Many Time F-150 Owner
This review is specifically regarding my 2014 F-150 Supercrew FX4 Ecoboost w/ 6.5' bed: Like previous F-150's I've owned, this truck has been nothing short of a fantastic vehicle. This is my second Ecoboost F-150 and I have had zero problems and have been nothing but impressed with its torque, engine response and reliability. Granted, I've only put 62k on it, and I typically trade every three years, so personally can't vouch for long-term reliability; however, as stated, I've had two trucks w/ eco and absolutely no problems. Not even an ECM update on either truck. I still have original tires on this one at 62k and have replaced front rotors and pads. The truck is max tow and it has pulled and hauled fairly (actually really) heavy loads without complaint. In fact, the truck is a beast when towing! All-in-all, based on my experience, it's a fantastic, all purpose vehicle! If the F-150 isn't the best dog hauler, it's got to be one of them! No problem fitting my 225lb Mastiff and 100lb Chesapeake in the back seat area.

Dual Turbo Charged Ecoboost Pulls 12,200 lbs Effor
7th Review February 2024 Well things were great until the exhaust manifolds warped and had to be replaced for $6,000. About 18 months ago and this month I had them replaced. A huge design issue by Ford. The engine block has 11 holes for the exhaust manifold but Ford decided to use only 8 holes. One of the bolts sheared off. Is this. enough to downgrade a very happy customer to a very sad? Yes, especially when Ford did not provide any compensation for their error. Do not by a used Ford Ecoboost unless you know the exhaust manifold has been replaced. I bet they have fixed the problem on newer models. 6th Review July 2023 146,000 miles All is good so far. No repairs in the last 12 months and 16,000 miles. We really have loved driving this vehicle. It's comfortable and lots of room for passengers and gear. We have easily towed an 8,000 lbs. trailer. Sway control was needed using a Hensley Hitch. Power to spare. Four wheel drive very handy exploring mountain roads. 5th Review July 2022 130,000 miles and only a few repairs (less than $2000) since I purchased the vehicle in December of 2014. Love the truck and its reliability. 4th Review July 2021 105,000 miles driven. 20,000 pulling a trailer. Still no breakdown or repairs other than scheduled maintenance. All systems working. Leather seats still in great condition. All buttons and knobs work. Just found out another great feature of this vehile. The high temperature notification system will cut engine power by using every other piston as an air cooler to keep it going and if needed it will shut down A/C. Had this happen on a long pull up a steep road and was happy to know I could keep going until it hits a fail safe mode giving me time to pull over. It never reached fail safe. Awesome! 3rd Review January 2020 90666 miles and 14,000 miles pulling an 8,000 pound travel trailer. What more can I say than trouble free vehicle so far. No repairs, engine runs smooth and powerful. I really love this vehicle and driving it as my only vehicle in town or traveling cross country. 2nd review July 2020 80,000 miles and 15,000 of it is pulling an 8,000 pound trailer. Not one repair since the warranty period took care of turbo issue which took Ford a couple of times to get it corrected. Still love this truck, how it handles, the engine has power to pull my trailer up steep hills, the hill assist transmission, etc. One thing I don't like is the itty bitty backup screen and it isn't easy to see in bright daylight. 1st Review 2017 Love the Ecoboost for pulling a large trailer. It doesn't lack power and handles the trailer perfectly. It has a trailer sway control that detects trailer sway and automatically adjust to reduce chances of an accident January 2023 Review They finally figured out why my engine was knocking when accelerating. It was broken manifold bolts. $3,000 repair was a shock. Truck still functioning well. Paint and interior are excellent. Love this truck.

3rd Ford in a row. Not buying another
I wouldn't buy this truck again. My 2010 F150 road like hell. Replaced it with a 2014 which I had to sell because I was told that the V-8 Triton engine will have to be replaced because of the terrible noise I would hear randomly at start up. Supposedly it would get worse over time . A common problem I've come to find out for Fords. Either replace with their "kit", pull the engine, and pay out your nose for the laborer (all in all about $8000). Or, buy another engine and get it installed for about the same price. See ya.... I gave it back to Ford, traded it in for a new model with a different engine. Their problem now... or the next unlucky person. Either way I wasn't flipping the bill. Ended up buying a 2014 with the Eco-boost. Didn't have it for 6 months and started hearing the same issue. OMG. I drove it for a couple years hearing the crazy noise randomly at startup that has progressively gotten worse. Guess what I'm doing? Trading it in and buying a Toyota Tundra. Good bye Ford!... for good!

Too much cab room in this XLT plus model
Ford could shorten the wheel base on this 6.5 ft bed by 12 inches if the interior length was 6 inches shorter and the bed was only 6 foot. I am 6 ft tall and cannot reach the pedals with the seat back as far as it can go! I love this truck except for the lack of interior storage (incredibly small glove box) and because of lousy gas mileage. My Tacoma had better interior storage. The hands free is very easy to use; there is no need for a premium stereo. I go off road through major bumps and ruts on BLM roads to go dirt-biking. I pulled 7,000 pound auto hauler with an Outback on it and got 16.5 MPG over 1400 miles and barely noticed a trailer being pulled. My model has a 3.5 L turbo, which I could not find on the review selections with a 6.5 ft bed. Also, there is inadequate interior storage. Glove-box will barely close with just the service manual. Fuel economy on the 3.5 L turbo is really bad unless the truck is on the interstate. Although most of my driving is off road, I average only 13 MPG with 10% small town driving, 50 % country roads and 40% 55 to 65 mph roads. The accelerator is extremely touchy; Rear tires regularly screech even with the traction control; replaced terrible tires it came with and put on over-sized Michelin tires. No mechanical or electronic issues to date.
