Used 2000 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Solid Car
I paid dirt for this car new over 2 years ago. I have had absolutely no problems with the car in 44,000 relatively hard miles beyond the recalls, which you kind of have to expect from a first year car. Easily one of the best investments I have ever made.
An all around good car
I think that this car is very nice. It looks nice and does drive very nice. They sound system included is premium for the cars price, especially for a Ford. The only problem I have had is that it sometimes stalls(in an automatic!!) I have taken it to the dealership multiple times, but they find no problem. Overall, besides the recalls, it is fun to drive and an all around good car.
best car
I love my 2000 ford focus, with over 100000km on it i've only had few problems. i love it. for a small car its big.
Ford Focus
I realy love the design of the Focus. It lookds very good from all angles.
Check Engine Light
We have had this vehicle in the shop 10 or more times since we purchased it. All for the Check Engine light. They have replace everything, The last time it was in the shop for almost 2 months, They told us the engine needed to be replaced and then they replace the values on cylinder 3. We pick up the car and within 2 days the check engine light came on again. Then they told us the values on cylinder 2 need to be replaced. We like the car but this problem we are having doesn't seam to go away for long.
Love, Hate
Damn, I hate to love this car. It has screwed me many times. I'm sure everyone is aware of the recalls. This car stranded me 1500 miles from home with a rear wheel that almost fell off (15K miles). Two days to fix and ford wouldn't pay for hotel. I can't imagine what would have happened it the wheel had fallen off at 75 MPH. Key became stuck in the ignition (25K miles). The driver said it was the 3rd focus he had towed that DAY! My drivers seat has broken and now pokes my rear unless I use a towel. Ford said this was not covered under warranty. Why do I still like this car? It was cheap and fun to drive. It looks much nicer than a $14K car.
Lemon Demon
I bought my car thinking what a good deal. But quickly that turned upside down. The cluch had a recall, after they fixed that (ha) I put It back in the shop three more times. Now I'm told the sound is normal. Don't think so. I've had it in two times for a clunking noise in the back left side, they fixed it once but the noise came right back, I guess in stuck with that noise to. The back light went out, the gas light stuck on, they are fixed but for how long I don't know. I didn't buy the extended warranty, OH NO! I've read the other reviews and I'm scared. Now there is a noise in the front when I go over bumps!
So far so good
I got this as my first car. Normally I never buy American cars but I needed a car badly. I spent $1100 fix it and I still need to fix the electric and also need to replace the rotors. Aside from all that it's very comfy and I really hope it wouldn't leave me stranded. I should've gotten a Honda.
Car is worth nothing
In and out of the dealer that's where my car has spent more time rather than on the road. For the past 2 years I have run into problem after problem. Breaks making noises, gas pedal getting stuck, you name it! My car has had repairs for it. I will never even think of purchasing a Ford again!
I'm glad to be rid of it.
After taking our car in for all the recalls, and not being able to get the gear shifter repaired, because we were told that there was nothing wrong with it. I will say that I took the car to a small town Ford Dealer/Service Dept. and after removing the entire dash the A/C finally worked on hot days. I'm just glad to be rid of it.
