Best SUV on the market
I have had several SUV's, and they always lacked in either power, performance, looks, or reliability. The Ford Expedition has not failed me in any of these areas. Great handling SUV with a lot of power and comfort.
I'll Never Buy a Ford Again!
Pretty good vehicle until you get to about 75,000 miles, then it falls apart. Transmission, oil cooler hoses, axle seals, driver lock switch, rear driver's side door window assembly (fell apart inside door), windshield washer switch (sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't), alternator.... (I wonder each day what will fail next). Gas mileage is terrible. I own a Suburban which is more powerful, refined, comfortable, and out tows the Ford hands down. Take my advice: If you want a domestic truck, buy a Chevy. If you want a reliable car, buy a Honda or Toyota. By the way, my Expedition is in the shop as I write this review!

OMG IT's a Ford
It has 130,000 miles on it and has been reasonable for repairs. Some quirkiness in the electronics such as lights and chimes that won't deactivate when they should. The tranny is groaning a bit even after service. 4wd system is excellent and the ride is comfortable. Just don't try an Indy car moves on the roadway or you will roll the beast. The brakes are expensive to replace. Seems that everytime it needs a brake job the rotors are toast. I am a very easy driver on the vehicle. I paid 28,000 for it in 98, used with 12,000 miles. They don't hold their value that well because according to Edmond's it's only worth about 8,000 for trade.
Spoiled by my Expedition...
I've owned several vehicles from fast, sporty cars such as a Firebird, a convertible Trans Am, and a convertible SS Camaro...down to an everyday grocery getter; you guessed it...the Ford Taurus. I've also owned a Ford F-350 Super Duty Diesel Lariat. I really loved that truck! I never thought I'd find another vehicle that I liked as well as our truck until I purchased my Expedition. I absolutely love it. It has that sporty look I love & all the room & comfort we could ask for. When we need the extra room in the back for hauling something large we just take out the third row seat. When our kids have friends over and we go somewhere we have plenty of room and seatbelts for everyone.
Tough and Reliable
I bought our Expedition used in 03 with 70,000 miles. It has been a fantastic vehicle for us. The versatility of taking eight people or hauling things has been great. It has just the 4.6 engine and I have put it though the mill. We haul a 5,500 lbs camper around each summer and I have a piano service business and move pianos all over the midwest in a 3,000 lbs enclosed trailer. This old girl now has 190,000 miles with no major breakdowns. It was our main family vehicle for 5 years and we couldn't have been happier with it.
