I sold a 2011 Grand Caravan because my wife's Taurus X was falling apart and we needed to use my van as a down payment. We traded the focus on another Grand Caravan. It served its purpose as my daily driver and we even use it for family vacations with 3kids under 6. We have learned how to pack light. It gets 38-40 hwy mpg easy. I usually get 32 around town. For that I'm grateful. However, the issues with the transmission are true. It will act like it's stalling out every so often when shifting between 1st and 2nd. It also has a popping sound in the front left suspension at low speeds. This is "normal" according to Ford. Everytime I asked them to listen to to it I walk away with the same prob

Find Something Else

Purchased my car about 3 years old and about 42,000 miles. Loved the vehicle, interior and exterior looked sharp. Not to mention extremely efficient on gas. Within a year it started to have transmission issues. I brought it in as I found out it had a recall. Problem fixed. Within the next year, I had wiring issues, over $600 to fix. Well now three years out the original transmission problem has reared it’s head. However, was told they extended the recall to 150k (I am at 143k) later on to be told it was my clutch and that was only covered up to 100k. So, now looking at an almost $1,600 fix. To me it’s pretty shady that the recall is covered for two separate mileages, when the issue is one in the same. DO NOT BUY.

Transmission PROBLEMS!!!

I'm so disappointed in Ford SMH. I have a 2013 Ford Focus. My car is only 6 years old and I haven't alot of problems with this car. Main issue is the transmission. I have a car note which I been paying on for over 2 years now. My warranty is expire due too 2 years or 24 thousand miles which one ever come 1st. My car has 130,000 miles. Ford had alot of recalls on my car. Ford stating that my car is over 100,000 miles so it's nothing they can do about it regarding the recalls. They had over 2 recalls regarding the transmission in my car. So my car is about too shut down at any given moment and I will be stuck with out a car with a 3 year old. Repairs is over 2000 dollars to fix which I do not have being a single mom. I just want too cry everyday because it's nothing I can do about my car. Ford is selling bad vehicles to people and it's not right. Something need too be done soon. I do not recommend Ford too a single person.

So i never really looked at the reviews for my focus before i bought it. If i had to do this all over i probably wouldnt have purchased my car to begin with. The car has constant issues with the transmission (which the dealer says they cant fix). i have brought it in 3 seperate times and right off the bat the transmission and everything works fine, but with time it only gets worse and worse. Along with the VERY cramped backseat you mine as well go up a model and get the fusion. Car has incredible gas mileage with is probably the only upside about this car.

Best car I've owned so far

The 2013 Ford Focus hatchback has been the best car I've ever owned. I think it is getting a bad reputation here for the dual-clutch automatic manual transmission, which is easy to misunderstand as a "broken" automatic transmission. I enjoy it a lot and no issues with it after 114,000 miles. Things I like about the car include the stylish exterior and interior, comfortable seats, comfortable climate control, good visibility from the driver's seat, blind-spot side-view mirrors, decent sound system, and good acceleration in passing gear (assuming you can get the transmission to cooperate). Things I don't like about the car are the delays in shifting the automated manual when it doesn't engage the right secondary gear, lack of "sport mode" manual shift, connecting to Bluetooth audio (I must pull the voice command and say "Bluetooth Audio" every time I start the car), small screen, large and messy center console with an alpha-numeric keypad (?) instead of a larger screen, and no backup camera. It is an excellent car for an excellent value, not without fault, but I would recommend highly.
