Purchased a 2017 Ford Focus with 3k mikes on the odometer. A month later the transmission began to shudder violently. It was addressed under warranty. 6 months later the transmission still shudders at certain speeds while up shifting. Heard that transmission can get locked up. Traded the vehicle.

This car shutters and stops while shifting gears. I got the car used less than a year ago and was not aware that the issue was the transmission. I have gotten a number of things fixed but none of the mechanics identified a transmission issue. Finally went to ford dealership after my car would not give power after turning on. The car is a lemon. Is anyone having the same shutter issues or issues with the clutch. I called ford and my car is not covered under a recall. It’s very expensive. Anyone having the same issue ?

A lot of transmission complaints are from the 2012 models. I also owned one of those until buying the 2017. The 2012 was in the shop 4 times for transmission trouble. My new Ford Focus is wonderful in all respects and I expect it will stay that way based on its performance thus far.

This is a beautiful car I just bought from Lithia last week. It only had one previous owner and 18,017 miles on it. It has been well taken care of. The body is beautiful and sleek. The interior is sporty and modern with many upscale features. It is quiet and runs very smooth. I am so lucky I found this gem. Ford is a wonderful choice and I would definitely recommend this car.
