Buyer Beware!
We have a 2022 Ford F150 Lariat edition and we have had 3 issues with the lemon. One was quite serious and we could have been involved in a really bad accident. This last one however has pushed us over the edge. It's the issue of "key not detected" and the truck won't start. $70,000 and Ford's Customer Service rep hung up on me when I asked her to direct my call to the service department. We have bought 2 brand new Fords before this one, but are going to switch to a different truck company next year. Do your homework or just take it from me, DO NOT BY A FORD! By the way, if it allowed me, I would have given it no stars.

Love my 2022 Power Boost King Ranch
This is by far the most user friendly truck iv'e ever bought from Ford and iv'e owned probably owned 8 F150's. Zero problems so far except for the 2 recalls that i wasn't even having a problem with. Gas mileage is 21.9 on the hwy which is good but not what i hear and read other people are getting. I actually look forward to climbing into this truck and driving it. This trucks pulls my trailers so well that i almost forget that i'm pulling a trailer. To be honest with you i'm still finding things out that this truck can do. The only thing that i wish Ford would do is furnish a really good manual with color pictures instead of the old B&W manuals they 'v supplied for years. Surely a nice manual can't be that expensive especially for what they are getting in cost to buyers to purchase their trucks I had to put the wrong model because my truck wasn't listed. Platinum 4-dr Supercrew 2WD 5.5 Hybrid & Powerful
I picked up my ordered 2022 F150 Platinum (Plat High, 2wd) Powerboost July 26, 2022. I waited 10 mths. I ordered it with just about every feature except - moonroof, lay-flat and scales as something to tow an Airstream. It is my fourth F150. I haven't had any issues to deal with other than two minor recalls- tail light flicker, and washer motor neither were of problem for me. The truck is amazing. Quiet, it is a bit more jittery than my previous Platinum (2017) but it also has a higher rated frame and has Good Year tires. All others had Michelins which I am fond. The hybrid in this truck enhances the overall truck use. It's is not a super MPG booster and I knew that going into the choice. It is my daily driver just as the other trucks so I can share that I am experiencing overall 2mpg better than my 2017 3.5L 10 speed Ecoboost and about 4mpg better in town driving. I do not use the truck computer but at the pump readings and I have done it for all my trucks and I can compare easily. So, to anyone considering a hybrid, my figures give you an idea of the MPG part of it. If you drive in town more (under 45mph) then you will gain more. My overall is all types of driving average. It is not a big difference but for a truck, that is good. The other aspect of the hybrid is assisted power. This truck is a beast even as 2wd and 3:55 rear (max tow) as seen in specs and in reviews of 0-60, etc. It is a nice vehicle. One thing that has happened to me on the road twice... I decelerated really fast and stopped. The transmission did not get a chance to shift down all the way. When I went to pull out, it was still in a higher gear- this was in the first few months, not since but it happened. The powertrain with the hybrid is different and takes some getting used to. It is mostly automatic but I have learned that you can trick it into electric mode by tapping the brakes and going for a mile or so before it starts the engine. Engine starts are almost completely seamless. Everything else is...truck. I want to say too that I would not own a truck unless I needed one to tow. I like them but I was always a sports sedan guy. That said, buy a truck for what trucks are for and actually, they SHOULD be reviewed and rated that way. Payload, the weight a truck can hold (cargo) and towing, the pulling weight rating, is critical to trucks and should be advertised as plainly as the price. It is amazing the way reviews may mention a trucks towing capacity but EACH truck is different. Just because it is an F150 does not mean ANY F150 tows or carries the same weight. There is a door placard that tells you this truck can carry #pounds- do not exceed. Why that matters is for evveryone's safety- yours and mine on the highway. Trailer tongue weight, even if shifted with a weight distribution jack still puts its weight on the truck and counts against payload. My truck payload max is just over 1600# and my trailer tongue is 1000#. Just a plug there! The hyrbrid as no problem towing or powering my camper, with its 7.2KW onboard inverter. My towing mpg is the same as my 2017 non-hybrid so far. I would highly recommend this truck. From what I understand, the Hemi and the Diesel are disappearing. My second choice was a Denali Diesel. I would have picked up an additional 2-3 MPG but diesel fuel and def pricing would eat about 2mpg $ savings away so I went this direction.

As always i only look at Ford trucks when i want to upgrade. They never disappoint! They may cost a bit more.. but you get what you pay for. I went w/ '22 F150 Lariat FX4 crew cab w/ 5.0L Coyote engine this time. My previous truck was an F150 XLT FX4 w/ the excellent Gen2- 3.5L TGDI . I could of certainly kept any of the 3 i had previously purchased for the long haul.. but every 6yrs or so i tend to want the lastest tech & vehicle advancements. Always have friends & family lined up to buy my old truck! I recommend Ford trucks to folks when they ask me without hesitation. Been the best selling truck for 45yrs straight in North America.
