F-250
I was shocked at the fuel economy of this vehicle. It is a diesel with the manual transmission. It regularly around 20 mpg. This is better than any other vehicle that I have owned since the 80,s. That includes a T-Bird, Expedition, Mustang, Buick Century, and Explorer.
safe powerful impressive
This truck intimidates, nobody pulls out in front of me. The 5.4 pulls my 10,000lb low boy great. This truck is so comfortable (I have a replaced hip). The seat feels so good I don't want to ever get out of the truck.iI can't think of anything I don't like. This is like only my 17th truck, I'm keeping this one for a while.

TRUE STRENGTH AND RELIABILITY
Excellent reliable truck for both business and pleasure. Great looks inside and out.
Now I know why!
I just purchased my F-250 in 10/04 and have about 2K miles on the odometer. I can already tell this truck is a keeper and feels like a long, lost friend. Since I need a tow vehicle, I splurged for the new 6.0 Diesel. Power is smooth and quiet. Tranny is great! Handling is good (for a real truck). Build quality is WAY behind the imports - sounds like tin can, low quality plastic, vinyl, rubber, carpet and leather. Although everything functions properly, it needs an updated interior - climate control, radio, navigation, etc. Do I like it? No. Do I love it? Oh yea baby!

I bought a new F250 4x4 because of prior experience with a 2000 model. After test driving the other 2 makes with diesel power, I liked the new Ford the best. The 6.0 w/ 5 speed auto work great together. The refinements on the 2004 models fill the voids that the earlier models had. The biggest thing I don't like is the addition of a catalyst to the exhaust. The smell from it is dreadful and very sharp almost acid like to me. I have to idle a lot and the fumes are drawn into the cab. On my truck the cat will have to go. With some radio upgrades to match GM's bose/xm system this ford could be the ultimate practical truck.
