June 1, 2020 and still on the road with 424,000 miles. Original Transmission, Engine & A/C. 1/2 a dozen alternators and 10 sets of tires. At 225,000 I did a full cab off head gasket replacement and stud set and replaced the injectors since we were already in there. Through 2017 it was my daily driver (now an F-250 with a cap), but I still put on 10-15K a year on her. I anxiously await a potential replacement with rumors surrounding the trademark extension, lets hope so. There is a major need for a 3/4 ton large SUV. A Suburban cannot safely handle a 10K trailer (I know, I have tried) and is only rated for 6,300 lbs The Expedition is beautiful yet too refined and tops out at 6,000 lbs, yet a properly equipped 1/2 ton pickup (F-150) can handle 13K, what gives...

While diesel fuel price is 50 cents higher than unleaded, the EB Excursion diesel still seats 8, pulls 11000lbs and gets an honest 24mpg highway. I wonder why the owners rate it high and the editors do not, both groups must not be rating it on the same scale.

As with another reviewer, this is my second 'Ex' (also had an '01). Replaced after transmission had repeated problems ending in new transmission (fortunately it was still under warranty). I actually liked the 7.0 engine better, but this one does have better mileage and I can carry my entire extended family and tow a boat when we go on vacation. Towing and carrying full load, can cross Snoqualmie Pass in worst winter conditions with just winter tires, no problems. I love this car and am glad I got one of the last ones - will care for it and probably replace the engine if it ever fails. Oh, and by the way - runs great on Biodiesel - I've had it up to B100 but B5-B20 is best for coldest winter weather.

Unlike the Towncars little or no road and wind noise. Most miles are annual trips between Florida and New Jersey. Loaded to the roof, it has more than adequate power. At 14,062 every aspect of it is dependable and holding up better than any other car I have owned.

I've owned this diesel for 12 years and I love it more each day. There is no vehicle out there to replace it with. I have 221,000 miles on it, engine and transmission have never been opened, no oil leaks, no any leaks period.I have never run any programs on it either. I think that might be key.
