2010 Ford Expedition EL Limited 4dr SUV 4WD (5.4L 8cyl 6A)

Drove Landcruisers and LX470's for 8 years, last cruiser couldn't keep tires in balance. Drove the EL, and it is better than the toyota's and the suburbans I have had in the past. Drinks gas, but that's expected on this type of vehicle, comfortable, great ride.

This 2010 Expedition EL Limited has been a wonderful automobile. Four wheel drive has always worked great in snow, sand & all situations. Navigation System works great but I wish the system had enough memory for 100 locations rather than just 50. Engine, Transmission and power running boards all great. Everything still works properly. Update: So pleased with it, I decided since It had just shy of 100K miles on it, I traded it for a 2018 Expedition Platinum Max 4X4. But I'm sure the vehicle had many more trouble free miles left on it. The 2018 is Great! but is very noisy when it rains due to no insulation in the larger than necessary sun roof.

Purchased the 2010 EB/EL model for the extra space and options. This made the 3200 mile trip with golf clubs, tons of people and luggage a piece of cake. The ride was exceptional and the Navigation system is great. Very pleased after three months of ownership. I hope it last.

I bought my Ford Expedition limited EL for a killer deal since dealer didn’t want to deal with the engine light it had at 210,000 miles which I had a mechanic that told me it’s an easy fix which just needed the solenoids changed out. So I bought it had my mechanic switched them out at same time noticed it had worn spark plugs and coils so did full tune up and bam ran like new. Been driving it for 15,000 miles so far the past half year and love driving this beast! I have 5 kids and they ride in comfort! It’s like a limousine since I have captain seats kids run back in forth through Space in between when parked of course! So much space in cargo area with 3 rows up for scooter, strollers and little bikes. And when seats down enough to transport a fridge! Power folded seats such a big help without removing the seats. Sync is dated at this time but I don’t mind just happy I have a reliable full size suv ! Oh and back up camera in Mirror is such a big help for parking a big suv! Update. It is going on a year this month since I got the used expedition and nothing else has happened . It’s my weekend vehicle for when I take the family out for fun and it has 227,000 miles now. Oil changes every 3000 miles with full synthetic Mobil one and it runs! Might switch to shell rotella T6 15W-40 since I hear it’s the best oil to use especially in Texas summer heats Update 10-13-21 still going strong ! 229,000 miles and just changed out a O2 sensor and is running great just this week the tire sensor went out so will replace those soon at discount tire they quoted me $60 per tire but other then that nothing else just put in shell rotella 15W-40 couple last month and it’s great! Update 4-13-22 just above 230,000 miles I stilll only drive on weekends and the past 1000 miles have been great no other codes have shown up or issues runs beautiful definitely going to take her to the beach this weekend . Planning on keeping it until it dies which I think will be another 100,000 miles at least! Many people on expedition group on Facebook have above 300,000 miles so why not expect that from mine! Just regular maintenance should do it!

2011 Ford Expedition EL King Ranch 4dr SUV (5.4L 8cyl 6A)

I am a Ford girl. My cars for the past 30+ years have been Ford SUV products with the exception of a Chevy Suburban, which did not last in our home long. My prior car to this was my favorite, the Ford Excursion. I went back to the Expedition as I had one before the Excursion. I have 3 very busy, active teens and college age kids. We are an outdoor family with horses and boats. The pulling capacity is definitely not that of the Excursion, but, it's not on the same frame, which is one of my biggest let downs. We pull 2 horses on long hauls and 3 on short and our boat with no issue. It is a smooth ride and I can get 12 - 14 mpg pulling. It holds 8 adults comfortably with easy in and out of the back seat and still has room in the rear cargo area. It is a King Ranch and has lots of extras, but, disappointed in the wear of the leather. As a horse person, the saddle leather interiors were a draw and I hoped for better wear on the seats. The blue tooth is not so hot, sounds like your in a wind tunnel to those on the other end. We bought it right after the Japan Tsunami, so we are without Navigation, it was not available, and our back up camera is not in the dash it is in the rear view mirror, still helpful, but, definitely not ideal. We have had no major engine or transmission issues and will be purchasing another, probably our last large SUV in the next year. It is a solid, reliable vehicle backed by a great company. You won't go wrong and probably will be back for another! Great job Ford, but, please bring us something a little heavier in the frame in an SUV! It will make pulling/towing a lot better and I won't have to fight my husband for his F250!
