I love the comfort and power of my F-150, and am especially pleased with the huge touchscreen infotainment system. My F-150 XLT has all the features I need at a great price, and the first 20K miles have been absolutely perfect.

10R80 Never Again!

2023 Ford F-150 Tremor 4dr SuperCrew 4WD SB (5.0L 8cyl 10A)

I’ve owned many cars and trucks over the years, and I’ve always had a preference for Ford. I sold my 2005 F150 XLT to buy my brand new 2023 F150 Tremor 402- high option. By 5k miles I was seeing bugs. The Sync display would freeze, the power windows wouldn’t roll down when remote started, interior plastics would rattle. These things were annoying, but I could live with them. The came the clunking. It felt light I got rear ended. Coming to a stop, the truck started clunking. I then noticed it would downshift harshly, enough to jolt myself and others in the truck, or sometimes it would downshift too early, or not downshift at all - like total power loss when trying to go uphill or turn. I took it to the dealer, and they said even though they are aware of these defects ( covered in TSB 22-2428), Ford won’t authorize repairs unless they are repeatable - even though I have videos showing these happening multiple times. This truck has 8,400 miles and I HATE driving it. Google the Ford 10R80 issues before you ever think about buying one of these trucks. Ford has NOT fixed this issue, and those with them are stuck living with them and driving a clunky, jerky truck until the transmission eventually fails.

We have had the truck one month, and it will have spent 10-12 of the first 35 days in the dealerships’ service departments, replacing a battery, and trying to figure out an intermittent “check engine” warning light on the dash display. Hopefully AutoNation Ford Torrance will fix the flaw. If so, I might like the truck more
