch. Which Ford does not want to fix even though it is still under warranty.
