Used 2005 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Consumer Reviews
Truck of Steel
This is the third truck that I have owned and it is by far the best. I have compared the F-150 with the other trucks in its class and it really is the best built truck. The F-150 has a frame that is far superior to any of the competition. This truck also has vented brakes which allows them to cool down faster. The ride is very comfortable and road noise is minimal. I have been getting better gas mileage than what the sticker states (15 in city and 19 highway). So far my average in the city is 17 mpg. Not only is this truck a work horse but its also a great family vehicle. This F-150 also received one of the best crash ratings which gives me peace of mind when driving with the family.
Nice Truck but typical problems
As everybody else has stated the truck is quiet, smoother than a car, safe and very sharp. I pull a 27' Baja boat and the 5.4 triton has no problems. Everybody compliments on the looks inside and out. Problems: At 30,000 miles all of the brake pads tore apart and had to be replaced, then at 35,000 miles 4 fuel injectors failed (Thankfully it was still under warranty). Which is frustrating because the dealer said Ford knows this is a problem but will not recall it. When we first got the truck we had it in the shop 5x for a whinning noise in the 4X4 when it got below 25deg, they finally fixed it but really could not tell me why it was doing that. The interior sold us on this over the comp

Unbelievable truck
This truck is an amazing piece of machinery. Every aspect of it is perfect, from the way it looks driving down the street to the way if feels as you drive it off road. If anyone is looking for a new pick up truck I would highly recommend the F-150. I have driven Chevy's, Dodge's, Toyota's, and the Nissan. None of them compare to the quality that Ford put into the F-150.
Good so far
I bought this truck mid-summer 2014, It had 75k miles on it and was babied by the one owner. I bought it with a 6" suspension lift on 35' Nitto trail grapplers. I had a 2009 Avalanche prior to this and so far I'm liking the Ford better. The truck runs great with the big lift and tires and has no problem getting into gear. My gas mileage is on average 8-10. It's expensive but I knew what I was getting into. From everything I have read, people have had many problems with the 5.4. So far I haven't had any problems, but the ticking noise coming from the engine is only getting louder every oil change. I sure hope she doesn't have any major problems down the road
Lots of Room
Great buy, only 29 more payments to go.
