My last Ford product
My first vehicle was a Ford Mustang purchased back in the 70's. I owned a Honda and then a Toyota that I put over 200,000 miles on and it's going strong for someone else now. I tried a Ford Ranger in 1994; purchased new with poor results. I dumped it before the warranty expired. The 1998 Expedition averaged one trip to the garage each month. I put countless thousands into it and traded a big loss for another Toyota. I would really like to buy Ford products but I'm not willing to dump money and worry when the vehicle will break down next. Ironically, my new Toyota is built in Indiana.
Good Used SUVs
I like the quick pickup - smooth handling and the comfortable ride - for an SUV.

1998 Expedition XLT
This suv is a great starter vehicle. This is the first vehicle I have ever purchased and being new to the driving world, being brought in with a 1998 Ford Expedition was the best way to enter. I have owned my Expo for a few months and it's been nothing but a joy. Even with the Triton 4.6 V-8 it still gets the job done and well I might add. I can haul all my friends around and not fret about their safety because this thing is so large. I have nothing but positive things to say about Ford and my truck. The only thing that doesn't work on my truck is the 6-disk CD changer due to a bad reader. Hmmm, this is a feature GM didn't offer back in '98; go figure, they're always behind on everything.
very happy customer
a wonderful suv to own. My wife's favorite vehicle.
Expensive to keep
This is a fine truck (when it runs & the "ck engine" lights aren't on.) Lots of problems (after warranty expired!) w/alleged water leakage & spark plug/coil paks going bad. All very pricey to repair. O.D. "off" switch broke. Manual lumbar adj. broke. Dealer service poor. Tends to "wander" on freeway despite alignment & tire change. Rear wiper works erratically. Beautiful truck; too bad it doesn't measure up to my old Suburban. Mileage w/4.6 better than expected- about 16-17 hwy.
